With another seven days left until the deadline for Gameweek 4, there’s plenty time to ponder the numbers in our Members section. While some Fantasy managers still contemplate pressing the wildcard button, we take a look at some of the most notable attacking statistics on offer so far – in the first in a series of three articles, we begin with the defenders.
RMWCTNB
Mignolet, Bunn.
David Luiz, Vidic, Shaw, B.Turner, Chester.
Walcott, Oscar/Yaya, 2 x Redmond/Brady/Barkley, Ward-Prowse.
Van Persie, Soldado, Benteke.
About £0.5m in the bank depending on the dashes.Open ControlsGiroud will outscore RVP and is much cheaper. Giroud for RVP and upgrade mids!
Open ControlsNo shawshank redemption? And it's ok, I think Rvp destroys the balance.
Open ControlsI prefer Danny Boy over Soldado myself and another premium mid over a premium defender.
Open ControlsFor me the 2 big hitting def's are the problem as you would be looking at playing both at the same time and relying on no rotation/inj. Also to factor in with def's picking up more bonus thus maybe a 4 back line all adds to the conumdrum.
I'd look at some Wham coverage - Sam's teams are never going to be mullered and you could save a few £'s to upgrade Mid. Ward Prowse (good work in progress but 1st season) & Brady (dead ball situations) - 1 or the other IMO.Open Controls
Shawshank Redemption wins the Champions League of Movies after thrashing The Godfather 13-5 in the finals.
Here's the full list of 41 nominations - http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2013/09/07/the-big-numbers-gameweeks-1-3-defenders/?hc_page=3#hc_comment_5498099
Thank you everyone for participating....Open ControlsThanks for organising it mate - good time killer during this difficult time.
Open ControlsProbably one for later.... 😉
Open Controls
How did John Terry wind up in the credits for the Shawshank Redemption???
Open ControlsWhat's next?
Open ControlsHahaha
Open Controls
Never really got why Shawshank Redemption is so popular. It's one of those ones where everyone seems to say it is, so other people say so too perhaps? I mean it's not bad and all that, but pretty average really.
Open ControlsI didn't see it until way after the hype train so maybe that helped it not seem so great. Good but not all-time amazing.
Open ControlsI agree.
It is better than average but I am surprised it is anyone's favourite film. It benefits from having a wide appeal and a feel good ending.Open Controls
I made a IMDB List on mostly all the movies recommended here in the last 5 pages. I have probably missed some, so drop a comment there, or here, and I will add it. 🙂
http://www.imdb.com/list/sVfWhs5MOKk/Open ControlsOooh this deserves a sticky!
Great work 😉Open ControlsAll the hard work I've done is probably just gonna go to waste.......I thank God that the phrase 'Story of my life' doesn't fit here 🙂
Open Controls
I never got round to voting, but would have gone for a Charlie Kauffman film. Any chance of Being John Malkovich or Schenechtedy, New York?
Open Controls
Great fun, ENR. Thanks for organising.
Here's a really useful film website I use to journal all the movies I watch: http://letterboxd.com/
Useful app too which comes in handy when you are in the rental shop wondering if you've already seen that movie. 🙂Open Controls
Anyone here ranked inside 10K?
Open ControlsAnyone want to share their favourite opening line of a film?
I will start us off.
“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.” - Goodfellas.Open Controls"Choose life, choose a job, choose a career...etc." is one of my favourite starts to a film
Open ControlsIndeed, one of my favourites too.
Open Controls
“God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.I can't live with that.” - Dead Mans Shoes
Open Controls"All I have in this world is my balls and my word, and I don't break em for no one".
Open Controls"Listen, heres the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker'' - Rounders
Open ControlsUsed to play a lot of poker back in the day and loved Rounders when it came out.
Open Controls
When I was born, the world was a far simpler place. It was all just cops and robbers--Layer Cake
Open ControlsI can tell you the best ending line:
Well, nobody's perfect
-some like it hotOpen Controls
Too many Chelsea midfielders to pick from. Is Hazard the safer option?
Lampard/Oscar/Will.i.an all tempting.
Lamela or Eriksen to make the biggest impact at Spurs?Open ControlsL and L
Open ControlsI'm really stuck on Chelsea.
Every attacker seem risky compared to safer picks from other clubs.
But given the chances are they will be first or second, I want someone.
Think I'll wait till after Everton Away, Fulham derby game and Spurs away then decide.Open ControlsDecent strategy.
Open Controls
So is Rose nailed on for the Sours defence? A good buy? What do ye think?
Open ControlsBAE has been sent out on loan. So that's a yes from me.
Open ControlsMid in fpl 🙁
Open ControlsThat is a pain. Still a defender in most games thankfully.
Open Controls
Gooners would have been happy with your first version. 🙂
Open Controls
LUIS GUSTAVO wat a freakin GOAL..!!!!!!!!!!mercy...6-0 lUIS gustavo now english teams liking their choips for not geting him on the cheap
Open ControlsYeah, let's just laugh at those you can't argue with
Anyone can look legendary when up against avergaeOpen ControlsAny chance Rooney to be fit in time for Palace game?
