Ben Foster is expected to be declared fit for Birmingham’s vital local derby encounter with Wolves on Sunday.
The former United stopper sustained back and thigh injuries in the first-half of the 5-0 drubbing at Anfield on Saturday and was forced off with the score at 2-0 to be replaced by Colin Doyle. There were doubts as to whether Foster would make a recovery in time to face Mick McCarthy’s side, in what is set to be a crucial relegation battle at St Andrews. This afternoon however, Alex McLeish offered us good news on Foster’s condition…
“Ben has made great progress…We were worried about him after he hobbled off the bus on Saturday night but the last couple of days he’s had a lot of treatement and relief and we expect him to make it on Sunday.”
The news will come as a major boost to both Birmingham and Foster’s many Fantasy owners. Only Man City’s Joe Hart is owned by more Fantasy Premier League Managers, with Foster present in over 24% of the game’s squads. Foster has justified that faith and is presently third in the points rankings behind both Hart and Chelsea’s Petr Cech.
He continues looks a strong option given Birmingham’s run-in and is set to be well placed again in our Watchlist rankings for the season finale.
