Our weekly regular for Members is rolled out again this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the Gameweek ahead. Strong home games for City and Everton look tempting, while Liverpool and Arsenal pay visit to a couple of the promoted clubs over the weekend:
All set for this week:
Szczesny
Johnson - Collocini - Collins - Coleman
Ramsey - Coutinho - Hazard
Remy (vc) - Aguero (c) - Rooney
---------------------------------------------------------
Boruc - Lallana - Brady - ChesterOpen ControlsYep, bench looks correct, Aguero captained. You're good to go. Good luck.

Anybody think Evra is worth the extra 0.6 over GJ? Stats and fixtures are fairly even. Evra's end product maybe a bit better?
Losing Vidic can just afford evra but wouldn't have that 0.6 buffer then. On the plus side it would spread the risk a bit as I have migs.Open ControlsA bit better? GJ has no goal or assist all season
Open ControlsThis season isn't very old and he's been injured. Quick glance will show you he certainly does have end product http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/23650/glen-johnson?cc=3436
Open Controls
I think so. Went for Evra over GJ last week. Looking forward I'd say cleanies look similar for both but Evra is way more likely to get attacking returns
Open ControlsCheers mate might go that route then. I have a 3rd option of downgrading to make room for rooney up top but I feel the cheaper guys can maybe match him. What do you reckon?
Open ControlsEvra + Benteke is better than cheapie + Rooney imo. Easy switch to Lukaku gw16 if he's still blanking. I have Rooney and won't be selling but don't think Benteke will be far off him between now and Xmas
Open ControlsYou're probably right. Cheers. Definitely swaying towards Evra now
Open Controls
Glen Johnson is well overrated on here. I really don't know why that is. I blame Mark. 🙂
Open ControlsYou just did 😛
Open Controls
Haha you may be right. I rate him but I'm well biased. What do you think of Evra granny? Good investment? Vidic has done my head in
Open ControlsI agree to a degree Granville but injuries have been a major hinderance, probably moreso than anything else. The new CB bonus point bias certainly makes him less attractive than in previous seasons but he still offers genuine attacking threat, at a reasonable price in a very solid defence. I think himself and José Enrique, also when fit, would be two of the few FBs you could strongly consider this year, even given the CB bias.
I thought your point about Mark being overly enamoured with him on the scoutcast was right though, and it wouldn't be a transfer I'd prioritise unless the rest of my team was well in order.Open ControlsHead to head little dancer, GJ or Evra?
Open Controls
CS in 5 of the 7 games GJ has played, pretty decent...
Open ControlsTrue but 3 of them were those first 3 games. Defence has nosedived since
Open ControlsGJ. Evra has been phenomenally consistent over the last number of seasons, but his purple patch of goalscoring is largely just a statistical anomaly. That might be doing him a disservice, but I certainly don't think it's likely to continue to any significant extent. I think GJ is the better choice given price, and would probably be in my WC team if I were playing it.
Open Controls
Any ideas for this bunch ? 2FT's and 0.4 in the bank.
Boruc - Given
Terry - Coleman - A.Williams - Rosenoir - Turner
Gerrard - Oscar - Rambo - RavMo - Januzaj
Benteke - Aguero - Suarez
Cheers 🙂Open ControlsCahill played 90 mins in all four of the games that Chelsea kept a cs in and only three of the eight games where they conceded.
It's either him, Ward/Gabbidon or Baker 😛Open ControlsJust saw that I save the transfer next week have the exact money to do Lukaka and Ozil out Rooney and Wally in.
Hmmm... Thoughts on this proposed transfers???Open ControlsGerrard if u plan on keeping til Jan. Guaranteed to tick over at 6 or so ppg with those fixtures
Open ControlsCould go either way tbh, Stevie G has pens and corners and good for the odd Baps, Coutinho more advanced. Both didn't do too much when Suarez was out but now starting to look better, I have Gerrard myself atm
Open ControlsI had both last week, push came to shove and I ditched Coutinho.
Open Controls
Hi all
Which midfielder would you go for instead Özil/Ramsey once Arsenal's fixtures toughen up?
