If you’ve yet to enter our two new cup competitions, we thought we’d give you a final heads-up ahead of this weekend’s qualifying round. There’s the ninth instalment of our open-to-all cup competition, as sponsored by Paddy Power, in addition to the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup IV, with both set to take place over the season run-in.

If you’re familiar with our competitions you can get your entries in right now via the links below. If you’re new to all this, read on for an FAQ on the competitions.

Enter the Paddy Power IX Cup via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup IV via this entry form.

Are there prizes?

Paddy are supplying the competition with some great prizes and, once again, we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX is as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the top scoring manager from each round will win a £25 free bet from Paddy Power on supply of their Paddy Power username.

For the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup IV, the prizes are:

Winner – £200 Amazon voucher.

Runner-up – £100 Amazon voucher

How do the cup competitions work?

Our cup competitions are very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying rounds for both cups will take place in Gameweek 27 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday February 24 will be entered into the qualifying rounds. In the Paddy Power XI cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1016 (plus eight previous winners who will earn a bye, if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 27 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 28. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions. The same rules apply in the Members Cup, although we will restrict this to 512 teams in the first round.

How do I enter?

You can enter the Paddy Power IX Cup via the entry form here.
Members can also enter the Members Cup IV via this entry form.

In both cases you will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming.

You can check that you are entered the Paddy Power IX Cup via this list and this list for the Members Cup.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying rounds of both cups will be published on or around Tuesday February 25 and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

These Cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule

Paddy Power Cup XI Round Dates

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 27
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 28

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round of both cups will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter (although it is for the Members Cup) – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament.

      Morning fellow sufferers of FPL.

Interesting to read rumours Ozil will be spared the indignity of playing this GW (http://www.footytube.com/news/guardian/arsenal-set-to-recall-olivier-giroud-but-mesut-ozil-to-drop-out-L29440?ref=hp_trendian). Impact on the teamsheets might be interesting. Ox has been one of our most threatening players with his pace so I'd think he'll stay right wing instead of deputizing in central midfield. I think this is an obvious chance for Cazorla to move into the hole which he enjoyed so much last season (innuendo intentional) and perhaps another obvious chance to play Podolski on the left, a chance you don't normally get with Ozil around. Sunderland's defence isn't that brilliant though they are lively and could press us in midfield. Hence having two passers in Arteta and Wilshere might be preferable to having one destroyer in Flamini, who we wheel out to save us against the big teams.

      My guess then

      --------------Giroud
      Podolski---Caz------Ox
      -------Arteta Wilshere
      Monreal Kos Mert Sagna
      ------------Sir Chez

It is, it's only a rumour and could easily have been made up. Wenger has come out and said Ozil is "not over" his miss and I think Ozil posted that he felt pretty bad on his facebook. So sounds at the very least like it's affected him... which might be a good thing.

Yeah, it's frustrating because Caz went through a very long spell were he looked awful and was struggling to get used to Ozil shunting him left. Then he eventually picked up, at which point Arsenal turned a bit shite. Now there's only two games left. I'd actually like to own him for those two. If not him, Ox

Sunderland aren't actually that great in the air, or at the back in general (Mannone has been saving their sorry asses) so it might be a bit of a better fixture than usual for him. But that's like saying today might bring better weather than usual to England. I would swap for Ade myself.

lol, opinions change alright. I remember I started to knock Giroud for his lack of pace and tiredness 8-9 weeks ago and was told by loads of fellow fans that I didn't understand him and was not appreciating his value to the team. I think he's a great team player, but there's a basic principle that a striker should actually be at risk of scoring goals.

        Pretty sure Giroud will start.

We've got to remember Giroud has been getting closer and closer to using a wheelchair as the season progresses. It's been like watching someone run a marathon, they start off all smiles like "watch me go" and then they start to tire, by the end every step looks like they're swimming in lava. I think Sanogo is just there to give him a much needed rest.

Idk what arsenal forums you've gone through... Sanogo is just the flavour of the week

People who hate Giroud, the donkey, are the same people who think Ozil is overrated, and quite frankly they should be writing for the Daily Mail.

is that the Arsenal Mania forum? I wouldn't listen to anything those "fans" have to say - all they do is whinge whinge whinge

If you ever visit the match day forum you will see as soon as they go behind it's "WENGER OUT!!" and "Ours players don't know what they are doing" then suddenly they are 2-1 up and it's all smiles again

This is me then, praying for a missing in action green arrow....

      Coleman, Kos, Burner
      Snoddy, Hazard, Yaya, Mata
      RVP, JRod, Suarez

      Adrián
      Coleman / Azpilicueta / Fabio
Hazard / Yaya Touré / Mata / Lallana
      Suárez / Sturridge / Adebayor

Boruc / Gnabry / Ward / Ryan Bennett

      0.8m ITB and 1FT available

I've got an unplayable bench - that's happened to all my wildcards this season, picking players that suddenly go missing in action by the next few gameweeks.
