Charlie Adam is at the centre of an injury scare which could decimate Blackpool‘s survival hopes and dent the end of season fortunes of many Fantasy Managers.

The PFA Player of the Year nominee suffered a knock to his foot against Wigan on Saturday and, although Adam completed the 90 minutes, his foot has swollen badly and he is set to undergo an x-ray to determine the full extent of the problem. Although not considered to be a serious setback, Adam is currently wearing a cast and scan results will reveal whether he will be forced to sit out the impending clash with Newcastle and the matches that follow.

The last few weeks have seen Adam prove a hugely popular option for Fantasy Managers. Blackpool have had run of fixtures which included four consecutive home encounters and, even after the weekend defeat to Wigan, their schedule remains favourable enough to boost Adam’s potential (NEW STK tot BOL mun). The Blackpool skipper has earned over 150,000 investors in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game since gameweek 30.

Even before the recent surge in popularity, Adam has been a stand-out performer and a staple for many Fantasy Managers. An FPL points total of 160 is clear evidence of an outstanding first season in the Premier League and, with an ownership of 36.7% in the FPL, there will be thousands anxious to hear updates from Bloomfield Road in the next 48-hours.

We will keep you posted via the Tweets and team news as always.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Is Adam to Etherington and Hernandez to Zamora worth a 4 pt. hit?
or should I just do the first one?

He's should be fine for their next match, Kakuta played vs united because Duff was injured.

Not really sure where to fit doublers into this team:

    Begovic (Mignolet)
    Luiz, Huth, Foley (Djouro, Baines)
    O'hara, Young, Lamps, Adam (Nasri)
    Drogz, VP, Wellbeck

72 points behind league leader, Im thinking:

Wellbeck & Nasri to Sturridge and YaYa/Johnson

    Thoughts appreciated?

Nasri to Dempsey, Adam to Etherington and captain one of them. You need a double gameweek captain to hit big. Play:

      Begovic
      Luiz Huth Foley
      O'hara Young Lamps Dempsey(c) Ethers
      Drogba VP

6 doublers, lots of Chelsea vs West Ham, VP is always good for points.

Lots of people seem to be buying Yaya - Is it a mistake to ship him out for Walters, or is it just a case of Yaya bandwagonning?

+1 Walters is as bandwagony as it gets, Yaya there's at least a medium term chance of returns. Not that I really rate Yaya either.

In real terms (212 000 pounds a week) he is not value for money, although good.

In fantasy terms at 5.8 I think he is worth it (cos he has a double). Only Nzogbia is better value (assuming Adam is injured.

Look like a well enough wild card, or am I missing someone obvious?

    Begovic (Hart)

Huth Hangeland Luiz (Kolarov, R. Johnson)

Etherington Dempsey A. Young Nani (YaYa)

    Rooney Zamora Sturridge

Tempted to ditch Nani for O'Hara as it would free cash for any striker for week 35(Bent/Drogs/VanP) and VDV for 36. Does anyone know if Tottenham have a striker on the payroll?

Any and all comments appreciated, even the aimless rude ones.

          Away to Blackpool - concede
          Home to Arsenal - concede
          Away to City - concede
Home to Wigan - possible clean sheet

I would not say that is a great set of fixtures for Huth.

I see Dawson isnt much better - sorry for the bad advice.

I do think there are better options than him though, and personally I will be getting either him or Kolarov for the GW36 doubles instead of Huth

            screw Kolarov.

Got rid last week and not getting him back. Rather have Lescott. At least he can defend and pick up bonis.

Yaya is a better use of the money you'd waste on Kolarov anyway.

hmmmm, I was told something about rule #1 or maybe it was rule #3 a while back, regardless, said rule was never put Spurs defense on fpl team

have had huth since week 10 or something so I'm fine with dumping him after the double, but that would make me bring in VDV for Nani now to save the tranfer later

Well Nani has Everton and Arsenal up next, perhaps not the worst idea!

Re: Spurs defenders, I know exactly what you mean. Their defence seems good atm tho, and its only for a few weeks so you wont be in the position (like some, including me, have been) where you have a Tot defender and there are no cleanies for something like 13 games

I think Jarvis is a good replacement for Adam. While the Adam injury has left me with 3 permenant benched players, it's also a good opportunity to get one of the other fringe players usurped by Adam.

I'm considering Jarvis myself at this point.

Personally I think O'Hara is a better option than Jarvis, but I agree with dempsey in. You could also consider shipping coleman for a defender with a DGW - either huth or hangeland, as coleman has got terrible fixtures and is a huge rotation risk.

    I'm considering a 12 point hit;
Adam, Nasri, Coleman and Tevez out
O'Hara, Dempsey, Huth and Sturridge in
which would leave me with the team:
    Begovic
    Luiz Huth Walker
    Lampard Nani Young Dempsey O'Hara
    Sturridge RVP
    Subs: Foster Hoilett Djourou RJohnson
and leaves me 7.5 in the bank
is it worth the hit? and are there any better transfers?

Wolves and Bolton have decent enough fixtures until the end of the season so I don't think that is a problem. I can bench Huth in his bad fixtures, and I'll probably lose Dempsey for next week for either Silva or Johnson.

No jackmac, for me this doesn't look like it is worth all the hits.

Taking Nasri out now is preferable but not urgent enough to warrant a 4pt hit so I would bin that idea. He can be benched or even started. You need to hold fire on the Adam sale too until more information is forthcoming.

Coleman and Tevez out looks good and is definitely +EV. Out of your options that would mean Sturridge and Huth in, which I like.

However with all that money would you not fancy Suarez or Carroll in for Liverpool's next two home games. I fancy them to outscore the DGW forwards over the next few gameweeks.

The Classified Scores at 5 o'clock reading out the Welsh scores is one of the most annoying things ever. Usually, after watching Forest Green, I get back to the car at around 5 and want to get stuck into the match reports, to hear who's been banging in the goals and assists etc... Only you have to put up with James Alexander Gordon (is it still him?) telling everyone about how Haverfordwest drew 1-1 with Newi Cefn Druids.

              Most uncool.

Zigic and Boselli must surely go down in history as the worst transfers ever ....well at any rate since some of us got Milner in and captained him for his double last season and he only lasted a few minutes.

Boselli was a bad choice though. He had no prem experience and ended up bottling it.

Zigic had a nice little spell, but it was not exactly in the same league as other cheapies such as Odem (who I transferred out to get him), Sturridge etc.

People had seen him play for Lazio and Serbia though. I did love the sequence of events around Kolarov:

            - Sensible people hype him up.
            - Sheep inevitably follow.
            - Kolarov doesn't bring in the returns.
            - Sheep lose faith and blame this site for bringing him in

It just needs to be rounded off my him getting a monster score, rewarding those who kept faith, to annoy the sheep even further.

I have recently retired from football.
I played in the top division in 5 different European countries including the English Premiership.
In each league I won a championship medal AND experienced relegation.
I scored a famous winning goal for my country.
I have played in 6 of Europe's biggest derby matches and never lost.
I played for 2 Champions League winning sides, but have never played in the Champions League Final.
