This is one of those rare weeks when I feel all the hard work was worth it. I've been struggling for weeks going with the safe options and overanalyzing. In last week's WC I said feck this and went with punts I believed in, without being too influenced by fixtures. Since then AJ, Lallana, Mata and Adrian have hit the jackpot both gameweeks, the Terry and Cahill double has got off to a good start and this week's punt of Aguero & Rat > Sturridge & Yoshida (-4) has already in all likelihood yielded a profit. I've had plenty of mistakes already too - McGregor got sent off, Kolarov came on for a 1pter to keep Lallana on the bench last week, and I got Bony the level 100 Magikarp. But so far the successes outweigh the mistakes and I'm sitting on 40(-4) with 5 and captain to play.
I've seen so many people here saying "if only they hadn't put me off this player" - just do it. It's the only way to play the game. If you fail and it's your pick, you learn. If you fail and it's not your pick, you learn nothing. If you succeed and it's not your pick, you learn nothing. If you succeed and it's your pick, you learn and the points are all the sweeter.
What stopped me from punting in the past was the fear of blanking. But if that happens to you when you play it safe, you have nothing to lose. Aim for the stars and you might land in the clouds.
Do your own thing. Learn from your mistakes. Embrace valour forever.

There's a lot of midpriced goalscoring mids, all of Eriksen, Lallana and (I can't stand him) Mirallas are proven. Good attacking teams and good involvement - plus in the right frame of mind. AJ is the best example though it is a punt with the fixtures

Fixtures matter of course and are a great tie breaker but it just seems attacking points are far less dependent on fixture than defensive points. Too many potential scorers in most teams and form becomes important etc. For example AJ was of no interest even with good fixtures until he rediscovered his hungerOpen Controls
