Maybe, Ozil got a very tasty fixture at the weekend. or have I missed something (apart from his dip in form)?

Not missed anything, that is it. Ki performing consistently well lately, and am afraid of missing the Aguero double figure comeback ala sturridge..

But Ozil is as likely to score as high as someone not guaranteed to start (both his rivals are scoring freely) and may take time to get match sharp. Ozil fixture is tasty.

          It's a tough one.

    Boruc - Davis
    Coleman - Kosc - Azpi - Ward - Chester
    Hazard - Silva - Ozil - Lallana - Colback
    Suarez - Giroud - Sturridge

I used my FT (so I don't intend to make anymore transfers this week)..assuming prices don't change, when I will eventually have done Ozil > Rambo and Giroud > Kun I will still have 2.2m left over..how would you propose I use it?

I'm thinking swapping Azpi out for Cole once Ivan is back and upgrading Colback to a playing 5m-ish mid so I have the option of rotation if need be..could also do Ward > Kolarov if he in fact is nailed on over Clichy for PL matches..(thought he scares me a bit 😯 )

    premature I know, but thoughts?

I'd do Sturridge for Kun, not Giroud. Maybe Azpi to Terry or Ivan. Colback to someone slightly better to warm your bench.

unless he blanks like mother fker I'm keeping Sturridge long-term..Giroud may get chance after chance after chance (like today) but I brought him in as a punt until Kun is ready because of the nice back-to-back fixtures

With Walcott out, Giroud is the target man and most likely for three bonus on wins when he scores. Sturridge will neither out score Suarez or get his bonus. Plus he'll get injured within 6 weeks. Giroud is going to bring in some major hauls. I'd reconsider.

Your second sentence is spoken like a man who has seen the future. Suarez just hasn't had anyone good enough to pass to in recent times, I think you'll be surprised.

Also having Sturridge, IMO, reduces the risk of not captaining Suarez as they'll likely link up for a lot of each other's goals/assists.

I have time to consider, but yeah definitely worth considering and I certainly believe Giroud will deliver if given the chance (as he's given a dozen per game).

Every time I buy Sturridge he gets injured so my opinion is definitely tainted. I also never double on the same team for the same position. Perhaps you're right... He looked great against Stoke.

I think Giroud will outscore him though. Arsenal doesn't have that many options without Walcott and the service from Ozil, Cazorla, and Sagna is pretty decent. Someone is going to get those goals.

The interesting thing is that this can't be considered a typical double up (I agree with you when it comes to doubling up, especially with strikers) because EVERYONE owns Suarez so it's almost like he's not on your team.

Thankfully their prices are very similar so the choice and future management is flexible.

Yeah - you really can't go wrong with him, as shipping him will be cake and he's bound to get points. Really good point about Suarez as well. Good luck with your strategy. I'll be the first to congratulate you when it goes your way.

and if rvp and rooney both back, cannot imagine welbeck in bench...
in form has to count for something.
who would come out for welbeck to come in?

as a pt of ref, in brasil 1970 world cup champ , arguable best team ever, had 3 THREE players playing out of their position just because u play your best players. a coach to make them fit.

Rooney may be back for Chelsea but not so sure abt rvp, might be much longer.

Thing is David Moyes is not the most reliable manager IMHO. You wouldn't know if he thinks rationally like you. Case in point is the performance of Januzaj. Kid is playing well but we still can't guarantee Moyes would give him a starting place.

His contribution was major, just not in a FPL terms. 1 misplaced pass in the whole second half. No missed passes in Arsenal's defensive end on a day when the rest of the midfield was careless with their passing (relatively). Put those things earn nothing in FPL.

    Some random musings

Just seen Sturridge's PPG (6.6) is higher than any mid in the game. SAS is officially back.

We should be seriously looking at 4-3-3 as an option. Especially for those who have lower team values.

    - Big teams usually solidify at the back end of the season.

    - More defensively strong teams this season than I can remember. The likes of Everton, Southampton who're essentially in the top 8 provide such good options at the back with their fixtures.

    - Also think the new bonus point system has really skewed the game against mids. Wilshere vs Giroud is a classic example today.

    Anyone else going 4-3-3?

4-3-3 has served me well even in the first half of the season whenever I've resorted to it.

Having Kim as the 5th mid throughout has kind of been a blessing in disguise. Actually considering keeping Kim for the season 😯

I think it's 50-50. Cole's been very good since his return and hasn't set a foot wrong too while Azpi's been consistent.

If I had my way, I'd have Azpi over ivano at RB as he offers so much going forward. But looks like Mourinho fancies Ivano as one of his untouchable.

If you're WCing in GW24, we might be able to find out the answer of Cole vs Azpi in GW23 (which is when Ivano returns I think)

Have the same decision to make. Think Kolarov for a one week punt. Zabaleta as the long-term option. City's fixtures look good over the coming months... I would consider sticking with whoever you decide to go with for the longer-term

Chelsea fan to clarify..wasn't Cole out with a broken rib and then just dropped for going to the Arsenal party? Think the LB spot is his..regardless of Ivan's return.

No. Azpi is considered to be better according to Mou. So he will start majority of the games except for the ones right before a CL game. Between Azpi and Cole the chances of starting are 70-30.

Lallana's on fire. 6.8 PPG in the last 5 games.