Team:
Boruc, McGregor
Johnson, Chico, Clyne, Vlaar, B Turner
Özil, Hazard, Coutinho, Ramsey, Morrison
Aguero, Suarez, Lukaku
Thanks!Open ControlsNot sure but perhaps Michu will be back to his old self by then. Walcott might be the best bet down from Ozil.
What are you doing with that defence?... is similar to mine. 🙁Open Controls
Ming
Kosc (car) Evra (tot) Coleman (STK)
Sess (new) Ramsey (car) Ozil (car) Morrison (FUL)
Aguero (C) (SWA) Kaku (STK) Suarez (hull)
Harper, De Guzman, Ward, Shaw
1FT
1.2m in the bank
Shaw and De Guzman are the players I was looking at using the transfer on but can't see anyone worth bring in with the money I have maybe do Shaw>Turner as Shaw only really has two matches he can be used in the next 9/10 GWs.
Shaw>GJ is also an option but have Ming and don't massively fancy doubling up also could go Azpi do you think he is going to keep on getting the minutes?
Is there anyone I have missed who is worth bringing in for Shaw or De Guzman with the 1.2m in the bank? Budget for Shaw replacement would be £5.8m and for De Guzman replacement would be £6.9m.Open ControlsSo Aguero fit and rested? Booootiful. So my question for you fine fellows is....
Rat -----> Mert OR Glen Johnson on a FT.
(N.B) Already have Mignolet and Suarez, 3 Liv seems like overkill especially when Coutinho isn't in the mix so I'm leaning towards Mertesacker atm.
Cheers lads!Open ControlsRMT for this week
Jaaskelainen (FUL)
Demel (FUL) GJ (hul) Baker (SUN)
RavMo (FUL) Wally (car) Ramsey (car) Hazard (SOU)
Sturridge (hul) Suarez (hul) Aguero (c) (SWA)Open ControlsLallana, 3 goals, 3 assists. Mins played 927.
Navas, 2 goals, 3 assists. Mins played 522.Open ControlsNot based on tonight though. He looksa different player suddenly, quicker, fitter, and his delivery can be quality. The add bonus is if you find practically any City player all are capable of scoring. If he gets the gametime I'm gonna get him.
Open Controls
Not playing at Man City though. He is finding his feet and the way City are playing at home could become an assist merchant.
Open Controls
Hehe 🙂
Amazing to see people have actually bought Navas in off the back of last weekOpen ControlsNot as stupid as it appears.
Open Controls
This is a terrible bandwagon. Worst than Ben Arfa, Paulinho, Townsend and Sessegnon.
Open ControlsNot playing a lot of minutes may well be the main drawback, by the way.
Open ControlsI can see him being far more involved from now on.
Open ControlsPossibly, I had a look at him, at he certainly has the potential to create a lot of assists in a high scoring City side. He is a real outside right though, his scoring potential is diminished compared to many other wingers and his game time just isn't assured enough given his price. I mean really, what sets him apart from Januzaj at this moment in time?
Good luck if you take the gamble though, I admire a maverick selection.Open ControlsHe already is. And It's been deliberate and I expect he will not start in a fair few games:
But I bet my socks you will see him in every game, however he is utilized.
Transitional team is gelling now at a fast pace and I think this away mentality is a blip. Navas/ Nergredo are the managers hot potatoes. Of course Aguero is the main man there along with Silva but ignore these players at your peril.Open ControlsVery well put.
Open Controls
I never do this but could you 'rate my team'. Or just tell me how good you think it is for the weekend.
Migs
Evra, Coleman, Clyne
Hazard, RavMo, Gerrard, Sessegnon
Suarez, Rooney, Aguero (c)
Januzaj, Burner, ChesterOpen ControlsExcellent bar Clyne and Sess. So I guess I'd give it 9/11.
Open ControlsThanks. I think Sess could have a chance of doing something vs Newcastle. Clyne is pretty much a gauranteed 2 pointer but not much I can do about him.
