Our pre-season projections and Rate My Team tool are almost ready to go live in the Members Area. Over the past week we’ve seen a number of significant signings, notably at the Etihad, that have delayed our first set of numbers but, with the market seemingly settled for 24-hours, we’re now very close to going live with both, albeit with perhaps a big Gareth Bale caveat on the way.

Once again this season, the projections are based on the Rate My Team statistical model, developed by “Professor” Chris Atkinson, who some of you may have got to know via last season’s ScoutCast.

The Rate My Team model is built specifically to assess every player in the Premier League and return their expected values for Fantasy Premier League points in a given Gameweek. The system is a complex and thorough one which, of course, plots the probabilities of a player’s time on the pitch, their expected number of goals, assists, bonus points, yellow and red cards, clean sheets, own goals, goals conceded and saves. The strength of the opponent they are facing in a given Gameweek is also crucial; so every team has an attack and defence rating, every player a probability of playing a given match with injuries, suspensions and international absence factored in.

In the next day or so we will be publishing full projections for every Premier League player, plotting their total points, goals, assists etc for the entire season. These will include short-term projections offering a view of the opening six Gameweeks.

The projection tables will be fully sortable and you can assess FPL points per million value to help you run the rule over those crucial budget purchases.

In addition to the Projections, the full Rate My Team tool will also be going live shortly.

This can be used in a number of ways. Firstly, you can use it as a projections tool to predict what specific players will score, on average, over the next X number of Gameweeks. It includes a players table that can filtered by position or FPL cost and which can be extended to show any number of Gameweeks. You can also sort on “Value” to find those players projected to offer the best points per million return.

However, this is just one part of the functionality. Rate My Team can also be used to build a team from scratch, analyse your existing FPL lineup, recommend captains, vice captains your bench and bench order and allow you to model your future transfers.

The “Professor” and I will be creating some new movies explaining how the Projections and Rate My Team work in the next few days. Look out for them over the weekend and into next week.

A reminder that memberships for the coming season, giving you access to both the projections and Rate My Team tool, along with many other features, are available for the pre-season price of £12.50. Click here for further details, including an array of preview movies to demonstrate what’s on offer.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Mert Coleman Clyne M.Turner Parr/Chester
    Bale Wally Hazard Snodgrass Thomas
    Sturridge JRod Anelka

Just in case Bale does leave...

    Mannone, Boruc
Turner, Olsson, Clyne, Taylor S, Chester
    Hazard, Coutinho, Walcott, Silva, Thomas
    Aguero, Berbatov, Graham

+£3.0M (vue to do Kun > RVP at some point)

Seriously considering membership when I get paid. Can only improve last season's performance, right?

Plus, everyone makes mistakes... We've had the likes of Adams and Merson before who have had problems off the pitch and sorted them out through their great performances on the pitch.

He will easily pay Suarez £140,000 a week.

Not sure if you picked up on my message on the last page but..

Podolski is on £100,000 a week. Henry was on £130,000 a week in his final season at Arsenal, Fabregas was on over £100,000.

They have repeatedly said they will be breaking the wage structure this season. They have already freed up close to £30 million a year in wages from released and sold players.

Rooney is still class when he wants to be. Seems like he needs to be the big dawg of the team to perform though; something he'll never be when RVP is there (for the next 2-3 years at least). If Chelsea got him he'd be their main man and back to is unplayable best

Not convinced with this at all,I firmly believe he needs a fresh start, at a club wherehe is the number one striker. Trust me if he ends up at Chelsea, your "in terminal decline" statement will have you waking up in the dark of night in a cold sweat, screaming "Why did I ever post that"? at the end of the season.

Not that bit King Eric....Fergie was a master of ensuring no one player ever got put on a pedestal at United...to the point of actually ditching players...He did buy the top player..and no doubt...but he paid very little attention to what was coming afer...either in terms of progressing Kagawas career with game time or in the way he treat Rooney...And now, like i said, if Rooney leaves and RVP is injured then they start to look a bit thin...

I agree with the 'thin' part ... Kagawa is fine - he would have played more if not injured - and Rooney has to get with the program - RVP being top striker - or be gone. I don't see any glaring errors, there.

I think they've lost Rooney tbh...He's been a great player for them but it seems a tad untenable for him to come back fully now...Kagawa needs a full run playing with RVP and Hernandez as back up....As for new major stars then the cash from Rooney and their ample funds can soon put it right. I look at their main rivals squads in Europe and United seem to have stood still a little whilst they have fattened up their squads...

