Sometimes us Fantasy Managers are just too fickle. Surely few of us lost faith in Charlie Adam? We know his influence in the Blackpool midfield – his role of quarterback, prompting every move of purpose with careful possession, launching instant attacks with raking 60-yard passes. We also know that Adam sits on free-kicks and penalties – today’s brace in the 2-2 draw at Ewood reminded us just how vital that can be.

We had all the information then, and yet, going into gameweek 30, only 1% of our Captain Poll voters fancied backing the balding ball-hogger, with heavyweight temptations like Wayne Rooney, Rafeal Van der Vaart and Nani drawing the eye.

I’m just as much to blame. Shamefully omitted form the Scout Picks behind the gameweek Fantasy failures Ashley Young and Samir Nasri, it’s almost as if Adam’s potential had slipped from memory.

Had a two-game suspension and an FA Cup break really wiped my brain? Had I mistakenly marked the data storing Adam’s achievements for “recycling” along with last week’s Masterchef winner and everything my girlfriend has ever told me?

That can’t be the case.

No, I’m only guilty of being fickle – banged to rights; distracted by bigger names and transient thrills that threw a smokescreen over Adam’s dependable potential.

Charlie is back now. Today’s points haul a sharp elbow in the ribs for the 140,000 Fantasy Premier League Managers who sold him on in recent gameweeks. A slap in the face for a Scout Picks selector seduced by erratic chancers like Villa’s Young.

And yet, I can’t guarantee that Adam will be back in my affections just yet. Can I squeeze him in my own star spangled midfield unit when it’s Fulham away and Arsenal at home to come next? Maybe.

That Arsenal game is the first of four consecutive Bloomfield Road matches – a spell that will surely guarantee that Adam’s price will rise quicker than his calorie count in May.

A new Adam bandwagon is rolling then. My memory banks safely restored. Fickle nature restrained.

By the way, Clint Dempsey scored tonight. Remember him? Didn’t he win Masterchef?

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ah, you see, that is why it is good to have

      1) a crap computer which does not show the captain poll at all, and
      2) very little money in the bank which means that i could not afford rooney

      lucky me

Ah, but the bookies have loads of bets a day to even the score, we only have one stab at it in a week.

Still, my own fault for not following my instincts!

On 58 with sub Begovic, with Tevez, Silva and Lolarov to play. But I want one any of these players to not play so I can get Odem's 8 points off the bench. Being a Chelsea supporter, tomorrow's game will be awkward in terms of fantasy and real life.

I know, I've been saying all week that we'd give Arsenal a good game, but most seemed to think they'd batter us and Van Persie would run the show.

Honestly, and I'm one of his biggest fans but he was very poor, whether that is down to injuries or just our defence all being brilliant but how he got 3 bonus is beyond me!

All the better for me i s'pose. Just hoping that his goal remains standing now. I notice that Drogba's goal in GW5 was removed about 15gws later, but his pts tally was untouched, hopefully the same will apply for RVP. And yes he was poor, but he was so heavily involved, and apparently nowadays that is all that is required to get 3bp

He wasn't even heavily involved, wasn't on the ball much, I barely noticed he was playing tbh. Wilshere and Nasri were the ones running things for Arsenal.

eurgh Nasri 1pt. From the BBC live text RVP was missing all sorts of shots, seemed quite lively. And the previous article about Member's Opta stats did hint that he was heavily involved

Bendtner changed the game for Arsenal. He gave them more in the air which we couldn't deal with. Our centre backs really did have Van Persie sorted for the majority of the game, he was having a lot of shots but from areas where he really didn't have much chance of scoring from.

I love him, think he's a brilliant player but by his standards today he was one of Arsenal's worst players imo, apart from the defence and Almunia of course! 😀

69, with no points hits for me today, with Lamps and Tevez tomorrow. Finally a GW where I make decent progress, up almost 7500k places.

Lol. First there is a huge scramble to bring him in. 2pts later, there begins a scramble to get rid of him.

Sell in GW33 if at all. And Torres? No No No

I don't have Rooney, but selling a player in patchy form for a striker totally out of form (and hasn't scored in his last 7 games) doesn't quite make sense.

Stoke won't be easy for Chelsea. The dgw looks quite appealing though, by which time Kolarov, Tevez and a midfielder will all be out to fund Lamps.

Haven't seen it discussed, what's the consensus on Bendtner's assist for RVP's goal? Assuming it stays as an RVP goal, shouldn't Bendy get the assist?

Pssst. Nobody cares because nobody else has Bendtner.

Seriously though, I have no idea. According to the BBC live text it should have been credited to Arshavin but the BBC live text is demented as has no idea what is going on. No idea mate

He wont get the assist as he never touched it, Arshavin's cross hit post and Meite then failed to clear it

I watched it, but it was a little unclear whether it came off Bendtner (and if so which part of his body) or the post.
