Gameweek nine is concluded today with the final three fixtures taking place. The first of a televised double-bill, sees Manchester United take that dreaded annual trip to the Britannia Stadium.

There’s no surprise that Wayne Rooney is an absentee for the visitors, and that hands an opportunity to young Javier Hernandez to partner Dimitar Berbatov upfront. Elsewhere, Gary Neville gets a game a right-back, pushing John O’Shea into a midfield position.

The home side line-up as predicted. Boring…

Stoke City XI: Sorensen, Huth, Shawcross, Faye, Collins, Pennant, Wilson, Delap, Etherington, Walters, Jones

Man United XI: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, O’Shea, Scholes, Nani, Hernandez, Berbatov

Then it’s off to Eastlands for the interesting match-up between Man City and Arsenal, where I need a Tevez no-show to stand any chance of a round three place in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III.

That games kicks off at 4pm, but before that (and untelevised thankfully) is Blackburn’s visit to Anfield at 3pm.

For up-to-the-minute fantasy updates, head over to our Dugout Discussion for the day’s action where, if Morrissey1986 is in attendance, you’ll get goal alerts before they’re even broadcast.

    I have 2 free transfers next week. My current team is:

    Schwarzer Carson
    Alex Dann Shawcross Konchesky Jones
    Adam Malouda Nani VDV Barton
    Drogba Tevez Carroll

    I was thinking to either do:
    A) Adam --> Nasri, Shawcross --> Coleman
    B) Adam --> Nasri, Alex --> Coleman, Schwarzer --> Cech (-4pt)
    C) Malouda --> Fabregas
    D) Adam --> Fabregas, Tevez --> Elmander

    Which do people think is best, or any other suggestions?

    I imagine everyone is tiring of questions like this, but...

    Should Fabs survive the City hatchet men, who best to trade him for?

    A Arteta (poss hamstring trouble)
    B Malouda (poss rest)
    C VDV (dodgy fixtures)
    D Nani

      I have those four and i can't bring myself to transfer out any of them.

      Arteta - good fixtures coming up. As important for Everton as Fabs is for Arsenal (arguably) - and despite Everton not being as good as Arsenal, they're starting to hit form.
      Malouda - Quality form, pretty much playing as a forward in a great team.
      VDV - Basically playing as a striker and is a different class for his price - spurs look good this season imo and they have alot of players comign back from injury too, can only see them kicking on despite difficult fixtures.
      Nani - Really starting to live up to the hype, been great all season really, and becoming increasingly important for united.

      Put Fabs in that fifth slot and you're really talking! I'm thinking about sacrificing Drogs to do that!!

        Funnily enough, after giving him the armband yesterday, I was thinking just that! I would feel much happier sacrificing Adam. I could Drog > Odem and have the strongest midfield imaginable...

        Dropping Drogba though... surely that's insane?

          The way i'm looking at it is that it's not really dropping Drogba as such, more swapping Drogba for Fabs, which in that light looks alot less insane.

          It's basically the move i'm of, and i would play all five midfield every week along with Tevez - then rotate Carrol and Odemwingie.

          Gah, i know what you mean, it's a difficult descision whichever way you look at it. But that as a 5 man midfield would rake in the points everyweek - surely enough to soften to blow of losing drogba. And you still have Malouda for when Chelsea run riot...

    Not watching the game sadly, how's Berba been playing? Not doing much and still yelling loudly at his teammates (as someone so kindly mentioned before)?

    Out the cup unless O'Shea misses a pen, then gets sent off, along with Nasri doing the same 🙁

    I wish Kelly would get more games for us, especially with Johnson out. That defence is awful, at least Poulsen doesn't make the team any more

      I am 7 points behind in my head-2-head with
      Konchesky, Jones + Tevez vs VDS + Berbs

    Berba's making my weekly transfers easy so far. Wouldn't mind a leaving present from him but on this showing it's bye-bye Berba.
