Charlie Adam is at the centre of an injury scare which could decimate Blackpool‘s survival hopes and dent the end of season fortunes of many Fantasy Managers.

The PFA Player of the Year nominee suffered a knock to his foot against Wigan on Saturday and, although Adam completed the 90 minutes, his foot has swollen badly and he is set to undergo an x-ray to determine the full extent of the problem. Although not considered to be a serious setback, Adam is currently wearing a cast and scan results will reveal whether he will be forced to sit out the impending clash with Newcastle and the matches that follow.

The last few weeks have seen Adam prove a hugely popular option for Fantasy Managers. Blackpool have had run of fixtures which included four consecutive home encounters and, even after the weekend defeat to Wigan, their schedule remains favourable enough to boost Adam’s potential (NEW STK tot BOL mun). The Blackpool skipper has earned over 150,000 investors in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game since gameweek 30.

Even before the recent surge in popularity, Adam has been a stand-out performer and a staple for many Fantasy Managers. An FPL points total of 160 is clear evidence of an outstanding first season in the Premier League and, with an ownership of 36.7% in the FPL, there will be thousands anxious to hear updates from Bloomfield Road in the next 48-hours.

We will keep you posted via the Tweets and team news as always.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Normally I'd say no for a double gameweek, but with so many good single fixtures I'd say three is fine SuperD. That is what I'm telling myself anyhow! Though if Adam is out for any length of time that could be upped to four.

Yeah, plus Bolton don't have the greatest double and do you really want Wolves players long term? Fulham's fixtures aren't great after the double either imo.....

Ha, funny you should say that - I'm thinking of Sturridge and O'Hara 🙂

I agree that Bolton's double isn't the greatest, but it is still a double and I'm going on the form of the player. A lot of people are saying Bolton may be shot on confidence after the thumping at the weekend, but I think Mark'n'Lard said earlier in the week that they may turn it on to say sorry for the fans - And I'm willing to sit in that camp too. Plus selling Zigic is something I've been looking forward to for weeks!!

Dempsey worries me as he has hurt me before in a double - But with Zamora back I'm not so sure on him (will be biting pillows during Fulham games now!) I am more tempted by Bobby Z.

As for Wolves? Doyle was a massive loss for them but they have great fixtures and when you are fighting for your life you have to put in the performances -And out of the four doublers this week, Wolves are the only side with something to really play for, all the others are safe.

Adding to the Sturridge wagon, I really like his away fixtures at Blackburn and Blackpool. Sunderland at home doesn't look too shabby either! Blackburn are without Nelsen now and Blackpool's defence plays a high line and is positively sieve like.

Zamora is surprisingly understated compared to what I expected- look at his scores when he has played. Zamora over Sturride though? I'm really gonna have to go for both. Oh and O'Hara for sure.

Booby Z is already on the watchlist for next season.

as poor as they have been, the fixtures are so good for the run in. would be nice to plug in a dirt cheap option with some potential and use the remaining weeks to strengthen the attack with as much funds as possible.

Only if they advertise a job vacancy and a non-Basque player applies.

I'd imagine no top division football club in the 21st century advertises vacancies for playing staff.

Walters is OOP up front. Ethers on set pieces and pens, and is quite a good player, unlike Walters...

Toss a coin, really, Ethers would be the safer bet.

There was a guy who complained that Redondo wasn't in there. I don't think he should be anywhere near that XI but he did do one of the best bits of skill ever done on a football pitch though. What a goal.

But, Camzy, this I can't understand.

Sturridge, who meets two teams that are tight at the back couldn't possibly be necessary? 8 point hit is quite a lot, you know.

And why didn't you hold onto Johnson, rather than jumping all over the DGWers. Not too good a DGW you know...

Because I don't want Johnson anymore.

Going for Kolarov GW 35 or 36.

It's the end of the season. These hits could work.

Sturridge I chose because I'd feel okay benching him in the weeks to come. Zamora and Carroll are much tougher to bench because they're more expensive, and I'd make mistakes choosing.

          I really can't agree.

The only reason I would pick Sturridge for the double is because of his form, and because he has quite nice fixtures after the DGW. And you want to bench him.

Still, I am considering bringing him in for Dembele. Also, I need to get rid of Nasri and/or Brunt. Tough transfer, this week...

Mmm well I guess we'll differ on this one.

People always forget there's one person from the front 8 you have to bench. I'd rather it be someone cheap and with less potential.

              Guess so.

In my case, I guess I could just stick with Dembele up front, and if I were to follow you I could do something like...

              Johnson - Hangeland
              Nasri - Etherington
              Brunt - Bale

Really, completely stuck on what to do this GW.

To be honest, I'm taking a risk with Johnson > Hangeland.

You might be better off if you're playing in a competitive mini league to stick with Johnson, play Walker, then get Kolarov next week.

                Brunt > Etherington
                Nasri > Van Der Vaart/Bale

Could always do those transfers (Brunt and Nasri OUT - Etherington and Bale IN) + Dembele OUT - Sturridge IN.

As Etherington and Sturridge rotate perfectly.

Although that backfired for me once. I purposely got Elmander for Caroll to make sure I wasn't caught, then Caroll kept scoring well and Elmander didn't and others had already got rid.

Since then I've just stuck to getting players I think will score well no matter who else has them in the league. But defensive tactics are tactics after all

Because I thought of it after. In some cases I don't think it's that stupid.

I did it more because Elmander was constantly scoring and denting my ability to get ahead (he was outscoring Caroll).

But yeah generally just play the fixtures.

Try being ol' Roman. Must have took at least 1% of his bank balance.

But I agree, Bloomin annoying, he should be playing. 50m, Ok he hasn't scored but still, as they all say, once he gets one, he's going to get shed loads.
