While Luis Suarez failed to match the performance and points tally of his devastating midweek showing, the Uruguayan did more than enough to justify the Fantasy armband as his dragged Liverpool to another four goals and three points at Anfield. Elsewhere, Norwich City’s rollercoaster season continued, with a Dutch raider coming to the fore to emerge as the latest midfield differential to consider.

The Game Changer

He’s making it look easy. Just as Robin van Persie threatened to kill off the art of the Fantasy Football captaincy in previous seasons, Luis Suarez is doing all he can to remove the skill and insight required to make that crucial decision each week.

Quite frankly, it’s a brave Fantasy manager that overlooks Suarez. Even on an off-day, his threat to the opposition is so substantial, Suarez almost accumulates points almost through force of will. Today, against West Ham, the Liverpool striker produced a far from vintage display – missing opportunities and being phased out of the match by some disciplined early defending from the visitors.

However, a fortuitous own goal, from which Suarez earned one of two assists, handed Liverpool their opener and that paved the way for another comfortable Anfield victory and another double figure Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points haul for Suarez.

While Aguero, the nearest rival to Suarez’s claim for the armband, notched once again, Suarez is set to outscore him with a sixth double figure points tally in ten league starts. Fourteen league goals and seven assists, over those matches underlines the fact that Suarez is as near to an essential Fantasy asset as any player is likely to become this season.

The Underused

Leroy Fer’s third league goal in five starts must surely bring him to the attention of the Fantasy masses. While we’ve long been acquainted with the erratic returns of team-mate Robert Snodgrass and the budget potential of the tricky Nathan Redmond, it’s Fer who appears to carry the greatest potential for points amongst Chris Hughton’s inconsistent charges.

Owned by less than 1% of FPL managers, the Dutchman’s raids from midfield have been a recent feature of the Canaries play – a benefit of a formation change from Hughton that has fielded Bradley Johnson and Jonny Howson in central midfield, allowing Fer the freedom to support the lone striker. That’s brought three goals for and, even with a price tag of 5.8 in the FPL, it’s surely time to consider Fer as a credible short-term option as Norwich embark on a run of three home fixtures in four: Swansea, Fulham and a beleaguered United due at Carrow Road before the turn of the year.

André Schürrle was the day’s other big points scorer, although his brace at Stoke was not enough to prevent Jose Mourinho’s side slipping to a damaging 3-2 setback. At just 7.1 in the FPL, we’ve long looked upon the German as a potential differential who could offer value as the season progresses. While today’s haul was his biggest of the season, it was also his first league start in six as Mourinho’s midfield continues to tease and toy with Fantasy managers attempting to identify alternatives to the established targets – Oscar and Eden Hazard. In truth, it seems unlikely that we will ever get assurance of a third candidate, even Frank Lampard was rested back to the bench today to frustrate his recent investors.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

A front 3 of Suarez Aguero Rooney has really tied up the money to prevent any decent punts anywhere else in the team. Which of these would you let go for Lukaku over the next few weeks?

      None. Just lighten your defence.

      I've managed a front 8 of:
      Michu / Hazard / Gerrard / Ramsey / Redmond
      Rooney / Suárez / Agüero

I wrote this on FB. Nobody's unfriended me yet ha:

The Church was horrible today. We're all frustrated but I thought Utd fans were special- we're not.

About 70% of people in there want Moyes out.

We're fookin lucky to have been born in the mid 80's and had our local team managed by Alex Ferguson. I hope every honest non-Utd football fan is enjoying these joker fans reaction. It's like the rich kid at school going bankrupt and he can't handle it.

It is football FIRST. It's pick your nearest team to support second and then EFFING SUPPORT THEM!!!!!!

who is the residential price rise guru here these days?

coleman a part of my transfer plans but naturally i dont want to bring in until they have gotten the current week's game out of the way. my plan leaves no change so i can't afford a rise. he's on 80% at the moment. about 5 hours or so until price change. how close too 100% is too risky you think without going ahead and making the move?

If TFPL doesn't get to 100% then he's unlikely to go up. It's been very accurate this season, especially for price rises. Don't know how much of his 40% was pre-lockdown, but I'll stick my neck out and say that I don't think he'll go up tonight.

A news/info on the Moxey Injury?

Sadly, I do miss out on the clean sheet, but no matter the results or extent of his injury he is on the squad for a handful of weeks now.

Rodgers gave no indication of how serious the problem was, but said "He was outstanding in his performance, the quality of his passing, but when he went to get that pass he felt a little tweak"

    'A little tweak'

    Doesn't sound bad.

    Who wins?

    Me: 49 points + Baker + Chester + Lukaku + Coleman + Sczezsny + Ozil + Ramsey
    Him: 67 points + Ramsey + Koscielny

Bloody Paulinho cancelled out my Cabaye haul.

Not fantasy related, but just asking if the PS4 is worth buying? If anyone has one, is it worth the money and is it much of an advance on the PS3?

I've got one, and I'm not loving Fifa 14 compared to Fifa 13 on the PS3, but they do always take a bit of getting used to.

I haven't got round to playing any other games yet as I generally play Fifa 90% of the time.

But it does feel like a quality system, much quicker and slicker, and the graphics are awesome.

      Treat yourself.

I have not seen anybody thinking about getting RVP. May I ask why? When Rooney's back he will be the one to score.

RVP's price is not worth it, Much cheaper alternatives and Man Utd are not scoring goals