Open ControlsHe could do but I'm much happier with Cabaye sitting in my team 😉
Clyne to Ward wouldn't be the worst hit in the world long term (great rotation with Burner)Open Controls
I don't recall any RMTs without an Arsenal player : )
Open ControlsQuite a few strong players in there. Your defence may be a bit leaky, but you should more than make up for it with that strike trio. 8/10
Open Controls
A or B ?
A. Boruc & Januzaj > Migs & 4.7
B. A.Williams & Januzaj > Mert & 4.7
Have 2 FT's, thoughts ? 🙂Open ControlsCould you use your two free transfers in a much more boring fashion? I doubt it 😉
I would say A. but i'm pretty stumped for a 4.7 midfielder. Bacuna if you must with his fixtures.Open ControlsHaha, I used 2 transfers to do Reid + Williams -> Demel + Baker, so there is probably slightly more boring ways to use 2 transfers.
Open Controls
These moves were described as 'completely mad' on the last page. Are they that bad?
This gwk: Sessegnon -> RavMo
Next gwk: Walker & Remy -> Evans & Rooney, 4 point hitOpen ControlsI don't think they are particularly mad. Something may crop up next week that changes your mind on those transfers. But bringing RavMo in is a good thing I think. West Ham are going to be desperate to score goals in the coming matches, good fixtures and RavMo should be a part of it.
Open ControlsI like it Viper. You going the SAR route huh?
Open ControlsWas already on the SAR route 😉
Open Controls
Didn't catch the 2nd half, but I read somewhere that he's injured and somewhere else he's not. So is he injured or not?
Also when is the price rise? In 20 mins?Open Controlswho to replace Baines ?
A) GJ
B) JT
I don't have MignoletOpen ControlsWhat did everybody think of United tonight? They're clearly a better team with Kagawa in the hole. Think Moyes might start playing him there more often?
Open ControlsHe will as long as RVP is out, then it gets tricky
Open ControlsDon't really think United were that great just Leverkusen were absolutely shocking.
Open ControlsUnited haven't managed to punish anyone like that all season. I hope Moyes atleast toys with Kagawa in the hole, and fits Van Persie in aswell somewhere.
Open Controls
United played well but Leverkusen were shocking, almost Spurs-esque. Kagawa and Giggs in midfield certainly helped things to flow nicely and Jones had lots of useful energy
Open Controls
Fact- Wayne Rooney has been involved in 13 of 20 united goals in pl and 9 of 11 goals in cl thats a total of 22 in 31 goals of united total tally (goals+assists) 😀
Open ControlsHave front line of
Suarez Giroud Rooney
Is it worth doing Rooney to Aguero for this week, then move back again afterwards?
Or would a Sess -> Walcott move be more worthwhile?Open ControlsI would do neither. Walcott isn't going to start at the weekend
Open ControlsWhy would you ditch Aguero afterwards?
Open Controls
What you guys think of Ward-Prowse ? Thinking of getting him in for Januzaj to free up some funds. He will be benched most weeks and gives me enough to do Boruc > Migs too.
Open ControlsHe seems to have earned his place in the team, his delivery is very good, and he seems to do well in the bonus system. Unfortunately, as well as Saints have played this season, they haven't been prolific going forward. I would still maintain some doubts about his gametime in the longterm, especially with Christmas coming up, I think he would be more susceptible to rotation than others. Terrific little player, there are lots of positives, but definite reservations. Will prob be more consistent/less explosive than Januzaj.
Open Controls
About to do Rooney ---> Aguero and Toure ----> Flanagan for a 4pt hit.
Give me a push pleaseeeee.Open ControlsStill unsure whether Flanagan is nailed on - would never take a hit for a player who isn't certain to play
Open ControlsBut Toure isn't nailed on either, and I need to downgrade Toure to get Aguero in.
Open ControlsSeems good to me Proggy from what I've been reading about Flanagan.
Open ControlsLike you said Toure is a major doubt now, 4.5 for a Liverpool def who is slightly less risky makes sense if you want to back them. Cissokho hasn't been great , in fact he was useless against Newcastle and Rodgers has been saying Flanagan has been impressing well in training and by all accounts was one of pools best players on Saturday,
Open Controls
What about Gabbidon? Palace could have a clean sheet or two in them in the next 3-4 gameweeks
Open Controls
But if Rooney gets a yellow card, he'll get a one match ban..
