Following another shock home defeat for United, the Gameweek continues with a quintet of three o’clock kick-offs, before an evening encounter at the Stadium of Light as Spurs take on Gus Poyet’s Black Cats.
Our focus will be on our forward lines this afternoon, as both Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero, sporting the armband for thousands, take on the West Ham and Southampton defences respectively.
It’s fair to say that, after his huge points haul in midweek, our expectations remain high as Suarez looks to puncture a Hammers backline robbed of Winston Reid’s influence. However, Sam Allardcye’s tactics and formation will surely look to stifle the Liverpool attack and it remains to be seen if Suarez will be the obvious captain candidate that our poll suggests.
Aguero could yet be the smarter option – not least because City have the opportunity to expose a Southampton back four without the substantial screen provided by Victor Wanyama and Morgan Schneiderlin. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been ravaged by recent injuries, giving City and Aguero every chance to capitalise at St Mary’s with a second away win in a week.
