Our weekly regular for Members is rolled out again this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the Gameweek ahead. Strong home games for City and Everton look tempting, while Liverpool and Arsenal pay visit to a couple of the promoted clubs over the weekend:
I did warn people buying Aguero to complete their Suarez Rooney Aguero collection that this would happen:
WOW Remy looks good! He's brilliant value and needs to go into my team.
But I can't sell Suarez, Aguero, or Rooney.
WOW Lukaku looks good! He's brilliant value and needs to go into my team.
But I can't sell Suarez, Aguero, or Rooney.
Soon...
WOW Benteke looks good! He's brilliant value and needs to go into my team.
But I can't sell Suarez, Aguero, or Rooney.Open Controlsnot exactly the most troubling problem
i mean, just look at it
Suarez, Rooney, Aguero
*drools*Open ControlsYeah. I'm sorry I ever doubted you SAR.... will you have me back.... I only have eyes for you....

what it truly comes down to is the way you spend the funds gained by downgrading rooney to whichever striker you chose. there is really no gw where you would captain roon over either kun or suarez. however, rooney will surely, at this rate, finish with more points than any of these forwards you mention. and so you must spend that three million, if you choose to downgrade, to make up more points than the difference of rooney to that forward. easier said than done.
Open ControlsYeah that's the thing, until a heavy hitting midfielder comes along who outscores a midpriced mid more than Rooney outscores a midpriced striker, it's not worth it. You won't get the money back in defence. Rooney's points are much more reliable than most midfielder's points. It's a safe and not ridiculously expensive option.
All in all it's made it much easier to manage my team having Suarez Rooney Aguero up front. It saves transfers to fix defence and midfield and avoids hopping between misfiring strikers, getting burnt on the way.
It does mean I've committed to it until one of Suarez Rooney Aguero gets injured though.Open Controls
SAR look better than all of them.

so i'm torn between benteke and rooney
right now I have benteke and 2.4 in the bank. I wanted to do benteke >> rooney but I want you guys' opinion.
benteke:
Pros:
Sunderland home
Weimann and Gabby are back so he will get support
I am only person with benteke in my ML so big differential
Cons:
Terrible form
Aston villa dont look like scoring much
Rooney:
Pros:
Great form
Anything united do comes through him
United were rampant with Rooney up top and Kagawa in the hole today
Cons:
Spurs away. City did put 6 past them but they will bounce back
On 4 yellows.
should I wait one more week or should I make the move now? aguero and suarez are my other strikers.
team right now
ming, gazza
dawson, clyne, terry, rosenior, Bturner
sess, hazard, ramsey, lallana, januzaj
suarez, aguero, benteke
2.4 better spent elsewhere?Open Controlsform over fixtures. get rooney now, keep an eye on benteke for future.
Open Controlssorry for long post, I wanted to be detailed
Open ControlsBring back the grav!
Open ControlsI have no idea what happened to it...
Open Controls
Definately Benteke. He's going to explode now why man and gabs are back
Open ControlsHe's been suppose to explode for 5 weeks now 🙁
Open Controls
I'm going to sound like the biggest traitor; but Rooney is the better pick. United are the superior team.
Rooney is scoring and assisting. Whereas Benteke is doing nothing.
Benteke hasn't been his normal self since returning. Hopefully that changes when I watch Villa smash Sunderland on Sat though 😀Open ControlsWe don't want you watching it, we want you inflicting it!!
Now get back on the training ground 😉Open Controls
Morning, RMT please:
Mig
Coleman, Dawson, Chester
Ozil, Hazard, Lallana, Ravel
Aguero, Suarez, Rooney
(Lewis, Januzaj, Shaw, Chico)
Save FT or transfer out Dawson/Shaw for free?Open Controlsuse it on defense. i would do shaw as you can start dawson after this gw with 2 decent away fixtures - hoping he keeps his spot that is. if you keep it as is you will be looking at 1 or 0 from dawson and 1 or 0 from shaw off the bench for chester who probably wont play.

