Undeterred by last week’s miserable performance from our tenner – I’m going back in for another round with our friends at Paddy Power to back some of my selections from the gameweek’s Scout Picks. Read on to discover where the cash is being blown this time…

Starting at the back, I’ve opted for Blackburn’s Chris Samba’s goal threat from set-pieces, so it’s only right that I back that with some of my Flutter funds. Paddy are tempting us with odds of 9/1 on Samba scoring with a header against Birmingham – I’ll throw a couple of quid their way on that one.

Moving into midfield and we’ve got a good few goalscoring options to choose from. Both Frank Lampard and Rafael Van der Vaart will go into attractive home fixtures with plenty of Fantasy backing – I’ll reinforce that with a quid each on Paddy’s Scout Speicials. We can get 3/1 on Lampard to hit a brace against Wigan, with 15/2 on Van der Vaart doing the same when Stoke arrive at the Lane.

Daniel Sturridge is perhaps as surprise name in the Scout Picks but I’m confident that, given his recent performances, he’ll find the net against the Hammers at the Reebok. Sturridge is yet to score a brace for Bolton but, with odds of 17/2 available on that against Avram Grant’s side, I’ll take a real put on this, placing a healthy £3 on this one.

We’ve combined two of Big Dunc’s differentials for our next bet – look out for his full article later. In past weeks this has been a breeding ground for Fantasy returns, having promoted Bobby Zamora and Adam Johnson last weekend. This time around I’m following Dunc’s sage-like words and putting a few quid on Junior Hoilett and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. Paddy are offering 10/1 on the pair both scoring this weekend – we’ll put a quid on that one and another on odds of 33/1 on a Hoilett brace against Birmingham. You can get further odds on Ebanks-Blake here.

As usual we’ll end our flutter by chucking our final funds on our Clean Sheet Accumulator – we can get 8/1 on shutouts for Tottenham, Blackburn and Chelsea in their home games this weekend.

That’s about it. The cupboard is bare. Lose this week and Granville and the kids go hungry (Hungary?). Give generously Paddy.

With the Grand National this weekend, this could be the time to break your Paddy Power cherry. They are still offering £20 of bets for free for those who sign-up and bet a tenner. Click here to get involved.

This offer is only available to those aged 18 and over and is subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Congratulations on continuous improvements to your rank. If you've stuck with Drogba for 31 weeks, it's all the more impressive. I backed out weeks ago after holding on too long.

Dangerous game, covering a chaser. You can easily both lose ground to a third party by spending too much time covering each others' moves. I just pick my best XI each week and aim to improve my overall ranking. If that gets me the lead in a minileague, so be it. One tactic I did have in mind was to save a wildcard then on the last week of the season, play it to match my rival's team, preventing him catching me in the last week.

No offense intended ... but aren't RMTs the *exact* opposite of what fantasy sports are about?

Asking about a player, sure. Asking for someone to dictate your team/trades ... Epic Weak.

Play the game - start who you think is a better punt ... reap the rewards/punishment. At least it will belong to you.

Now ... Fabs or Drogs? 😉

Hell Yeah ... that's why I'm not afraid of point-hits ... sure, you're rank might suffer, but who would want to set up the 'perfect team' and let it sit for 38 weeks?

Trades and shifting the (c) are the fun; all the better when it's your call.

Asking supporters about how their team operates in order to get insight into moves = yes!

Asking others to set up your team so you can score better with minimal investment = weak.

Play the game! Have fun! Why let (overall) rank get into your brain-o?

Folks around here insist Lamps is 'necessary' - but many have been predicting Torres for 6 weeks, too.

Mostly how you're doing in your mini-league that dictates moves.

Comfortably winning my mini-league and decimating my main rival, so nothing is absolutely required. I'm getting impatient with VDV and Nasri, but I'm inclined to hold Nasri for next week's DGW. Ramirez does interest me, but I'm fearful of rotation. I like to look ahead several gameweeks when doing transfers and Lampard just looks like a points haul when you look at their fixtures over next 3 GW's. Does anyone believe that Ancellotti would be sinister enough to rest Lamps?

Captain RVP; against a poorer defence and certain to play a full game.

Bench Coleman: Everton are crap away from home and he's an injury doubt. Bburn are solidish at home and playing a poor attacking team. Samba's also a goal threat and bonus magnet.

It's all predictions of course - when it comes to the press predictions however, I wonder how much thought process goes into their lineups. We deliberate a lot on our predicitions because every little change can matter to Fantasy Managers and it matters to us that we get as close as possible to the correct lineup.

Don't agree with them on that or Ivanovic - they also say Rio to start for United. They're not great for thinking out of the box sometimes.

Guardian squad sheets are shocking in general! Wouldn't listen to a thing they say.

For some inexplicable reason they don't think Elmander will start this w/e.

I'd have to say Foster has more chance of the cleanie...although both will probably have to make do with Save Points this week and Begovic might top him for those. We're talking a likely 1 point swing for Save Points though.

Anyone think Tevez could do well against a patched up Liverpool defence?

I remember an old article on here saying Citeh play better away from home (I may be imagining this)
