Undeterred by last week’s miserable performance from our tenner – I’m going back in for another round with our friends at Paddy Power to back some of my selections from the gameweek’s Scout Picks. Read on to discover where the cash is being blown this time…

Starting at the back, I’ve opted for Blackburn’s Chris Samba’s goal threat from set-pieces, so it’s only right that I back that with some of my Flutter funds. Paddy are tempting us with odds of 9/1 on Samba scoring with a header against Birmingham – I’ll throw a couple of quid their way on that one.

Moving into midfield and we’ve got a good few goalscoring options to choose from. Both Frank Lampard and Rafael Van der Vaart will go into attractive home fixtures with plenty of Fantasy backing – I’ll reinforce that with a quid each on Paddy’s Scout Speicials. We can get 3/1 on Lampard to hit a brace against Wigan, with 15/2 on Van der Vaart doing the same when Stoke arrive at the Lane.

Daniel Sturridge is perhaps as surprise name in the Scout Picks but I’m confident that, given his recent performances, he’ll find the net against the Hammers at the Reebok. Sturridge is yet to score a brace for Bolton but, with odds of 17/2 available on that against Avram Grant’s side, I’ll take a real put on this, placing a healthy £3 on this one.

We’ve combined two of Big Dunc’s differentials for our next bet – look out for his full article later. In past weeks this has been a breeding ground for Fantasy returns, having promoted Bobby Zamora and Adam Johnson last weekend. This time around I’m following Dunc’s sage-like words and putting a few quid on Junior Hoilett and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. Paddy are offering 10/1 on the pair both scoring this weekend – we’ll put a quid on that one and another on odds of 33/1 on a Hoilett brace against Birmingham. You can get further odds on Ebanks-Blake here.

As usual we’ll end our flutter by chucking our final funds on our Clean Sheet Accumulator – we can get 8/1 on shutouts for Tottenham, Blackburn and Chelsea in their home games this weekend.

That’s about it. The cupboard is bare. Lose this week and Granville and the kids go hungry (Hungary?). Give generously Paddy.

With the Grand National this weekend, this could be the time to break your Paddy Power cherry. They are still offering £20 of bets for free for those who sign-up and bet a tenner. Click here to get involved.

This offer is only available to those aged 18 and over and is subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Nani - Lampard - VDV - A.Young - Nasri

Who to bench Adam or Barton?

    Foster (Hart)
    Baines, R.Johnson, Luiz (Coleman, Djourou)
    VDV, Adam/Barton, Nasri, Nani
    Drogba, Odemwingie, RVP (C)

Tough one. Blackpool have been struggling for goals, so I'd bench Adam.

That said, I think I'd play both, and bench Odemwingie.

        Ok it;s a coin toss.
Odemwingie is on form and I lost points benching him last two weeks. I brought in Drogba this week. I would look to get Zamora in GW34.

    Huge Huge dilemma this week...

    A) OUT: Thomas & Rooney... IN: Ebanks & Fabregas

    B) OUT: Thomas & Rooney... IN: Bent & O'Hara

    C) OUT: Zigic & Rooney... IN... Drogba & Sturridge

      C) has a big risk on Drogba, but it looks very interesting bet.

But A) and B) are interesting too.. Sorry, this may not help.

My gut instict was A, that's what I've been flirting with all week.

Now that crunch time has come, I'm tying myself in knots coming up with different options.

Although the double is tempting with Fabregas, I'm thinking it's a huge risk due to their tough games and his proneness to injury.

Drogba looked good against United on wednesday, but why did he get subbed? Will he be rested this weekend as they have alot of options?. He's had 7 shots (1 on target) in the last 2 league games so he's definetely in the mix.

        Argghhh... what do you think?

I presume Rooney's coming out to fund Fabregas... So, who are you going to bring in up front for Rooney?

That's good to know, mate. I much prefer Chelsea's fixtures to Arsenals... but the champs league involvement is cocking it up with fear of player rotation!

            You've gone Drogba yeah?

It's a logical choice. Could easily outscore Lampard and easy replacement for Rooney.

Anybody have thoughts on my team? I'm basically tossing a coin for the keeper...

    Friedel (Foster)
    Baines, Luiz, Huth (Elokobi, Coleman)
    Lampoard, nasri, Downing, Adam (Bentley)
    van Persie (c), Bent, Odemwingie

      Good team. I'd play Friedel.

I'd also have a long think about Huth vs Coleman, both have their merits.

I don't want to play Coleman in case he only gets half a game, and since I'm already playing Baines. I was actually wondering if Elokobi deserved to be my 3rd defender.

If you believe both GKs will concede, I'd go for save points from Foster.

I'm feeling your pain on Zigic. I have him too, but why are you determined to get rid of rooney. If you put a gun to my head I would do B. I still think Zigic could come good if he is fit enough for the double

Any guys with championship knowledge around? I'd need help with a few games, so if you could give your predictions it would be nice 🙂

home, away, draw is enough no scores needed...

    Sc'nthorpe v QPR
    Watford v Hull
    DOncaster v Cardiff
    Millwall v Leeds
    Leicester v Burnley
    Nottingham v Reading
    Sheff Utd v Boro

    Thanks!
