Alex Ferguson has this morning offered us more on Nani’s leg injury and stated that, although he is unsure of when the winger will return, he is hopeful that he will be back in contention following the international break.
“We’ve managed to stitch it. Now we have to guard against infection. The swelling has gone down, which is good news. To give a date is difficult. Whether he’s fit to face Bolton is difficult to say, but we have a two-week international break and we’d hope he’ll be ready to return after that.”
Nani would therefore seem set to be in the frame to return against West Ham on April 2 – in gameweek 31. Judging by Ferguson’s statement, he could even be in with a chance of figuring in next weekend’s clash with Bolton. That game is of course dependent on positive result in United’s FA Cup tie with Arsenal this weekend. Should that end in a draw, the replay would postpone the Bolton clash and mean that the West Ham fixture in gameweek 31 will be United’s next league outing. Nani could therefore miss just one Premier League fixture.
Over56,000 managers in the Fantasy Premier League game have transferred out Nani from their squads so far this gameweek.
