Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the eighth instalment of our open-to-all, free-to-enter Cup competition, sponsored by Paddy Power.

This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty (no, really), Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch and reigning champion, Wild Rover – in our hall of fame.

Seasoned veterans can click here to submit their entry. For full details of when it starts and the prizes on offer, read on…

What is the Paddy Power Cup?

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday November 11 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1017 (plus 7 previous winners who will earn a bye if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 11 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 12. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 12

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 11
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Gameweek 18 – Break
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 19
  • Gameweek 20 – Break
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 23
  • Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 24

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the top scoring manager from each round will win a £25 free bet from Paddy Power on supply of their Paddy Power username.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from the tournament.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

(re-post, fifth from bottom on last page)

Delighted to be in the top 20k after a solid gameweek, but need help in keeping the momentum going.

Have Michu, Vidic, and Evra that I wouldn't mind getting rid of. Evra is dropping for sure and Vidic may fall as well.

Michu has to go, ideally in the next hour. For whom? Anyone besides Oscar, Haz, or Silva worth considering?

As for the ManU defenders, is it worth dropping one of them for a hit? I'm thinking I'd bring in Terry who's sure to vastly outperform Vidic or Evra over the coming weeks. What do you guys think?

I think Silva is worth getting ay. Sunderland this weekend could be another rout. I'd hold onto your defenders for another week but if you're not keen on that then Vidic -> Terry is alright.

I currently have an addiction to being wrong but Silva is not worth 9.4 imho. His goal v Nor was typical of his finishes i.e. the keeper should have stopped it.

Not a clue tbh. The only conclusion I've come to is to change my mind about Michu.

I find big hitting mids like women: unpredicable, moody and complicated.

Have 2 transfers to spare but not a clue how to use them.

I've wanted to get rid of Nolan for sometime but there isn't anyone screaming out I be transferred in. I could get Silva although he's not essential since i have Aguero. Chelsea mids are also an option but their rotation threat is always a risk.

I've hung onto Collins far too long. A West Ham or Brim seem a good shout. However, I already have 4 defended with great fixtures.

What you do with this mob?

    Boruc
    Clyne, Terry, Toure, Chico (Collins)
    Ozil, Ramsey, Januzaj (Brady, Nolan)
    Aguero, Sturridge, Rooney

Gerrard - unbelievable home fixtures, set pieces, guaranteed 90, pretty consistent scoring, can get a goal from open play the odd time. Owned by 6.6%. Already have Suarez.

Hazard - one of the best attacking players in the league, ok fixtures, prone to the the odd rest/early sub, explosive, no other chelsea coverage.

Which one should i go for? My gut is urging me to go for Gerrard but my head leaning towards hazard. There just isn't that reliability with hazard i find..

500 points 101.7 TV. Looking bleak for a top 50,000 rank at the moment.

    Any advice for thi team:

Do not change a thing IMO.

Your team value is on the rise!

Nice strike-force, not sure I like the triple cheap midfielders but your biggest problem for me is the defence. I would drop a Southampton defender.

My rival said this to me yesterday:

"Benteke was a bad move I think"

(In relation to me bringing him in for Giroud)

He captained Lukaku this week... and had triple Saints defence.

    I am still laughing 😛

Fook it getting Coutinho for Michu, even though I already have SAS. Then transferring Sturridge out next week

I'm going to wait I think. He's over 100% to drop now, must stay strong lol.

Nice grav! Contemplating that move myself, thinking of doing it right now. Chance of rotation but Ravel 1st sub so not too badly off provided he doesn't cameo if dropped.

Thanks for the reply, I will probably have Ravel starting again as my midfield is quite weak.
