Gameweek 8 sees the launch of the latest team competition for the Fantasy Football Scout community organised by FFS UEFA. Following the success of last season’s ICC-themed cricket tournament, the group have created FFS Beach Soccer World Cup 2013, with 16 teams, each comprised of 11 players, competing for the crown.

If you’re new to the concept and are wondering just what all the chatter has been about, here’s a link to their site which will help explain matters in a little more detail.

Essentially, the scoring is based around the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

Each team started scouting for players (ie, FPL managers) on Sunday, October 6 and the recruitment period will come to a close on Wednesday, October 16, with the roster of team players announced on Thursday, October 17.

The teams are led by a captain and vice-captain and guided by a manager, who decide which seven of their 11 players to field each week – depending on the perceived prospects of their FPL line-ups -and which four to bench. Their overall FPL scores for the Gameweek, with hits taken into account, will form the team’s score that week – by outscoring their opponents, they chalk up a win.

The first match in Gameweek 8 will be no more than a friendly before the main event gets underway the following weekend. This sees the 16 teams compete in four groups of four between Gameweek 9 and 11 – the top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stages, where sides square up in a head-to-head elimination process from Gameweek 12 until the final in Gameweek 15. Team Russia ladies and gentlemen.

First their captain comes to our headquarters in Senegal offering us bucket loads of cash to take multiple hits so that we don't manage to get out of the group stages (we are still negotiating and haven't declined this offer mind) and then in a desperate attempt, their manager Pepin strips, and catches and begs our manager Christina to accept the offer.

Live from 5 star Rhino resort and spa, Mbour(Saly),

Press are hiding in team captain Tommytour's room at the resort where Senegoal have for the last 5 days been indulging in excessive drinking and late night skinny dipping.

It's Christina's 43rd birthday today and the team has organised a surprise party and birthday cake baked by Epic Fail's missus. While the team and press are hiding in the room, star player Forca has called Christina to help calm down Evs who has supposedly broken down after Champ discovered some pictures of Ukrainian mail order brides in Evs's bag with speedo's.

While Christina is helping himself to a piece of birthday cake Forca is being interviewed by the press.

Reporter 1: Forca, is it true that Senegoal signed players prior to the recruitement period?

Forca: Sometimes i just can't controle myself and my fingers are fastier than my brain.I dont see any fun too go with rules. Other managers are simply jeloaus cause Christina managed to recruit 11 out of 11 targets in less than day.I dont like this sort of trash talk seems like UEFA chounchil is allowed to have double standards while others are not totally unfair and immature people calling Christina cheater and true cheaters hiding behind Counchill chair.

Reporter 2: Why did you join Senegoal, when Tahiti wants you so badly?

Forca: Tahiti team didnt suit me at all , they wasn't at my level i'd rather be in same team with people who are more arrogant and more funny , just like myself Enr and Daniel , are nice lad , almsot too nice but when it comes to leadership i'd rather be in team with some real characther with better perssonality, theie ego is not strong enough.

Reporter1: What do you think Senegoal's chances are in this tournament?

Forca: We will easily dominate this bitch soccer fotty tournament. Jelaous is a bad habbit , other will never be at our level no matter how hard they trying

Reporter 2: Christina, any friendly confirmed?
Christina: Speaking with cake in mouth…not yet, we are in negotiations with Bribery Coast, El Salvabore and some or other set of islands where the sun never shines. The remains of three US Marines killed during the Pacific campaign of World War II have been found in someone's backyard on the bloody islands so the friendly is in serious jeopardy at the moment.

Senegoal and Russia bribing negotiating update.

After Pepin getting desperate, team Senegoal decided to put team Russia out of its misery. A call was made to VC Triggerlips and 4 hours later Triggerlips was seen arriving at the Senegoal headquarters.

Also spotted with Triggerlips and this young gang were a bevy of Russian Tennis superstars. Sharapova let this gang along with Elena Dementieva, Anna Kournikova, Elena Bovina, Anna Chakvetadze and a few others.

Evs seem to have stormed out of the team meeting on the grounds of morality and team ethic when the team had decided to advance negotiations with team Russia but it is widely reported that Sharapova took matters into her own hands to calm this down.

Apart from this my achievement is currently im ranked 1st in TotalFPL community and 20th in England and 14th in FFS scout community league in UCL fantasy this year so far.
Its under name [The Chosen One] in UCL.
Apart from this I have also drafted very good players in my team for upcoming GW's in FPL.
Also its worth mentioning that Team Solomon did shortlist me for a final spot in their team but just couldnt make the final cut.
I hope u get the exact picture of me.
To sum up Im eager to win the tourney with Team Spain by beating the Best guyz around.

Would anyone be interested, if I were to organise an Under - 21 Beach Soccer comp to accommodate for all the poor lads who are missing out on this? ( like myself 😉 ) It will probably be a 5 a side thing. With the same nations as the current comp.
and possibly, the winner of the U21s playing the winners of the Current Beach Soccer comp over 3 GWs or something along the line of that.

I've been lead to believe that Daniel is the organiser of the Beach Soccer Comp? If so, would anyone know how I might contact him? Wish to speak to him about this. Don't want to go ahead with this idea without his permission.

If this all goes ahead, and in the unlikely event that I do get picked for a team (which would be fantastic 😆 ), I'll just hand the "Organiser" role over to someone else.

  Saw this idea being floated yesterday. Not so sure about it.
  
  To start with, you'd need to find managers who are not in the Beach Soccer comp. Whilst quite a few regulars who missed out would be up for it, finding 176 interested managers may be a big ask.
  
  You may also need another FFS thread to discuss the U21 comp because it won't be allowed on the main FFS forum and it wouldn't be a good idea to post all that stuff here or it will get confusing.

Don't know if I'm speaking on behalf of those that are not involved in this Beach thing (seem to be plenty that are not), but I sincerely hope that those that are organising this are gracious enough to sort out a posting area away from the main 'community' area. Certainly the 'in' jokes will be lost on a lot of us.

All this tournament has done in my opinion is develop the gap between the 'in' crowd and those either recently active on here, those potentially wanting to get involved more, lurkers etc. There is surely some potential to sort out a competition that involves everybody that contributes on here.

  It is basically impossible to arrange a competition which includes everyone, people will always miss out. However the FFS Uefa FA Cup game included a huge number of people, I don't imagine there were many people that missed out on that one.

        i can understand what you say about feeling it is a bit of a closed shop but honestly it isnt, i also felt that first year i came on here, but have seen how the guys hve went out their way to widen opportunities for all. It is only natural that some people will be in all the tournaments the organise as they dedicate more time to here and also contribute alot. I cant see how they can do more to include everyone with limited resources and time they have.

        hey brother, this Beach stuff is separated. The Moderators took good care of it. And, the people gossiping around here are some of the most active members of this site, who not only keep this thread running but also the usual one of the Premier League....
        
        I followed this site before, but, started actively following it from the start of this season..... And people were Friendly enough to give me a spot in a team too...
        
        And FYI, Many who are already in a team are trying to figure out an easier way to accommodate the ones who have missed out, specially ENR (a member here).... so, u can't blame anyone actually....
