Were you off to flyer or were you let down by missed penalties, needless bookings and late consolation goals? Or even Romelu Lukaku? Yeah, the less said the better.

Either way, like Lukaku, the season is still young, and there’s plenty of Gameweeks to turn things around. To help you out, this term we’ll be providing you with a regular view of Paddy Power’s odds to add some further data to your decision-making. Here’s the current clean sheet and anytime goalscorer odds for the Gameweek ahead.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 2

Monday night’s clash is a headline-maker in waiting and Paddy Power has Robin van Persie at evens to get his name on the scoresheet at anytime and add to his brace of superb strikes at the Liberty.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five visits to Old Trafford and Van Persie has six goals in 18 appearances versus the Blues. Paddy is putting his neck on the line though by giving punters their money back if RVP finds the back of the net against Jose Mourinho’s men.

Manchester City are well backed to find goals at newly promoted Cardiff and striker Sergio Aguero is the most fancied to score anytime over Gameweek two at odds of 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Tottenham’s new £26 million striker, Roberto Soldado, is up there with the Dutchman. He opened his account from the penalty spot last week and bagged himself three bonus points in the process in addition to a pair of Europa League strikes earlier today. At 4/7, Spurs are red-hot favourites to beat Swansea and Soldado is also 5/6 to find the net at anytime in Sunday’s clash.

Despite his penalty miss against Liverpool at Anfield, Stoke’s Jon Walters is surprisingly the top ranked midfielder in our odds listing. Paddy Power has him at 7/5 to score anytime when Ian Holloway’s Palace side head up to the Britannia on Saturday.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is ranked next at 6/4 and Theo Walcott is also well backed to take advantage of the Fulham defence at Craven Cottage in the opening match of the weekend.

Clean Sheet Odds – Gameweek 2

Despite being without crocked skipper Vincent Kompany, City top the clean sheet odds list, and are well fancied by Paddy to escape from Cardiff with a second shut-out of the season. They are 11/10 to keep the newly promoted Bluebirds at bay.

It’s worth noting that Southampton make the top five in our list. The Saints conceded just nine goals in their last ten games at the end of last term, and face a Sunderland team who managed just three shots on target from 21 efforts against Fulham. That’s just a 14% accuracy rate and one of the key reasons why Paddy Power is offering 13/10 on no Sunderland goalscorer this week. A perfect excuse to jump on the Luke Shaw bandwagon.

The Stoke defence is also well fancied to come good – neglected in Gameweek one due to the trip to Anfield. Paddy are offering 5/4 for Mark Hughes’ men to keep a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace who struggled to make an impact against Spurs last time out.

Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross, as always, offer a tempting goal threat with odds of 6/1 and 8/1 respectively for an anytime goal.

    Shaw vs Clyne

Does anyone see any real advantage of 4.6 Shaw over 4.5 Clyne?

I want one of them, and am wondering if I need to press the button now before Shaw goes to 4.7

Is Shaw a better player, more nailed on, less injury prone, more attacking?

Clyne should come back this weekend, and is likely to be 4.5 for a while.

    Discuss.

Mainly that casuals will get settled into one price rising darling, and chase the rise, thus fueling it. Possibly could get frustrated holding a player in Clyne of the "same value" that stays stuck on 4.5 while watching Shaw's price continue to rise.

Otherwise, Clyne seems to stay healthy more (played a shade over 3000 minutes last year).

ok i see you're a newbie...looking at your team i think you should wc too

-get davis not given so that if boruc doesn't play you've a decent chance davis will
-don't like whittaker...he's not nailed on...get chester for that price...also it's possible his price will go up again by sat morning so keep him until then if you're going to sell
-if the 0.1 matters to you get clyne not shaw (or M.Turner if you want to keep lambert)
-there are lots of good strikers...you could get sturridge and benteke instead of aguero and lambert...aguero will surely suffer lots of rotation
-don't like barkley...not nailed on...kim is worth the extra i expect

    So, Soldado (c) ?

I appreciate he scored 2 earlier but what was he like?

Saying that Swans look good against this bwm team, and in fairness until United scored 2 goals in a matter of minutes they looked very good in first half last week so... They will be no punch overs.

    Any thoughts Soldado owners?

Spurs suffered from poor left side, Siggy struggled to get involved and Rose balls into box were poor, which left Soldo a bit isolated. Spurs were also happy to largely keep possession first half, but pressed more effectively 2nd half. Intro on Chadli really livened the attack up, no surprise got two assists, including beaut cross for Soldo second.

Remember, lots of new faces mean still establishing patterns etc, but Soldo looks to me to be a very clinical striker, busy too, won't necessarily need tap ins to score.

Note also that Pauly looks really interesting, bombed forwar several times, often closest to Soldo in the box despite Dembele playing further forward.

He's in my side and I'll very likely give him the armband.

          Hope that helps Evs.

Michu looks like he's going to be worth 9m again, playing with Bony ahead of him will suit him well.

According to FISO, Schurrle, Kagawa, Zaha, and Negredo(!?) are all more likely to see a price drop than Bale.

Because apparently White Hart Lane was built atop the burial site of recently discovered pirate treasure, and/or casuals gon' casual.

    Happy bargain hunting!

because Bale is flagged and require 2.5 times more transfers out (on a percentage basis) than the others

Who would people captain out of the following?
Coutinho and his key pass stats away to Villa.
Gioud/Walcott both on and off form away to Fulham.
Hazard away to United (one of the many burned by captaining his single assist!)
Mirallas at home to a seemingly toothless West Brom.
Soldado at home to Swansea (scored twice tonight, so may be gelling with his squad)
The Wolf, who only made a few touches on the ball but still scored, away to Hull.

Going to have a monster season, but I still can't put him in my team because there is not much worse than spending £11m on a player who gets rotated.

Sky game isn't letting me select a new captain for the new gameweek. I'm new to the sky game so not sure of the rules. I made a change to my captain on Sunday, from RVP to Haz. Now it wont let me change from Haz for the new week. Am i missing something?

1 captain change per GW (Saturday to Friday). So Sat morning you can change it before the first game, but that will be it for the next week. This is how it seems to be but there are unknown points like selling your captain.

ok, cheers Namtab. Seems very tactical - so should I have changed captain for GW1 from RVP to someone who is playing on Sat in GW2 therefore allowing me to use my captain change in GW2 to someone who is playing either Sun or Mon?

Absolutely, in principle, but for DGW you got 2 games out of him so it evens out. I have him too, so next week we only get 1 captain, but it will be someone who plays Sat in GW 3 as you say 🙂

Think this is really important, thanks. I guess it should mean that anyone who isn't really on it won't get anywhere in the sky game. So it should only really be ffs people with any chance of winning.

Both slight rotation doubts, though seem to be first choice.

Shelvey has had some good games, but Routledge is the better FPL pick, as their first choice XI has Shelvey playing in the double pivot just ahead of Britton like tonight.

He will also play CAM sometimes, if only one of Michu/Bony plays, but Routledge seems to have higher goal involvement - relying on long shots mainly for Shelvey