Open Controls
*Pushes him away from the keyboard*
Open Controls
United aren't exactly scoring for fun in the league just now, and Spurs are (normally) very tight. Could be Rooney's quiet game
Open ControlsThey've scored 9 in the last 4 games and Rooney has been involved with most of them.
Open ControlsSeem to be disagreeing with you a lot this evening - i normally am in total agreement with your opinions...
Open ControlsCity have scored 14 in that time and Aguero has been involved in most of them as well , also out scored Rooney in those games so you can look on it either way. Aguero in a better team atm does it for me
Open Controls
Boruc
Dawson Zaba Coleman
Ozil Ramsey Ravel Hazard
Giroud Suarez Aguero
Rat Brady Ward
0.6 in the bank and 1 FT
which one should i do?
A. Save FT
B. Ozil -> Gerrard/Cou and play Rat over Dawson
C. Ozil & Dawson -> Gerrard/Cou & Terry (-4)
need adviceOpen ControlsMignolet, Lewis
Baker, Coleman, Fonte, Chico, Chester
Ramsey, Januzaj, Oscar, Morrison, Yaya Toure
Rooney, Aguero, Sturridge
I'd like to try and replace Chester this weekend, if I take just him out can afford anyone 4.2 or less if anyone has any suggestions ?
Or I could take a 4pt hit.
Thanks for any adviceOpen ControlsWhat's the scoop on this English match fixing scandal?
Open Controls- Open Controls
Just pulled the trigger on Rosenoir > Gabbidon.
Il bank my other transfer for next week 🙂Open ControlsThat's a headline maker! 😉
Open Controls
Transfer options this week are...
Dawson > Mert/Kos/ or Terry if I stay with 3rd mid price striker.
Alternatively I have 3 Sot defenders... Boruc, K.Davis, Clyne. Do i ship one of these guys instead?
Or Save transfer and pray?Open ControlsI would ship one of the Southampton. Could you do Boruc > Migs ?
Open ControlsI could but then I'd be unable to go for a Poll midfielder as I own GJ and Suarez.
Open Controls
I've just done Baines > Mert if that's any help.
Can you afford just to bench Clyne this week. Probs makes sense to move one or the other on soonishOpen ControlsSo you prefer the second option of losing a Sot defender?
Davis as non-playing second keeper is killing me. Problem is cheap alternatives have shite fixtures this week so won't be likely to get a CS anyway. I'm looking at Myhill, Marshall.Open ControlsWouldn't bother with Myhill as Foster's back soon.
More flexibility with getting a defender in I suppose.
Probs could just ride the storm out with Boruc?Open Controls
Play Boruc and bench Clyne.
Open ControlsI'll have this then...
Boruc
Dawson(MU) G.Johnson(hul) Burner(ARS) (Clyne/Williams)
🙁Open ControlsHmmm, what about a Villa or West Ham defender?
Open ControlsNo faith in either to be honest but who for?
Williams has disappointed but his next 3 after this GW are good fixtures.
Clyne is a great attacking option in a stingy defence who has Villa next GW.
Dawson has tricky fixtures over the next 4, away against shitty teams.
Happy with the other two.Open Controls
Once past this GMWK Dawson's fixtures don't look that bad, but if you want to ship him then get JT. Your front 8 are similar to mine and once I have shipped Ozil for Walcott next week, then I'll be switching Boruc to De Gea soon afterwards.
Open ControlsThis bit concerns me.... "Once past this week", hahaha...
If I go for JT then I can not afford Rooney. Will be stuck with a Lukaku or Benteke etc...
I have same plan for Boruc and Ozil actually. 🙂Open ControlsSame decision I had to make, but finally decided that having Rooney would unbalance my team so I've gone without and had to make do with Lukaku bagging in 2 past pool, and looked on in disappointment when the ref didn't send Ronney off!
Open Controls
RMT /10
Vorm - Boruc
Skrtel Terry Baker - Clyne Chester
Hazard Ramsey Coutinho Sessgnon - RavMor
