Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

    Benching Hazard is ok for one week so long as you have the players to step up. My Mid/Att are;

Bale / Hazard / Walcott / Snodgrass / Schneiderlin (toying with Noble or Cole)

    Aguero / Sturridge / Anelka

Sorry for repost everyone, but i thought it would be worth the discussion

Been thinking about this for days........When it comes to the discussion surrounding RVP/Bale....Should I have both? One or the other? or Neither?

When determining which way to go, I asked myself the question. "If i make the wrong decision which will hurt more"

    1. RVP no Bale - 51% Bale ownership ouch!
    2. Bale no RVP - surely the odds on favorite to win the golden boot for a third straight season. Gets attacking returns in 80% of starts "Only" 36% ownership. If he has a smashing start, and you think it is difficult to get him in your squad at 14.0M try it at 14.5 and 40% ownership. ouch!
    3. Neither....well that is just insanity. double ouch!
    4. If RVP or Bale fail miserably you can always downgrade along with the other 1.3 Million Bale owners and 1 Million RVP owners. It will hurt, but at least you are not alone!

    IMHO....you have to have both.

        1. Having a consistent reliable (C) choice

I'm tending to agree. You can easily move to the best player in Mid or Attack and have cash to splash if it doesnt work out OR you just sick with these two big hitters who might be on fire and everyone else is trying to get them.

As I'm starting to see, the amount of tinkering I was doing with 3 weeks left is absurd so I stopped a few days ago.

This is a question more about the structure. I currently have two big hitting defenders: one from Man City and one from Arsenal. Would you recommend downgrading one to free up cash in the attack?

If you suggest one, would you go with a City defender or an Arsenal defender?

Arsenal as cheaper and City looking to be more attacking this year, so can't see as many clean sheets. As for Liverpool, I can see them having more clean sheets than any other this season...

Most here prefer JRod to Lambert, if you want to, become a member and compare the stats between the two after Pochettino came. Also wouldnt go near Baker, Paulinho or Wilshere, but thats just me, the midfield seems very weak.

Start at the beginning.....Mig/Boruc is too expensive..either Mig on his own or another 4.5 to go with Boruc......Get rid of Baker, worst defensive option in the game given their early fixtures....Watch where Wishere plays pre season, he'll either be a great punt or a rubbish pick...same for Paulinho...Nolans okish...Thomas is standard bench fodder...Foward line is obviously pretty good (Lambert>Jrod possibly)

I'm very tempted by Giroud this season. Last season he got into the right positions and was unlucky with a lot of attempts. I know you can't go by pre-season (Boselli) but if you watch his goals, he looks very confident and some EPL GK's would struggle to save some of the goals he scored in the friendlies.

Having said that, Walcott is probably more consistent. It is a gamble but could pay off

I agree that Walcott is safer, but still, there could be a case for getting both.

After all, Giroud's 1st season in PL was not that bad considering he was still unproven internationally (and not that proven nationally either).

Could it be his breakout season?

Your linked post was a bit over complicated. Easier to illustrate the RVP / no RVP point like this

    B. Aguero + Walcott/Hazard

To be honest it was me just thinking out loud, but if that's how you saw it then thanks for compressing it like that. I personally have since decided that Aguero's not an option due to rotation, but that's just because I don't like uncertainty in my team.

pool are kind of a pain in the ass though IMO, unless you can afford sturridge. there's no guarantees with anybody else at this point, though aspas may be worth a punt.

chelsea meanwhile have the whole gw3 issue, and the fact that despite lots of contradictory rumours we really have no idea what team mourinho's going to favor yet.

the arguments for starting with rvp and downgrading necessary if need be make perfect sense but yet I'm still averse to getting rvp....

if we're lucky one of hernandez, rooney, or kagawa will be nailed on either ahead of, alongside, or behind rvp on the pitch and we can get one of those instead. and we've got those initial tough fixtures to perhaps wait and see

I also think people are forgetting the manager situation.

SAF did wonders with a mainly average team. I don't think Moyes can do the same straight off. We all saw how RVP dried up last season when he didn't get the supply. Unless Man U make some bold signings or Moyes can get Nani/Tony firing, I won't have RVP.

Said it before....Moyes ruins strikers with how he likes them to run all over the pitch

good food for thought Vets and MJ. will definitely keep that in mind. helps me feel a bit more comfortable going without rvp

I've always wondered why FPL have put the £ sign, yet haven't put the m afterwards, Van Persie is only £14....
