Gameweek nine is concluded today with the final three fixtures taking place. The first of a televised double-bill, sees Manchester United take that dreaded annual trip to the Britannia Stadium.

There’s no surprise that Wayne Rooney is an absentee for the visitors, and that hands an opportunity to young Javier Hernandez to partner Dimitar Berbatov upfront. Elsewhere, Gary Neville gets a game a right-back, pushing John O’Shea into a midfield position.

The home side line-up as predicted. Boring…

Stoke City XI: Sorensen, Huth, Shawcross, Faye, Collins, Pennant, Wilson, Delap, Etherington, Walters, Jones

Man United XI: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, O’Shea, Scholes, Nani, Hernandez, Berbatov

Then it’s off to Eastlands for the interesting match-up between Man City and Arsenal, where I need a Tevez no-show to stand any chance of a round three place in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III.

That games kicks off at 4pm, but before that (and untelevised thankfully) is Blackburn’s visit to Anfield at 3pm.

For up-to-the-minute fantasy updates, head over to our Dugout Discussion for the day’s action where, if Morrissey1986 is in attendance, you’ll get goal alerts before they’re even broadcast.

    Just out of interest.... In pre-season we were told on here that Blackburn were experimenting with 3 at the back. Is that actually true, or did the contributors just see 5 defenders (Jones counting as a defender) playing in the matches, and assumed that they were playing 3/5 at the back...

    Or were people actually watching the matches and they were genuinely playing 3-5-2?

    b4 Chelsea and Arsenal games, i'm thinking of 2 transfer for GW 10

    - Malouda -> Cesc
    - A.Cole -> Bosingwa

    but now looks like take out Malouda is stupid??

      Yes. Incredibly so.

      Malouda is effectively a forward. He has more scoring opportunities than Fab and will play more games. Anybody who's had him since week 1 would be foolish to sell.

        i got Malouda since week 1.
        i think i really really think twice b4 get rid of him.
        maybe bring in Nasri, instead of bring in Cesc.

    It’s going to be slightly painful to take Nasri out for Fabregas this week.

    I hope Nasri rises again before the weekend with Fabs not going up. Might as well get the .1 profit.

    I know he gave away the pen, but I can't think of a better defender in the league than Kompany at the minute. Vidic maybe.

      Vidic for sure. He's not playing a defensive side with three destroyers sat in front of him either. Kompany is having a great season though; he's displaying the ability that marked him out as a wunderkind.
