Two intriguing fixtures in the Premier League today, effecting both ends of the table. League leaders Manchester United reignite their great rivalry against a Liverpool side desperate to get into Europe, whilst Tottenham’s European ambitions stretch as high as the Champions League spots. They visit a Wolves side well capable of beating the top teams, but find themselves struggling in a relegation battle.

As always, the Dugout Discussion chatroom is open, and the first thing to digest is the team news from Anfield…

Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Gerrard, Lucas, Kuyt, Meireles, Maxi, Suarez.

Man United XI: Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Smalling, Brown, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Berbatov, Rooney.

The headline team news for the hosts is that £35 million January signing, Andy Carroll, makes the substitutes bench for the first time in a Liverpool shirt. Kenny Dalglish opts for four defenders at the back, with Luis Suarez leading the line up front.

The visitors reinstate the Premier League’s top scorer to their starting eleven, with Javier Hernandez replacing the Bulgarian on the pine. Another once regular starter is back in the team after a couple of games on the touchline, as Rafael da Silva gets the nod ahead of John O’Shea.

The Dugout Discussion will stay open right up until the hotly anticipated bonus points are distributed.

I know, but I may as well have a laugh at it. My score is exceptionally poor.

I'm actually going into the kitchen now to load up the dishwasher and cut the fat off the joint of beef we had today, but it sounds better to say I'm off to cry into my beer.

Sickening challenge today on nani. Yet another assault that carragher has got away with. No wonder nani got up to protest before going back down i think id have stood up through that pain to register a complaint with the ref if i had had an attempt made on my career. Hes a faker and a diver. But dont let that cloud your judgement of this event. That tackle was atrocious.

Leave something on him, let him know he was there etc. Poorly timed and reckless. Should have been red. So should Nani's, Rafael's or even my the rules VDS for running the pitch to mouth obscenities at the ref.

Can't use one decision to hide behind. We had as many go against us.

I'm not excusing carra's tackle - it was bad - but these things happen a lot every week. we see people flying in all the time, its just the nature of the Prem League. Had the liverpool player not jumped in time rafael would've done even more damage at the speed which he lunged in at.

Clip round the ear or elbow to the temple? Fine line, sane as there is a fine line on Rafael making contact.

Carra should have gone, bad tackle. Nani should have gone, man handled Phil Dowd. Maxi should have got yellow for a high tackle on Rafael. Rafael should have gone for flying in on Skrtel.

Rooney and Fergie should both be banned. Win some lose some.

The fact is if im driving irresponsibly and nearly hit some i go unpunished (luckily) if i actially hit them im punished (justifiably) the same should apply in these cases that was one of the worst tackles ive ever seen.

Jesus. More people moaning about their low score again. Don't people realise that just about everybody has got a low score this gameweek? It's all relative.

+1, low score can still give you a green arrow.

Some of the people who got genuinely low scores may well have lost 10-15 points in their mini-leagues though, which is not cool, and fair enough to be annoyed about it.

    When will VDV be back?

Anyone looking at bringing in Bale this GW?

Will probably bring in VDV for Brunt this week.

        My midfield is:

        Adam - VDV - Nani - Nasri - Dempsey

Who would you bring out for VDV, if he is fit?
