In one of our most intriguing Members articles so far, I decided to investigate how players faired on a per minute basis when it comes to some of the vital statistics available in our Opta tables. Taking a look at Influence, Passing and Goal Threat, I investigate those players who recorded the most touches, passes, key passes, crosses and shots per minute in the Premier League so far.

The findings turned up several surprising statistics, with some major food for thought available to those considering a “route to recruit” for Cesc Fabregas this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm going for a very big gamble this week. Decided to double up with Everton and Chelsea defenders. My reasons?

    - Everton playing a tired Tottenham team whilst Everton are one of the form clean sheet teams
    - Can't see Chelsea conceding against a Wolves team who have only scored 3 goals away from home

    Cech (c)
    A Cole, Baines, Coleman, Vidic
    Gerrard, Arteta, Nani
    Berbatov, Carroll, K Davies

    Carson, Adam, Yaya, Gohouri

The last three games have been Man City, Arsenal and Aston Villa with only two goals scored in those games. Malouda will still do well against mid-low table teams, providing he gets the minutes he needs to do the damage.

I'd be worried if I didnt have malouda or drogba this weekend.

Drogba is fresher, having not played in the CL, but he's coming back from injury

I feel that malouda could do some serious damage, and he'll probably be a 'differential' captain since most will go with drogs, but he could also be subbed off pretty early

    Hi,
I have already made 5 trades this week (to get fabs in). I haven't used my wildcard yet.
If I use my wildcard today, would it mean that the 16 point hit goes away, or do the free transfers only apply after the wildcard is applied?

I know this question has been asked before, I couldn't find an answer on the fantasy rules/faq.

    Cheers

That's what I'm looking to do. Go with Essien for Malouda so I can afford Tevez and Fabs. Or would VDV/Arteta be a better bet than Essien? Don't like the idea of no Chelsea coverage in midfield.

If i want Drogba in this week and fabregas next week, i have to take 12 point hit no matter what.
Unless i stick with Malouda instead of Drogba.

        Foster Casrson
        Alex Richards Konchesky Elmo Dann
        Gerrard Malouda VDV Nzogbia Erthington
        Caroll Tevez Berbatov

My reason for taking this week is to captain Drogba and get the point haul to cover up the 12 point hit.

Risky. I'd captain Malouda before taking a hit like that.... then work Drogba in over a few weeks.

I have thought about that too,

But i am worried if i spread it over 3 weeks, i cant afford adam and Drogba anymore. I have extra 0.3 if i do it now

    Foster
    Terry, Jara, Mummy, (Hughes, Craddock)
    Nasri, Malouda, Nani, Adam, Ferguson
    Drogs, Carroll (Chamack)

    Am thinking:-
    This week
    Chamack > Tevez

    Next week
    Nasri > Fabs
    Malouda > Essien

It's the only way I can get both Tevez and Fabs. Am concerned about Essien's points potential though. Thoughts??

i share your essien concerns, but like the tevez and fabs switches... the three swaps leave you in a much stronger position imo...

You've got Drogs to cover Ch. Why not get Bale in instead of Essien and cover TH? Did you see Bales hat trick yesterday? He's getting more crosses in then most anybody to boot.

Transferred Bale out a couple of weeks ago. Feel his points haul will be significantly less with VDV's arrival. If I go TH I'll go with VDV but then I can't afford Tevez.

right... I was going to first suggest VDV before noticing you can't afford. But, you know, I wonder how different their points totals will be in the end as long as Bale maintains his midfield position?

agreed. Other reason for transferring Bale out was concern over his prolonged stay at LB. Looks like now though he's firmly implanted in midfield? Right?! God this game..!

What do people think of this decision

I will have 2 free trades next week (when Arsenal vs Wolves)

Should I make 3 trades (for a 4 point hit) to get Fabregas in? It won't involve losing anybody special (except Nasri)

or just make one trade, keep the two trades for the week after and keep Nasri?

    TL:DR

    Nasri + 4 Points
    or
    Fabregas

Who will outscore more in the Wolves game?

Arsenal play West Ham GW10 not Wolves.

It really depends how results are this weekend. If Fabregas dominates City and shows he's capable of his best form, then I say it's worth the hit. Also, there's the captaincy issue as well. Chelsea - Wolves and Tevez's performance will also likely affect whether I get Fabs in for a hit. Tevez plays Wolves away next, and if I feel like he's back on form and likely to score loads, I might just skip Fabs and captain him instead.

when the def doesnt play will i get odemwingie,s pts?
i have hangiland and dann as 2nd and 3rd subs.

I think you have to have a min. of 3 defenders on the pitch. If one of the 3 is out, your sub defender will sub in. Odemwingie would only come in if you have 3 fit defenders on the pitch. Check the FAQs to be sure.

I'm hanging onto Mal for now but, there are a lot of other good midfield options at the moment. The point was to get both Fabs and Tevez... I wouldn't want to be without those two come next week. Seems better investment then hanging onto Mal even if you take a points loss to do it.

            Could be another way?

Don't spend it on your strikers if those are the ones you have.

Use it to upgrade defense or midfield.

Camzy has a good point. You'll lose money trading Caroll out. Are you trying to free up cash for Fabs? Could wait until next week anyway, right?
