Undeterred by last week’s miserable performance from our tenner – I’m going back in for another round with our friends at Paddy Power to back some of my selections from the gameweek’s Scout Picks. Read on to discover where the cash is being blown this time…

Starting at the back, I’ve opted for Blackburn’s Chris Samba’s goal threat from set-pieces, so it’s only right that I back that with some of my Flutter funds. Paddy are tempting us with odds of 9/1 on Samba scoring with a header against Birmingham – I’ll throw a couple of quid their way on that one.

Moving into midfield and we’ve got a good few goalscoring options to choose from. Both Frank Lampard and Rafael Van der Vaart will go into attractive home fixtures with plenty of Fantasy backing – I’ll reinforce that with a quid each on Paddy’s Scout Speicials. We can get 3/1 on Lampard to hit a brace against Wigan, with 15/2 on Van der Vaart doing the same when Stoke arrive at the Lane.

Daniel Sturridge is perhaps as surprise name in the Scout Picks but I’m confident that, given his recent performances, he’ll find the net against the Hammers at the Reebok. Sturridge is yet to score a brace for Bolton but, with odds of 17/2 available on that against Avram Grant’s side, I’ll take a real put on this, placing a healthy £3 on this one.

We’ve combined two of Big Dunc’s differentials for our next bet – look out for his full article later. In past weeks this has been a breeding ground for Fantasy returns, having promoted Bobby Zamora and Adam Johnson last weekend. This time around I’m following Dunc’s sage-like words and putting a few quid on Junior Hoilett and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. Paddy are offering 10/1 on the pair both scoring this weekend – we’ll put a quid on that one and another on odds of 33/1 on a Hoilett brace against Birmingham. You can get further odds on Ebanks-Blake here.

As usual we’ll end our flutter by chucking our final funds on our Clean Sheet Accumulator – we can get 8/1 on shutouts for Tottenham, Blackburn and Chelsea in their home games this weekend.

That’s about it. The cupboard is bare. Lose this week and Granville and the kids go hungry (Hungary?). Give generously Paddy.

With the Grand National this weekend, this could be the time to break your Paddy Power cherry. They are still offering £20 of bets for free for those who sign-up and bet a tenner. Click here to get involved.

This offer is only available to those aged 18 and over and is subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      RVP - lethal, on form, Blackpool leak goals, Arsenal only chasing league so has to play.

      Lamps - Will he play full 90 if Chelsea storm ahead? This is the exact kind of game where Chelsea win 6-0 and Lamps gets 20 points.

      RVP by a smidge.

    Saha, Rooney, Bentley OUT
    Lampard, Gyan, Welbeck IN

    Hinges on whether Bentley is fit for the double and is likely to play. If he is, one option I could do is Nolan out instead of Bentley and Sturridge in instead of Welbeck, then I get the Sturridge double in a few weeks too. Anyone got any idea about Bentley's fitness?

            People generally do have big hatred for Torres on this site. I remember when he scored a blank against Wolves at home, the hatred was big and very unfair imo.

            The week after I actually said I was going to captain him over Tevez who was at home to Blackpool and got slated for it, guess who got more points?

            Unfortunately I did get talked out of it but meh.

      I've got the same goalie choice and I'm going for Foster; slightly higher chance of a clean sheet and for some reason Foster seems to be a saves magnet. I think I'd go with Coleman too. If he doesn't start, he'll be autosubbed and they're so short of players, if he's fit, they'll try and get him to start I think.

          Naa just bored of this season to be honest. Need some liveliness. Fairly level in one mini-league, but my FPL team is not really important for the rest of this season now, only thing I have got is FFS H2H 7, looking for promotion.

    Van Der Vaart...2 goals, 2 assists since Boxing Day (and NOTHING for 2 months now) and pretty much guaranteed limited pitch time this weekend. His team are also sandwiched between 2 European Cup ties.

    What's with all the love? (FFS & Total FPL picks).

    Stoke will win 1-0 again.

    Right lads, the team is linked again.

    Chesney --> Mignolet is one.
    Rooney --> Drogba is two. (Not necessary but I fancy The Drog to score well)
    Kolarov --> Luiz is three.

    However, I'm 0.3 short so need to take a 12 point hit 😕
    So should I risk and get Walcott for VDV, or downgrade Coleman to fund it?

    Feeling like a maverick this week.

      I would get Torres (Well I did), instead of Drogba, that way you will have the funds. I did Lolarov -> Luiz also. And Adam -> Barton. Thats what I would do basically. Just saying. I even had the funds for Drogba. Actually. Get Drogba, EVERY 50/50 decision this year has gone against me.

        Yeah, his only use is the possibility of a double in gw33 and that he frees up an extra million over Nolan, which would allow me to maybe do Sturridge in instead of Welbeck. There's too many cheap and good value strikers around- makes it so hard to pick! Hopefully it'll become clearer in the morning. Good night!

    Apologies for the repost, blame the guinness:
    Head v heart problem again.
    Head says foster, heart says chech. foster is way cheaper and gets loads of save points. Chech costs more but his fixtures are so much more attractive. Am swaying towards chech but that much for a keeper just don’t seem right.
    Alternatively,
    Keep hart and get Mignolet as my second keeper. I'm stumped.
