The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

As the masses eagerly await the qualifying results for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV, there’s still the matter of its sister competition to deal with. The Members’ Paddy Power Cup is now at the Round of 16 stage going into Gameweek 30, and as we announce those ties we’ll take a look at how the last round panned out…

If you take a look at the full set of results you’ll see some very mediocre scores (an average less than 37), and it’s a double-whammy for most of those eliminated this week, as it leaves them with no cup competition left to compete in.

There was one drawn tie in the round, as Alchi-traz‘s superior overall rank, sees him progress at the expense of Vanilla Kush F.C. His opponent in the next round will be kapitidave, who sneaked past fellow Dave, Dave Boozle, 33 – 32 in another closely contested tie.

Ten points clear as top-scorer for the week was canetoad, who easily beat Ghost 56 – 32 in what was the widest margin of victory in the round. The Round of 16 draw has him pitted against the joint-second highest-scorer for the week (with the second-widest margin of victory), Touch of Class, who beat Walky Talky 46 – 26.

The draw has also thrown out some other great ties, as the two top-ranked Fantasy Managers in the competition have been drawn out together. Zophar, sitting 26th in the world, reached this stage after a nail-biting 36 – 35 victory over Zod. His opponent, oi keano, who is only two points and five places behind Zophar in the overall standings, had far less difficulty in dumping roversnick 46 – 28 out of the competition.

The main rival for the ‘glamour tie of the round’, has the third and fifth highest-ranked Fantasy Managers squaring off. That’s FFS Cup III Champion and 135th in the world, Gooner dave (luckily guaranteed a first round berth in the other cup competition), up against top 1000 contender FC Super-Hans.

All eight ties can be viewed right here.

Good luck to the 16 of you going for a Quarter-Final spot. I’ll bring news of the results, accompanied with the Quarter-Final draw, a few days before the GW31 deadline.

Once again, the prizes for the competition, provided by Paddy Power, are a free £150 bet for the winner, £75 for the runner-up and £50 for third place.

If you’re not with Paddy Power yet, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10. (All offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.)

finding it hard to justify bringing in rvp this week and benching odemwingie- arsenal not exactly solid at the back, and hodgson surely knows he now needs to start edem?

I said the same to someone on here the other day, at home, and Arsenal are surely not flowing with confidence at the back, good opportunity to catch them on the bounce!

indeed.- could maybe move on tevez, or even bench him, but surely city have to start scoring goals sooner rather than later. cant stomach benching him

I might be wrong but do Arsenal not have one of the best away records in the league? I fancy them more away than at home sometimes.

Arsenal will win, RVP will outscore Odemwingie and he is a much better prospect for the future (injuries aside)..

    CRICKET

Just checked the cricket score now, and what's with Watson for Australia not getting any 100s and always getting out around 90? 😛 A real shame as I had him as captain. 🙁

he don't like to score 100's u should know that by now and he could have been out early in the innings so u should be happy that he scored that many points today....

bar the last game, he's struggled to get above 2 shots per game. hes very uninvolved...even in the last game, bar his goal he had only one shot on target, barring 3 blocked ones.

I think the appeal of Bent is he can score anytime. You're analysis is spot on- he's never impressed me on the pitch, just manages to be in the right place right time a bit. Also scored vs Wolves earlier this season- I always look at players history vs clubs and it's pretty accurate in judging their performance. He'll have confidence he can score against them

He can score anytime, meaning he has a record of scoring and you never know when he's going to pop up and get a goal.

Who can't? Maybe people who don't score many goals??

    WC team as it stands...

    Foster - begovic
    Luiz - Walker - Dawson - Bardsley - R Johnson
    A Young - VDV - Nani - Nasri - Adam
    Rooney - RVP - Welbeck
    (Bank - 0.3)

    Other option is

    Nasri/VDV/R Johnson Out
    Lampard/OHara/Carr in?

    Thoughts appreciated lads.

id bench either adam or dempsey. dempsey is now playing on the right side of midfield he's not up front anymore so not as effective. as for adam i dont see blackpool getting anything off blackburn the weekend as its a must win game at home for them, but ud never know adam mite sneek a goal r assist.
