Charlie Adam is at the centre of an injury scare which could decimate Blackpool‘s survival hopes and dent the end of season fortunes of many Fantasy Managers.

The PFA Player of the Year nominee suffered a knock to his foot against Wigan on Saturday and, although Adam completed the 90 minutes, his foot has swollen badly and he is set to undergo an x-ray to determine the full extent of the problem. Although not considered to be a serious setback, Adam is currently wearing a cast and scan results will reveal whether he will be forced to sit out the impending clash with Newcastle and the matches that follow.

The last few weeks have seen Adam prove a hugely popular option for Fantasy Managers. Blackpool have had run of fixtures which included four consecutive home encounters and, even after the weekend defeat to Wigan, their schedule remains favourable enough to boost Adam’s potential (NEW STK tot BOL mun). The Blackpool skipper has earned over 150,000 investors in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game since gameweek 30.

Even before the recent surge in popularity, Adam has been a stand-out performer and a staple for many Fantasy Managers. An FPL points total of 160 is clear evidence of an outstanding first season in the Premier League and, with an ownership of 36.7% in the FPL, there will be thousands anxious to hear updates from Bloomfield Road in the next 48-hours.

We will keep you posted via the Tweets and team news as always.

Should I get Adam out for next GW?

I'm thinking of losing him and Meireles and getting in Dempsey and Etherington.

    Any thoughts?

    Front 8 are
Walcott, Nasri, Adam, Lampard, Meireles // Anelka, Rooney, RVP.

I'd keep Meireles, sell Anelka for Zamora or Sturridge instead.

Even with Adam likely to be out through injury? I'm lying in 4th place (first season as a fantasy manager) about 100 points off leader but I reckon I can get 2nd by season end.

It means taking a 4 point hit for this doing what I want to do but maybe I should take out Anelka for Zamora and adam for etherington? Question then is who gets the armband.

        Appreciate advice mate 😀

That's what I meant, don't sell Adam and Meireles, sell Adam (depending on how bad his injury is) and Anelka. Ethers and Zamora look like good picks for the double gameweek.

That's to free up funds for VDV and a possibly Tevez(?) in gw 36. Makes a swap to Roonpig easier.

Plan is to cover my rival that has Roonpig. I've been trying for 33 gameweeks to break his moral and it seems our league might be decided on the last day of the season.

All i need is 2 frre trades in gw 38 and Fergie to rest Nani/Rooney!

Here's an interesting but vague stat for those who like a punt - I read somewhere that something like 75% of Walters' goals had come after the 70th minute. Can anyone verify this?

If it's true, then he's worth a look out for in the 'last goal scorer' markets.

I was checking his history and he scored 2 goals in his 12 minutes on the pitch v West Brom, so presumably that was the last 12 minutes. Plus the 2 in the FA Cup, sounds like your stat could be about right.

Three of his five goals in the pl were before the 70th minute. One of the late goals was a penalty that he took only because Etherington was subbed out for him earlier.

Help please. My team is linked. 54 points behind my rival, maybe less after all the games have been played.
    his team is http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=726011=

He has 3 DGW players, Huth,Hangeland and Dempsey. I just have O'Hara. Was thinking about doing Adam and VDV out, Etherington and Yaya Toure in. It will give me funds to get Tevez in if he's fit for the DGW.

    Thoughts?

I wouldn't try to plan for getting tevez in. Most have got rid by now, so it wouldn't hurt if you didn't have him, and i doubt he'll play in the 1st game of the double, obviously depends on what the specialist says, when tevez returns from italy.

Also wouldn't get vdv out as he has a double aswell. Adam out is the best move as he could be injured for the rest of the season, depending on the impending scans. Just wait and see. As you're chasing a fairly substantial lead, getting O'hara to be different to your rival is the wise choice.

How about getting a stoke midfielder say etherington/walters, to even it up a bit in terms of no. of dgw players that you each have.

Based on the players in the game right now, hard to tell, Tevez/RVP and Rooney will all be 12-12.5, Nani will most definatelty be 11 or 11.5 I would imagine, think we will see biggest jump for RVP as long as he stays fit

Might even rectify last week's mistake by getting N'Zogbia instead of a DGW player. Adam gone would make things interesting, I don't like having him.

Not really sure about that. Adam being injured may force me into buying a player that I ultimately don't really want. If he is out I'll probably just play Walker, and go 4-3-3.

      Begovic
      Walker Dawson Terry Luiz
      Lampard (c) Fabregas VDV

My main concern is ive perhaps gone a bit overboard on double GW players who are only going to serve to tarnish my team for the remainder of the season. Its my 'B team' anyway which i only started in GW 3 so it doesnt really matter but im trying to break it into the top 50k (simply to humiliate my mates whos teams which started at the beginning are lower ranked)

Earlier in this career it was very noticeable, especially if the ball was at the other end of the pitch... you could see his head twitch every now and then and some random hand / arm twitches. I guess when the ball came into his half, his concentration stopped the tourettes. It's fair less noticeable in general now any way.

He scores more with 1 striker upfront or when he plays as a striker, but regardless of where he plays he usually delivers[goals or assist(not much because he is selfish],on pens and he is a bp magnet

    OK, team linked.

Help needed drastically! I'm stuck between about a bazillion choices.

A.)Definitely getting rid of Walcott and Nasti, will not be swayed on that. But for who? Etherington,Walters,Jarvis,O'Hara and Dempsey the 5 candidates for that.

B.) Then, do I take another 4 pt hit (making 8 total) to get one of the above 5 in for Adam aswell?

C)AND FINALLY, is it worth instead of doing B) perhaps swapping out Welbeck (possible injury) for someone like Ebanks-Blake or Carrol etc?

i actually have no idea what to do with my transfer this week

    Foster
    Terry, luiz, Huth
    Young, Silva, Nani, Lamps
    Carroll, Gyan, RVP
    subs, alhabsi, elokobi(injured?), adam, walker
the only 2 i think i could possibly do .

    A) Terry out hangeland in.
    B) Gyan out Zamoroa in
If i did a it would be short term swapping to a man city defender for there double. and if it was b zamora would leave for probably balotelli

Wasn't that much of a big deal last season. Just made it easier for everyone to sell Drogba for Rooney, which was handy, as Rooney's run of form coincided with the COAN (and Man United playing loads of crappy teams in a row, but I'm not allowed to mention that).

I never enjoy the ACON since Man Utd have no African players that sit out over the period (and Arsenal do) 🙂

It's just Song now really. That's why we badly need some cover for him and Wilshere. There's too much of a gap between him and Denilson/Diaby.

yeah him and cashley are the exceptions. throw dirk kuyt in and you've got 3 of the more freakish engines in the league. i suppose you can say xavi, messi and iniesta have been as awesome as always too, although maybe that's a jersey la liga thing, i.e the stereo type that it's less demanding than the premier league

Is Cashley even an exception? He's not been at his best this season. I felt a little sorry for him after Theo ruthlessly tore into him at the Emirates in December.

Actually scrap that last bit, I enjoyed every f*cking second.

Nani will be at United next season, he still has another season in him to prove he is the real deal before he goes for big money, not saying he wouldn't go now for big money, but I think he knows United will only get better with a few signings this summer
