Aaron Ramsey is out for the rest of the Christmas period. Fulham, Hull and Stoke are rocked by goalkeeper injuries. Phil Jones suffers a knee injury for United. Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar are likely to remain sidelined for Villa. Dimitar Berbatov remains a doubt for the weekend, while Ravel Morrison is a concern for West Ham with a groin complaint:

Arsenal’s title bid has been dealt a blow with the news that Aaron Ramsey is expected to be out for a while with the thigh strain sustained at West Ham. Post-match, Arsene Wenger confirmed the injury will “certainly” keep the Welshman out for the remainder of the Christmas period. Meanwhile Jack Wilshere returns for the trip to Newcastle, following suspension.

Dimitar Berbatov remains a doubt for Fulham’s trip to Hull after missing the last two matches with a groin complaint. Rene Meulensteen will be without Maarten Stekelenburg, though, after he twisted his ankle on the last day of training before the Boxing Day win at Norwich – David Stockdale is set to deputise once more.

Asmir Begovic could be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a broken finger in training. The Bosnian missed Stoke’s defeat to Newcastle, with Mark Hughes revealing “It’s quite a bad break”. Thomas Sorensen is expected to deputise between the sticks, whilst the Potters will also be without Marc Wilson and Glenn Whelan, following their red cards against Newcastle.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed James Collins is “unlikely” to recover from the calf complaint that forced him off early during yesterday’s defeat to Arsenal, though the Hammers boss is a little more optimistic on Ravel Morrison. The youngster missed out against the Gunners with a groin complaint but his manager reckons it “isn’t too bad” ahead of a crucial clash with West Brom.

Manchester United have defensive concerns after Phil Jones missed the win over Hull with a knee injury. The former Blackburn man is expected to be sidelined for “a couple of weeks”, according to David Moyes, while Rafael is a doubt after coming off early against Hull with a groin problem.

Christian Benteke and Ron Viaar look set to miss out again for Villa with knee and calf injuries respectively. Paul Lambert is hopeful the Belgian could be available for New Year’s Day against Sunderland but is less optimistic on his skipper. Villa will welcome back Ashley Westwood though, after the midfielder served his suspension in the home loss to Palace.

Hull have injury concerns ahead of the Fulham game, after David Meyler and Allan McGregor were both withdrawn at half-time on Boxing day with knee injuries. The pair are set for x-rays and scans, with Steve Bruce unsure whether either will be available for Saturday. Alex Bruce is also a doubt after picking up a calf problem during the United game.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

    Marshall - Boruc
GlenJ - Terry - Olsson (NOR) - Chico - Burner
    Hazard - Nasri - Walcott - Barkley - Brunt
    Suarez - Rooney - Lukaku

Really want Silva but £0.2m short of Nasri > Silva.

    Best option?

    A) Nasri > Silva and Terry > Zabaleta (4 pt hit)
    B) Terry > Zabaleta (wait till next GW for Silva)
    C) Any other way of getting City coverage?

As I say, really want Silva but will he score 4 more than Nasri? Palace are tight at the back these days.

Hi all. Any advice on my team would be great:

    Mcgregor - Mannone
    Terry - Debouche - Distin - Vlaar - Faye
    Silva - Walcott - Morrison - Januzaj - Amalfitano
    Suarez - Rooney - Lukaku

I've got 2.6 in the bank. Need to improve the midfield I think.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Would you consider having Paulinho in your team for the visit of Stoke City:

    A) a useful differential
    B) an unnecessary risk
    C) a good punt
    C) a potential 0-pointer

I got him in just in time for his red card at Liverpool.................

Hardly. People who are panicking about TV are selling early so he may have 500k transfers out before he's fallen 0.2k. If there's news that he's back for the 5th then the WC may not be used to transfer him out.

    A) Go for it, City will hammer Palace and you will reap the rewards
    B) Step away from the computer

Already taken one 4 point hit to get this lot....

    Szczesny
    Terry, Evra, Clyne
    Hazard, Walcott, Nasri, Barkley
    Suarez, Rooney, Lukaku

    Davis, Ravel, MOlsson, Ward
    Bank 0.5m

With Clyne still being a doubt (and my bench defenders having bad fixtures) and only having Nasri as City cover for CPL, would you be tempted with this further 8 pointer?

    Clyne & Hazard -> Kolarov & Silva

If it helps anyone, when making the Yaya or Silva decision, I weighed up the pros and cons for each and in the end went with Yaya.

    Yaya:

Pros: - On free kicks and penalties
    - Consistent,
    - Has attacking returns in all but one game at home (Liverpool)
    - High ownership (which means that average goes up every time he does something and you will likely drop a bit)
    - Less likely to get rotated/rested

Cons: - Doesn't score much from open play
    - More expensive

    Silva:

Pros: - Gets points from open play
    - Low ownership (Differential)
    - Cheaper

Cons: - More likely to get rotated/rested
    - Gets injured a lot

Yepp. I stated why. Silva having low ownership means you have a differential. But with Yaya's high ownership chances are you'll drop every time he does something, soooo if you have him this won't happen..

I think what you've done there isis inadvertently demonstrated why people put too much emphasis on ownership! If high and low ownership are both pros and cons then it is a bit redundant unless you're at one extreme or the other (miles behind or miles ahead) and still the priority is just getting the most points you can!

I might well do Hazard→Yaya. Chelsea arent scoring goals and dont have great fixtures.

Aye, think I'm getting rid also (but for Silva).

Hazard is about as flat track as they come.

Hazard is their form man though and i think form over fixtures is the best strategy.

Pens for a few weeks, on FK's, bombs forward, good fixtures. Do it... Although i'm keeping Haz as well.

Who to captain my current feelings are this:

    Rooney
    Walcott
    Suarez

In that order who are you guys going for?

Its gotta be Rooney. I read an interesting tweet that was something along the lines of Suarez has only scored 3 goals vs 1-13 ranked opposition.

Is it worth taking a hit for the like of Llallana or Cabaye. Would be giving up Ravel.

    Mannone
    Jagielka Evans Mertesacker
    Walcot Silva Yaya Hazard
    Rooney Lukaku Suarez

    Kelvin Davis Chester Ovied Ward

Anything you would do for a -4?

    A) Lukaku to 9.7m foward
    B) Leave team as it is

    Any Newcastle fans out there?

HBA looks to be back on a tear again and Newcastle aren't likely to beat Arsenal by playing it safe. Will he keep his place for a few weeks to take advantage of his being well rested and on form once again?

Ramsey > Cabaye (safety) or HBA (flair)?

Right chaps. current team is below and is set out nicely for next few weeks but i need to catch some rivals by end of GW 20 (small wager). What should i change this week and I have 2 free transfers:

    Mannone / Speroni

    Coleman / Hughes / Bardsley / Baker / Evans

    Walcott / Silva / Januzaj / Pieenar / Whittingham

    Suarez / Rooney / Lukaku

Also who should I bench? Thanks!