Really need him in "the hole" so that Welbeck will play in LW and Nani still warms the bench
Rival bought Nani 😐Open ControlsRMWCT
.......Mignolet
Coleman walker zabaleta terry
Walcott Lampard silva
Benteke giroud sturridge
Bench: kelvin Davies ward-Prowse Chester BradyOpen ControlsHow does Andy put the poster back on the wall once he is inside the tunnel in The Shawshank Redemption? Always wondered
Open ControlsSticks it at the top, lets the bottom hang free I assume
Open ControlsIn the book, red was named after so because he had red hair. In the film he chewed big red gum. Could be gum. But also, Red does say he could get him 'anything' inside. Could be blu-tac
Open ControlsBut it seems attached all the way around when the warden rips it off...maybe though.
Open Controls
Haha no idea, great question. I think it's impossible but had to be done for the scene to work.
Open ControlsSticks both top corners then in the middle at the bottom, Then he could turn up either corner and pin it from the other side. 🙂
Open Controls
So, how long has Seamus Coleman looked like Gareth Bale?
Open ControlsAnd how long before Everton fans start using the chant "He's a cole man, da da daa da daa da da, Seamus Coleman, da daa da da"?
From the Blues Brothers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnaSRhMB_qoOpen Controls
"Are you watching closely?"
Which film's opening line was that?Open ControlsThe Prestige. Love Christopher Nolan
Open Controls😀
Open Controls
Prestige, I assume.
Open ControlsWatch with Mother?
Open ControlsYes we've seen Watch with Mother
Open Controls
Taking part in my first Draft League on Monday (10 teams, snake-style drafting, no budget)
Any advice from others who have gone through the draft process before? Common mistakes to avoid or strategies that are quite different from FPL thinking?Open ControlsHBA or Nani?
Open ControlsHBA
Open Controls
Once Champions League starts, will Lampard still be nailed on?
Open ControlsNone of us know to be honest 🙁
I have him and I'm a little worried. Still think he'll score wellOpen Controls
Do anyone consider Paulinho of Spurs?
How did he play? Box-to-box MF, I guess.
He's 7.0m and his stats seems attacking too.Open ControlsHe won't be as attacking with Eriksen and Lamela in the mix
Open Controls
Playing with my friends a draft league. (the player can not be owned by 2 teams)
My midfield now is:
Ozil. Michu. Lamela. Lampard. HBA. Hernandez. Mirallas
Considering Willian and Nani. Should I sign them before Someone else sign them if yes then who should I sell, Hernandez or HBA or Mirallas?Open ControlsPratik: Saving Private Ryan, The Last of the Mohicans, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Taking of Pelham 123 - all great films in their own right! 🙂
Open ControlsAdding all to the list now -:http://www.imdb.com/list/edit?list_id=sVfWhs5MOKk
Didn't know we were that serious. 🙂Open ControlsThe original 123 or the remake? Josey Wales was good also Pale Rider. Henry 5th, not the wartime version.
Open ControlsI did an essay on Saving private Ryan about ten years ago (comparing it with Picasso's Guernica)...I wrote away to the film makers for info...There's a lot, lot more to that film than people realise...a lot more...!!!
Open ControlsYeah, Based on real events relating to 4 actual brothers,
Open ControlsThe pack they sent me was massive...Scene after scene is real..even some of the most random small things...It's a giant of a film once you've seen all that stuff...
Open ControlsYeah, i watched a documentary with all these old americans who were involved in the D-Day landings and they were pretty much saying that Steven Spielberg really nailed it. They said the film was a genuine reflection of what is was actually like although they did get carried away with some things that happened in the film
Open Controls
All to do with Americas Sole Survival Policy,
Open ControlsOh yeah it's heavily American...Just as an example of the detail...When the car drives up the road to tell the mother that her sons have been killed and the mother drops to the floor...all true..and recounted from a tape recording during research from an interview...It wasn't the actual mother who did that but was a.n. other mother at another point in the war...But it just tells the story of what one mother did....The film is full of that stuff...
Open ControlsHave you seen the movie Come and See ?
Completely different but a good war film too.Open Controls
Will do for me either way! 🙂
Open ControlsRF
Open Controls
a) Lampard + Lamela
or
b) Hazard + MirallasOpen ControlsA easy easy
Open Controls
Any NFL fans on here? I have found myself getting interested in more and more sports this last year, NFL, NBA, Hockey...
Open ControlsChuffed to buggery with this one. (WC)
Mignolet
Ivanovic / Walker / Zabaleta
Brady / Oscar / Coutinho / Walcott
Benteke (vc) / Soldado (c) / Giroud
Lewis / Ward-Prowse / Turner / CollinsOpen ControlsHave to say I don't like Ivan, Oscar or Coutinho
Open ControlsI picked those defenders as they have attacking potential and are never afraid to get forward.
Courtinho is said to be moving to a more central role now Moses is at Liverpool and with the return of Suarez too.
Oscar, well he may look 5 years old but if he keeps his position in the hole then he is staying.Open Controls
Best C for GW 4 ?
A- Walcott
B- Benteke
C- Soldado
D- LambertOpen ControlsTekkers
Open Controls
Inglorious Basterds
Colonel Handa.
That is all.Open ControlsMignolet // £4m
Zabaleta // Enrique // Collins // Turner // Clyne
Walcott // Lampard // Lamela // HBA // Brady
Lambert // Benteke // GiroudOpen ControlsLamela a big gamble but I really like that team, it's near what I'm aiming for.
Open Controls
Confused...Just looked at Mirallas and Hernandez on the avg positions...Is Hernandez not playing wide anymore ?....
