A number of midfielders are placed under the spotlight, with Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Liverpool all serving up some strong statistics. The performance of United’s frontmen at Villa and Tottenham’s inability to find the net under the now-departed Andre Boas-Villa also come under analysis as we delve into the data.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    How am I looking?

    Howard
    Zabaleta / Terry / Gabbidon
    Silva / Hazard / Ramsey / Walcott
    Lukaku / Rooney (vc) / Suárez (c)

    Lewis / Oviedo / Chester / Turner

Thinking of a short term punt with Terry to Vermalean next week, what with Kosc out.

Are people serious taking 8 and 12 point hits with only Aguero being their injury (who can be downgraded to every single available striker) and there is a WC in 2-3 weeks?

    Oh dear...

Because of price changes. Come that WC you might not be able to afford the teams they can.

The season doesn't end in Jan, long way to go. If they can afford a better team, chances are they will outscore you by the end of the season.

        Oooooh, come on, ooh yeah

Well I tried to tell you so (yes I did),
But I guess you didn't know,
        As the saddest story goes,
Wenger, now I got the flow,
'Cause I know it from the start,
Wenger, when you broke my heart,
That I had to score again,
And show you that I'm with.

        You lied to me,
All those times I said that I should start for you,
        You lied to me,
Yes, I tried, yes, I tried,
        You lied to me,
Even though you know I'd score for you,
        You lied to me,
Yes, I cried, yes, I cried.

        [Chorus 1:]
        Return of the chamakh,
        It is,
        Return of the chamakh,
        Come on,
        Return of the chamakh,

Ozil to Yaya worth it for -4?

The way I see it, I want both a city mid + walcott, and I can do Shelvey to walcott next week (i.e take the hit today instead of next week)..

so already did Kun -> Negredo for my FT..

thinking I will do Terry -> Chester this week for a hit (can't take another blank from Chelsea and I know Arsenal will score at least 1)

then next week will do Ravel (or Januzaj) -> Ozil (or Walcott)

or do you think I should bundle it all together for a miserable -8? 😯 😆

I might do Evans and Walcott then..can't afford Evans + Ozil, Chester is so cheap and just as good odds for a cleansheet as Chelsea it seems..

also can't buy a 6.5 rated defender JUST for attacking potential..especially a center back no less

I have Terry, Mert and Clyne at the moment..basically asking for 3 blanks..

only considering Chester because I was intrigued by the idea of getting in Ozil, but could just as easily do Evans + Walcott for a -8 (or Evans for a -4 and Walcott for free next week if he doesn't rise before the lock)

    Net Spending:

    Chelsea - 60m
    Liverpool - 17m
    Arsneal - 32m
    Manu - 35m
    City -66m
    Spurs -3m

Think AVB done alright for his spending. Apart from the thrashings he has done well imo.

I made the first half of my transfer for the week, swapping out Aguero for Berbatov. I almost pulled the trigger on Hooper, but was worried about the looming threat of a healthy van Wolfswinkel, which I thought would impact his game time.

With 7.1 in the bank, my next two transfers are Brady and Ramsey to Walcott and Hazard. I plan to space it out over two game weeks to limit my point hits to -4. Should I flip Brady to Walcott and have three Arsenal midfielders this week (also have Ozil) or should I start with Hazard and bring in Walcott next week?

Is the problem with Welback the fact that his goal returns have been poor in the past or the fact that he might not play?

Who is the best striker for the free 7.0m in my frontline?

Berbatov, Welbeck & Hooper the 3 main ones. Welbeck looks nailed on (for now) in the best side with the best fixtures? Hardly that shocking a decision? 🙂

    I did Kun+Sess+Clyne>Negredo+Silva+Evans for -8 this week.

Everyone seems to think that those are bad moves since they involve -8. 🙁

But my reasoning was that Kun and Clyne will score 0 points combined and Sess will score 2 points.

So, that basically means that Negredo,Silva and Evans need to score 10 points or more for that hit to work which I think is very likely.

Am I missing something? Any mistake in the tmy thought process? 🙄

8 point hits is a little excessive. If you study the FPL champs of seasons past, they will avoid taking hits at all costs.

Taking -8pts would be totally anathema to them.

However, if you think 100% that you will recover those points, then by all means go for it.

I don't like taking hits for players that will be playing the next gw but when a player is injured I think it's the best time to take the plunge since there's no chance of them exploding or for that matter scoring any points.

Unless you can't play 11, it's not Kun/Clyne's 0s you should be counting, but their replacements.. Even if they all got 2 (big if), that's 14 they have to make now.

My subs are Ravel,Burner and Faye.

      Faye will get O.

Burner will get 0 or negative points considering the form that Liverpool are in

      Ravel might get a couple.

First year player & I'm no expert but I can't understand the Welbeck dislike. I watched highlights of the game & I thought he was great. He looked very sharp & the 2 goals he scored showed great anticipation & intuition.Although it was only a 10 minute package Welbeck featured prominantly whereas Rooney hardly featured. Obviously the 2 main standouts to replace Aguero are Rooney, Negredo or Lukaku but are they necessarily the best options. Man C. have an away game v Fulham this week & their away form is shocking & then they have Liv. Man U have a home game v West Ham & then travel to Hull. Lukaku is doing nothing atm. I think the decision is between Rooney & Welbeck & I'm leaning towards Welbeck. Am I crazy?

    Rooney or Negredo ?

In a vacuum (as they say in american fantasy sports) Rooney wins easily

    1) Nailed on ,
    2) Proven fantasy performer
    3) Penalties
    4) Set pieces

    Negredo
    1) Not nailed on
    2) New to English winter , patchy so far
    3) Competing with so many others for city points

    Last 6 games they started

    Rooney 12 , 4 , 11 13 , 1 , 5 = 46
    Negredo 5 , 2 , 10 ,6, 2 , 6 = 31

They both missed one game , Rooneys was suspension , but Negredos was rotation. (Expect Dzeko to get a start over xmas)

However , its not a vacuum as Negredo gives an extra coupe of million to spend elsewhere.
For example i have the choice of
Rooney and Mirallas OR Negredo and Walcott