Okay current strikeforce of aguero, suarez and sturridge. I see a lot of Rooney love on these pages but he has the exact same amount of points as sturridge and one more point than giroud and costs roughly 2mil more.
Sturridge has 3 more league goals but Rooneys assists keep ticking him over. In short I don't see the point in getting Rooney unless he starts pulling away from the others.Open Controlsunited attack has been much better over the last handful of gws compared to how they started off the season. he has found himself again under moyes and is playing as well as he ever has. sturr got his little one goal 2 or 3 bap games with pool winning squeakers while suarez was out for being a cannibal. since suarez has been back there is no question that he impacts sturr negatively in the fpl game. giroud is fine, and a good shout at ars attack, but passes a lot for a striker and hasnt found net a whole lot. rooney has just been providing consistent returns both from his set piece deliveries and in open play - with or without RVP in the lineup. he is worth it.
Open Controlsyeah i agree with what you are saying, i just find it difficult to fit aguero, suarez and rooney in the same team, maybe keep a close eye on ozil in the next few games and downgrade him
Open Controlsi recently downgraded ozil to fund rooney and couldn't be happier. while ozil is world class he was basically the same price as rooney and delivering half the returns. there are other ways into arsenal attack while we cannot say the same for united, unfortunately, given their dire midfield. all food for thought in the end.

Can anyone see flaws in my team this GW?
Mig (Davis)
Mert, Terry, Johnson (Turner, Chester)
Barkley, Oscar, Ramsey, Lallana. (Brady)
Aguero (vc), Lukaku, Suarez (c)
Next GW
A) Barkley + Ramsey > Walcott + Morrison
B) Barkley + Lallana > Walcott + Bacuna
C) Brady + Lallana > Walcott + MorrisonOpen ControlsThoughts on my team at present gents?
Mignolet
Coleman Terry Ward
Janujaz Ozil Oscar Brady
Suarez (VC) Aguero Rooney (C)
Boruc Morrison Clyne Chester - TV (105.6) & 0.00 in bank + 2FTS
- Thinking of Ozil to Navas and Janujaz to Ramsey. Thoughts?
Will leave 0.1m in the bankOpen ControlsJust a quick one. Looking from GW 15 until Jan WC
a) Mignolet Ivanovic (Walker, ~6.2m def) Lukaku
or
b) Myhill Burner Reoney
If I go A I will double up Everton on their good run but if I don't have any MU in my teamOpen ControlsBenteke to captain over Suarez and Rooney? I have a feeling this is BENTEKE week! score 2 goals or something. Weinman and Gabby are back and the 2 nail claw back against their city rivals west brom shows they're motivated now and aren't toothless. What do you guys think?
Open ControlsFun Thought
Just imagine if the real managers were playing FPL. They could totally feck with us. For example Pellegrini could decide he needs a differential in Dzeko and nail him on with starts. Then when the bandwagon is rolling he could switch back to Negredo and give everybody a shock. LOL. Endless possibilities.
#boredatofficeonaveryhotafteernoonOpen ControlsThinking of selling Özil, what would be a good replacement for £9.6 or less?
My current midfield:
Oscar Whittingham Amalfitano Özil RamseyOpen ControlsEvery other midfielder in the game is 9.6 or less.
So it's not really a well framed question.
Do you want to spend that much, or are you going to spread the cash elsewhere?Open Controlslol yeah you're right, I suppose I should have put some more thought into that number.
That is the exact amount I will be left with once I add GJ to my def and sell Özil.
The thing is I was thinking of getting in Hazard but due to possible rotation risks over the busy period and their game against Southampton this GW I am not so sure.Open Controls
double chelsea with hazard?
i would just stick to be frank - unless you are trying to free up funds for a second move?Open ControlsI am selling to free up the funds to upgrade my def. Thinking maybe Hazard could be the best option.
Open Controls
Is it time to sell a kidney for Suarez Rooney and Aguero ?..i think it might be.
Open ControlsI dunno. I don't have the answer and will wait one more week. I'm hoping something/someone makes up my mind for me in the next couple of days....
Open ControlsThose United fixtures coming up are just tasty....but coincide with tasty Lukaku fixtures as well.
Open Controlsthe difference is lukaku relies entirely on service from those surrounding him while rooney can provide and receive. luk blanks @cpl and that is a huge problem for me. with the lack of returns from mid, a two pointer from your forward this season is an issue. rooney all the way.
Open ControlsI'm considering Mirallas+Rooney to cover Eve.
Open ControlsYeah..Mirallas get's some bad press but look at his AVG posotion comapred to Lukaku at the weekend, exactly the same. Lukaku plays best when Mirallas is put right up there with him (unlike against palace) and he becomes a great pick in his own right.
Open Controls
thinking about doing:
Studge + Ozil -> Rooney + Wally to get that front 3.....despite LIV's fixtures...Open Controls
Has to be Walcott?
I like Navas as differential tooOpen ControlsDoes anyone know why Southampton changed their backup keeper last week from Kelvin Davis to Gazzaniga?
Open Controls"Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino was without both Dejan Lovren and Kelvin Davis as the duo joined Jack Cork and Guly do Prado on the sidelines"
Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/arsenal-2-0-saints-report-1191617.aspx#xCfQS0pcLeQSsLxa.99Open ControlsI was about to suggest that Gazzaniga was Argentinean and so was Pochettino...

