With the injuries to key Premier League midfielders throughout the top-flight continuing to rack up by the week right now, Aston Villa’s run of upcoming fixtures (WOL, eve, NEW, whm, STK, wba, WIG) looks likely to offer further chances for the in-form and injury-free pair of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing to terrorise opposition defences.

Gerard Houllier’s side sit just two points above the drop zone and, with the likes of fellow strugglers Wolves and West Ham coming into form at this critical stage of the season, desperately need to start producing the goods if they are to guarantee survival. With just one clean sheet since gameweek 11, there‘s clearly little security at the back, a point Houllier has been critical of lately. Certainly, recent off-field events have indicated that all is not well amongst the club’s defenders, a fact Houllier must rectify as his side prepare for a crucial run-in.

    This Djourou news is annoying and promising at the same time. Annoying that in a sulk Wenger came out and said his season is over at the weekend, all managers do the same thing I accept, but lets wait and see what the medics think Arsene, instead of looking like even more of a prat than you usually do when you lose and coming out with that "news".

    I need a replacement for Kolarov, so this news is promising!

      My first choice of that lot would be VDV, but I know folk on here are arguing that Defoe has limited VDV's returns, and that Bale will suddenly start performing again, which may be the case.

      Still, VDV for set piece potential is the one I want, but his persistent injuries are starting to worry me.

    Thinking Djourou and Merieles > Walker and Albrighton this week so I can do Nasri and Tevez > Lampard and RVP next week..

      If you're going to put in Walker and Albrighton you might as well put in RVP as well this week and then just Nasri to Lampard the week after. Still an 8pt hit but at least you have RVP vs WBA rather than Tevez vs Chelsea.

                    Qh = 0.1 bathtubs / minute

                    Therefore Qh = 0.5 x Qc

                    So:

        I am playing Foster away and probably Huth too while benching Begovic and Carr. It has come to a stage where the formally resolute Stoke and Birmingham defences just can't be relied upon to get clean sheets so I am spreading the risk by playing 2 and benching 2.

        I think Foster has a better chance of points, as I really don't trust Stoke anymore.

          Foster is a pts machine and Huth has more chance of scoring than most strikers.

          May play Johnson if I don;t replace Djourou, but Bergovic remains benched for me as I have Huth.

    I'm heading for a cheap 3rd forward (like dirt cheap) and am just curious what the story is on Welbeck and if there are any guesses on his game time in the next while? Sunderland seem to have good-ish fixtures so it would seem a decent enough idea to get someone from that team. Any ideas?

      It takes 5 mins for cold and 10 for hot. Therefore you could get 2 cold baths ond one hot in 10 mins making 3 baths. We only need one bath so 10mins divided by 3 = 3mins 20 seconds.

    I'm not totally sold on this VdV love over here atm. Last few games I've seen him play he's barely made it through 60 minutes. Injury waiting to happen imo. He wasn't exactly freescoring before getting injured either.

    Bale, Adam and Nasri are better options imo.

    Hey guys,

    my main rival is 23p behind in my minileague.
    His front three will most likely be RVP,Tevez,Rooney(c)this week as he plans a hit.
    My current forwards are Zigic,Tevez,Berbatov

    A.Tevez or Berba>RVP
    B.Tevez or Berba>Rooney
    C.Tevez + Berba>RVP + Rooney

    Atm I prefer A (Tevez>RVP) as I don't like Manc's shortterm fixtures, but with getting Rooney I would be on the safer side.