That's true. I think it's more an indictment of the EPL than of Utd though. The very best players just don't really want to play in this country anymore, for any team.

Rooney out and Fabregas in would improve Utd, but not as much as it'd improve Chelsea if that's where he went.

The only thing keeping Chelsea, Arsenal and maybe even Spurs behind Utd is that they all lack a world class striker. Their best strikers are about on par with Utd's 4th best. If Rooney goes to Chelsea the title goes with him.

My first season on here from the start, for the last 6 seasons I have always played with rotating mids and rotating defenders, lowest rank being 70k highest 1k so not too bad. It does not seem a popular way to go on here though. I think I will follow you lot this season and just go with not much rotation as that seems popular in most RMT

I think rotation works for cheap GKs/Defs as they will keep home clean sheets but away ones are much rarer.

Mids/forwards are much more likely to pick up points home or away so I haven't even really seen evidence of rotation being a benefit.

Believe it or not walters has been a regular in my team for the last 2 seasons for the most part in the home/away. Looking back I used to spend way too much funds on the rotating 4 and 5th mid like 6m each. This season I will just go with 4 mids and a 4.5 bench fodder

Just seen that Benteke has 18.2% on TSB.

His first 3 fixtures are ars LIV ---

9m for a striker at a below average club with terrible fixtures. I'm baffled.

    Any thoughts?

I agree, he's on my watchlist awaiting pre-season and any further transfers. Villa will be on the up this season and Benteke should/could be better for his first season imo. I wouldn't put it down to a 'casual' thing.

    Alt: FUL, sou, cry,

so i wonder what this means. Do Liverpool want to keep him? Do they value him at £45m or do they not want a PL rival to have him?
All this will surely affect people in FPL and saving money to invest in October, if he stays of course.

Fom me the Cazorla option can only be considered when Arsenals frontline has been established. Giroud is not the type of striker that brings the most out of Caz. Imagine for example Suarez being up top. His runs and clever movement are what Cazorla is looking for.

I've seen a lot of sides with Anelka in. Admittedly he was class at his peak but isn't he past it now? I mean 3 goals in 22 games in the Chinese league doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Also are people not worried about him being rotated fairly heavily, as he's no spring chicken!

Yeah, think you're taking a chance when you're looking around the 5.5mil bracket or less. Best you can really hope for is a guaranteed start. Still tho, he's worked with Steve Clarke at Chelsea, and even tho I don't put a lot of stock in pre-season friendlies, he bagged a brace tonight:

If you want guaranteed starts at £5.5m then go for Cornelius or Graham. Both will pretty much need to get most of their teams goals.

Anelka has good fixtures and plays for the better team but Graham seems the best bet for regular starts and goals, imo.

Tony Barrett from the Times has reported the £40,000,001 bid from Arsenal for Suárez has already been rejected. Which means that reports suggesting Suarez has a 40 million release clause are false.

The clause is that if a club bids above £40m, then Liverpool have to tell Suarez about the offer and let him talk to the bidding club. So now, Arsenal can talk to Suarez and his agent and try to get him to force a transfer.(Allegedly)

Parmtree, if you're around, I chose Acuna because he's supposed to be Vydra's replacement, so should see a lot of game time. Whilst Fessi is still my favourite player, I do think he'll be rotated with Fabbrini, an Italy international, also around

That was pretty much the only home game I didn't go to. Worst decision of my life.

Still, Knockaert probably would have scored the penalty if I'd gone. Did you invade the pitch when Deeney scored?

I was on the pitch after the game. So good. Shame it all ended in disappointment but I'm confident about this year.

We've got some real quality. Seems like the Pozzos really mean business this year. As long as the squad gels quickly I think we can hope for automatic promotion

    IMHO:
    Bale won't go to Madrid
    Suarez won't go to Arsenal
    Rooney won't go to Chelsea
Mertesacker is in too many teams - bad move

Rooney will definitely go to Chelsea. Suarez won't be at Liverpool for much longer, but can't see him going to Arsenal. Not sure about Bale

Correct. But unfortunately he'll go elsewhere.
      Incorrect.
Correct x 1 Zillion. 5.5m for an uninspiring defender in a non-CS defence with plenty of better similarly priced or cheaper alternatives.