Unfortunately i somehow ended up with bot Amalfitano and Sessegnon in my squad.
Which one should i ditch? After seeing the game with Villa i'm thinking Sessegnon, he was awfull.Open ControlsWhile I am raging at Sess for depriving me of two Amalfitano assists, I still see him as the better option for his goal threat playing as second striker. Keep him if you can.
Open Controls
How many of you are removing Coleman form your squad next week? And who are you getting instead?
Open ControlsA) suarez+cabaye/sessagon
B)hazard+lukaku
chosse one ???Open ControlsWouldnt a Silva/Hazard and Lukaku be a better combo than Rooney and say Sess?.Isnt this a valid point to counter the SAR trio only motto? Doing SAR definitely leaves the midfield weak. And i am sure the third mid would be somebody in the Sess price range.
Open Controlsa good point surely. again, it comes down to if you think you can use the difference in funds gained by downgrading rooney to lukaku to overcome the point differential rooney would get you over lukaku over the course of the season.
seems to me the same argument of oscar v haz. everyone has opinions, but in the end, flip a coin. both great options!Open ControlsYes ,but shouldnt we see the point difference as a that of between the striker plus mid combo?
Open Controls
Given how reliable Hazard has been/Silva is injured/Walcott is recovering, not yet. Also big mids in general this year have been remarkably points shy. Somehow the strikers are hoovering up the goals. It could change though and I am preparing myself for putting more money in midfield.
I think two big mids is pretty decent given midfield points so far.Open Controls
Did Baines ->Per last night making it
Boruc
Terry Per Lovren Williams Faye
Bit ugly this week. Either playing Williams or double up on Soton.Open ControlsI would double up on Southampton - can't see them getting thrashed in any circumstance, unlike with Swansea where that possibility exists.
Open ControlsSwansea are well organised and don't allow many chances in their box. I don't think it'll be another rout.
Open ControlsI see Southampton CS chances as higher than a Swansea CS chance.
To be honest it is very likely both will concede, so it's almost irrelevant, but at least by playing double Southampton any unexpected reward will be bigger.Open Controls
saints will still concede at least 2 i reckon. chelsea are good at home.
Open Controls
I think most are playing at least one in defence that has a terrible fixture. Did Mark have a big change up?
Open ControlsYes he made 3 transfers. He's trying to be secretive about them but I'll quiz him in the scoutcast when we record later. Suarez and Walcott are in I'm sure of it.
Open Controls
Similar choice here. Got to play one from these...
Williams (mcy)
Burner (ARS)
Chester (LIV)
As a non-Aguero owner I'm tempted to go all-in with Williams. 😮Open Controls
T'was good to see Kagawa in the hole last night.
Gave a nice glimpse of the player he was when a regular there for Dortmund that led him to be player of the season in Germany.
He moves the ball on quickly and so intelligently, keeping a good tempo and momentum to United's attacks and counter attacks. Without him in there we are prone to a slow monotonous build up which I feel has helped sides stifle us a tad this season.
Dare I say it, Giggs was also important in that respect as he gets the ball to the forwards so much quicker and incisively than Cleverly and Fellaini.
Will be interesting this weekend to see what happens if RVP is back and fit........will he be slotted straight back in......I'm not so sure!Open ControlsIt's his best position. The problem is, once RVP and Rooney are fit they will play and RVP will take the spot up front and Rooney will be played where Kagawa is most effective. Kagawa suffers and is slotted out on the left, if he does start, and people then go on about how poor he is etc.
Open ControlsI agree totally, RVO and Rooney will always likely be first choice with Kagawa slotted out left, however, I'm hoping last night's performance has moved the "Kagawa in the hole" option to become Moyes's Plan B when either RVP or Rooney are unavailable against good sides.
Open Controls
I think he gets a slightly unfair treatment. He's a decent little footballer, and I think would thrive in a 3 man midfield where small triangles (ala Barca) of passing would be a regular occurrence.
Unfortunately with United's style of play, there is a necessity to get the ball forward a touch quicker, and he rarely seems to do this.Open ControlsCleverley has gone backwards this season, he's far better than that. He can't play in a 2 man midfield especially with a static Fellaini. He's a water carrier, someone who mops up play and passes neatly.
Open ControlsTotally agree - I don't mind him, he's just simply not at the level we are used to seeing at United, and the 2 man midfield is not his forte.
He would be perfect for a Swansea style of play for example, or under Martinez at Everton.Open Controls
Set pieces or open play? That's the question!
