Sometimes us Fantasy Managers are just too fickle. Surely few of us lost faith in Charlie Adam? We know his influence in the Blackpool midfield – his role of quarterback, prompting every move of purpose with careful possession, launching instant attacks with raking 60-yard passes. We also know that Adam sits on free-kicks and penalties – today’s brace in the 2-2 draw at Ewood reminded us just how vital that can be.

We had all the information then, and yet, going into gameweek 30, only 1% of our Captain Poll voters fancied backing the balding ball-hogger, with heavyweight temptations like Wayne Rooney, Rafeal Van der Vaart and Nani drawing the eye.

I’m just as much to blame. Shamefully omitted form the Scout Picks behind the gameweek Fantasy failures Ashley Young and Samir Nasri, it’s almost as if Adam’s potential had slipped from memory.

Had a two-game suspension and an FA Cup break really wiped my brain? Had I mistakenly marked the data storing Adam’s achievements for “recycling” along with last week’s Masterchef winner and everything my girlfriend has ever told me?

That can’t be the case.

No, I’m only guilty of being fickle – banged to rights; distracted by bigger names and transient thrills that threw a smokescreen over Adam’s dependable potential.

Charlie is back now. Today’s points haul a sharp elbow in the ribs for the 140,000 Fantasy Premier League Managers who sold him on in recent gameweeks. A slap in the face for a Scout Picks selector seduced by erratic chancers like Villa’s Young.

And yet, I can’t guarantee that Adam will be back in my affections just yet. Can I squeeze him in my own star spangled midfield unit when it’s Fulham away and Arsenal at home to come next? Maybe.

That Arsenal game is the first of four consecutive Bloomfield Road matches – a spell that will surely guarantee that Adam’s price will rise quicker than his calorie count in May.

A new Adam bandwagon is rolling then. My memory banks safely restored. Fickle nature restrained.

By the way, Clint Dempsey scored tonight. Remember him? Didn’t he win Masterchef?

Probably not many have him but Jose Enrique went off with a hamstring injury today, so could be out a few weeks.
He's almost certainly leaving in the summer too, dark days. Hope he goes back to Spain.

From a pretty reputable Newcastle United blog:

There is stories tonight suggesting two toon stars missed Newcastle United’s clash against Stoke City due to a hangover from the night before. Claims have been made tonight the both Leon Best and Stephen Ireland were spotted in a Newcastle nightclub in the city centre on Friday night. This story has developed as both players didn’t play at Stoke in the 4-0 defeat.

The toon boss Alan Pardew was asked about these claims and this is what he told us: “That is a situation I have to look at on Monday morning. It is news to me. It is not an ideal situation when you have a game on Saturday even though they are injured. I will look at that.”

Total FPL is an absolute disgrace.
Earlier tonight some users (mods included) were using offensive terms ('mong' in particular) to call other users, just for cheap laughs.

When i asked them to stop as it was offensive i was initially banned, then as i wouldn't back down when the ban was lifted, i have been banished!

It's an absolute disgrace that the mods who are meant to ensure the safe and proper use of the site to not only allow this kind of talk to take place, but to also participate in it. Not only that, but instead of taking action against those who are using these vile terms, they take action against someone who talks out against it!

Total FPL is a site that's open to everyone - children / minors included. What hope has socitety have if this kind of thing is allowed to go on?

    Unfortunatley i have no way of contacting Frank as i am now banished! Can't send any messages - public or private to mods, and there aren't any contact details for site admin there.
    
    My life is a better place without having those type of people in it, but i'm so angry that this is allowed to go on and that they punish someone who speaks against it rather than the lowlives that lower the standard of an otherwise fairly decent site.

    I guess so, but youtube is properly regulated. You have responsible people moderating the site, and you can contact them with any issues to report. This isn't true for Total FPL unfortunatley - when you complain / report an issue it seems they ban the person making the complaint!
    After the ban there's no way of contacting any of the moderators on the site.
    
    As a result i'm having to turn to other sites (like this one) to raise the issue, and having had to report the site to an independent website watchdog.

      Skipping a group in the hits is the current plan i.e 1 hit = 40 this week instead of 36 instead of 2 hits etc meaning if you take a hit either make sure it scores more than 4 more or the remaining 10 players do better than average.

Once you get into the top couple of thousand I find it's hard to go up or fall down. Seems no matter what score I get, ranking doesn't change much...

  I hate it how I got a score 20 above the average and I only went up 5 thousand places. From 54k to 49k. You'd think it would be more than that

  Im on my 4th red arrow in a row. Dropped from 45th to 330th. If you told me 6 months ago i'd be 330th id be over the moon but now i just feel dissappointed every week. Got more to lose i think if youre right in there for a bit. Im feeling the pressure!

    I was so close to getting Defoe. I went to bed hearing that he missed a few chances so I was fuming because I thought he'd sink one. I got up for the 3 pm kickoffs and he didn't score. So I was happy.
    
    Plus I love my inspired 3 minute before the deadline Vidic->Baines transfer!

        I was extremely concerned about my judgement when I saw he was starting, then was extremely nervous when he hit the bar and missed a few chances. I couldn't sleep! Plus it would have resulted in me taking a hit for getting Defoe so it worked, thank God.

      Surprisingly I am not too pissed off about it. He had more than ample opportunity to score - I would have been in much more pain had I not brought him in and he had scored a hatrick, especially after mulling it over all week.