And possibly no sign of easing down as he looks to nail down a seat on the plane to Brazil.

pls rank from Best to least : thnx

    im thinking:

1--ramsey 7.1 (now 7.2 but assuming tomo new price)
    3--eriksen 7.2
    3--lalana 7.4
    4--Gerrard 8.8 (now 8.7, asuming tomo 8.8)
    5--cabaye 7.1

Note: pls make rank, this, assuming ramsey is fully bak and in form ( so aprox gw 23)
also, if lalllana at the top or ahead of eriksen, why? eriksen is more talented imo, byt maybe sou fixtures and better form as a team ...

eriksen - set pieces, spurs gone all out attack, seems to have free role to join all attacks
ramsey - looks to be nailed on as ars main attacking central mid (ozil/caz/wilt used from wide)
cabaye - set pieces/pens, great long shots
lallana - skillful, gd passer, but i dont see southampton scoring half as much as the other team
gerrard - set pieces, pens, great passer but looks like will be much deeper than others

thats my ranking in order.....many will have lallana higher but i fancy the southampton wheels to come off and i always prefer my attackers to be playing in teams that score the most

kimi ; your thinking is very similar to mine. we shall be minority as eriksen seems to not have much appeal.

thing w/ lallana is sou has a good run of fixtures now and heplays more forard than cabaye and eriksen it seems. but talent for talent, eriksen, ramsey, cabaye have more.

if one is to go w/ 2 of these 7.0 mids , guess eriksen and ramsey also.

problem is: ramsey will be playing 90 min as of which gw...23? w so many option , add gnabry to the list, maybe AW will not rush him, even w chammpions around,...u still would go ramsey?

well i got wallcott in as soon a i heard he was available, only to see wenger not bring him back into the first team for weeks.....i put this down to wenger not wanting to change a winning team....this may well be the case with ramsey....i own ozil and plan to downgrade to ramsey but will only do so when i see ramsey play 2 full 90 mins in a row

as for lallana he does have gd fix, is their main man in midfield and has gd ppg......it may come back to haunt me but dont fancy him as i see southampton as a more defensive team and dont think their of lallanas gd run will continue

i would go eriksen + ramsey when hes fit but lallana or cabeye are gd shouts to fill in until ramseys back

which wc team would u go with? need to maximize as my WC did not activate last fri and had haz and suarez in bench w/ no gk .beynd.

            1--boruc - DAVIS
            BAINES - kos - kolarov - chester - WHITAKER/orPARR
            haz - silva - eriksen - CABAYE (then > RAMSEY 7.1 after 1-2gw min75min) - pennant

              haz silva eriksen ozil januzai
suarez sturridge negrado(money to upgrade to aguero)

very simalar to yours so were thinking along the same lines....if kolarov becomes nailed on starter he will become essentail so gd shout to get in now.....jrod bad move imo

kagred. Kolarov there seems to be a small trend within last 5gw that clichy might not start anynlre the home game.if so, kol is a must. so im willing to payhim up to be proven wrong. worst case scenario, ill have chester + any other 3.9 to rotate from bench when city at home, since kol starts away.

3 was because of the 3 def 5.0 rotation in azpi - kos - kol to free up funds but who knows wen ivan and cole all fit in end of jan.

u have marshall w manone because of that nice rotation/fixtures. BUT w boruc bak think boruc is better than marshall no? i know marshall mre saves, bot boruc i rekon more cs potnetial?

why u dont lkike jrod? thot maybe for 6.3 guy fres uo mid funds and he delivers like a 7.5-9.1 forward

i like the defence in 3....just not yaya or jrog...think silva is at least as gd as yaya and cheaper....jrod same reasons as lallana....how many goals are southampton going to score? plus i always like 3 big hitters upfront...sturridge to get twice as much points imo

yep have marsh/mannone purely for rotation....agree boruc much better shout for cleanies than either on their own but already have clyne and that m/m rotation is insane!!! to gd to turn down

**both chichi & nasti .2 cheaper than KOL which allow me to upgrade 5th def to ward. not that i really matters that much the 5th def. nasti not sure if he was inured last gw, he did not even feature in bench. Tough since pellegrino likes & has played b4 w/ demichelis + u hav lesot as well...only komnpany nailed. unless demichelis is for champion gw and nasti for premier?
chiriches sems nailed, unless vertongehn comes back to cd, but seems vertonghen will conti nue playing as LB, and spurs seems to have commited

No. Azpi is considered to be better according to Mou. So he will start majority of the games except for the ones right before a CL game. Between Azpi and Cole the chances of starting are 70-30.

Think the big factor is what is Cole's future at Cobham.

His contract runs out this summer. So if we want to entertain any thoughts of keeping him next season, he plays. And my gut feeling says he'll be first choice at LB.

I really doubt he is going to kept next season. His legs look tired to me.

Oh sure, it isn't the same Cole as back in 2006-07. But still very much one of the best defensive LBs in the league. I can't see us buying any full backs in the foreseeable, so should be one more year in him as we ease Bertrand in until we figure out a Cole replacement.

And Azpi isn't the answer to the LB spot, long term.

A possibility considering how English defenders have usually flourished.

What do you guys think of taking a punt on Navas this week? Still got my WC so looking for a differential over the next week or two.

I think its a good punt. 442 wasn't working really and when Dzeko came off and Navas came on they started playing better. With Nasri out he has a greeat chance of starting alot of games

Ah Matic done deal apparently, undergoing a medical in London tomorrow.

AutoMatic first choice in the Chelsea midfield, likely to be playing alongside Ramires. From an FPL perspective, it would also be pragMatic to get a Chelsea defender for the run-in as you'd expect more defensive resolve now.

Got to say our starting XI is becoming rather symptoMatic of a Jose Mourinho team.

Sorry about all the puns, didn't mean them to be so trauMatic.
