FFS Paddy Power Cup IX and Members Cup IV – Second Round Draws

We roll out the draw for the Second of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX and Members Cup IV, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the First Round took place over Gameweek 28. Please not that, as explained in this initial article, these ties won’t take place until Gameweek 30 due to the numerous blanks in the fixture schedule this weekend:

In the Fantasy Football Scout IX, reigning champion Tdubb05 is through to the next round and will face Denis Denis when the action resumes. Looking at some of the other former champions, MCH takes on BroTown_Tindersticks, Jonty is up against coletrickle88, donnellyc squares up to Carlton Palmer and Gooner Dave takes on Fitzy.

The tie of the round sees two of the top 500 FPL managers go head-to-head.Skeptical, currently sitting in 136th spot in the overall standings, take on Lardy, who isn’t far behind in 470th spot.

You can click here to check out the second round draw, which gets underway next weekend, whilst the full list of first round results can be found here.

In the Members Cup IV, reigning champion Acqufresca fell at the first hurdle. He was knocked out by Caladan Brood, who now faces Quite Big Dunc next time around, whilst another former winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, takes on Droginexile. The top-ranked manager is 2nd Man – currently sitting in 380th overall, he’s up against Fitzy (39,504) for a place in the next round.

You can click here to check out the second round draw, which gets underway next weekend, whilst the full list of first round results can be found here.

As always, good luck to all those still in with a shout of the silverware.

Surely there's been no-one worse than 2002 South Korea? 😯

yes. i said Easy Germany making reference to easy deciding the fact of one of the worst evil performances by a player or team. Aware it was West germany, watched that match, and after brasil was sent out by taly ( my worst losss ever in watching football) i wanted france badly to win it fr their finesse as a team. the goal by france towards the end was insane.

Ah I read it as East Germany 🙂

Alan Giresse I think. Their midfield was amazing. Platini, Giresse, Tigana, Fernandez. Should have won the World Cup, yet England beat them convincingly.

All this chat is reminding me what a rollercoaster a World Cup can be, although for it to be like that, England have to convince folk that they might, just might, win it. That's not happened since 90.

When we beat Cameroon, I think the nation started to dream.

We had Lineker with Gazza and Platt suddenly propelled to world class, Barnes and Waddle out wide with Butcher and Walker at the back in front of Shilton. That's some spine with wide players who could conjure something from nothing. We did have Paul Parker, though.

Even so, I sometimes think we'll never get that close in my lifetime.

Yep, that's when it changed. We had a class team before we left with no self belief. I remember being in the pub for weeks before extolling the virtues of Gazza being one of the best players in the world..The usual reply was that he was a clown..Turns out he was both.

Can you suggest any defenders for 5.6 or less that would be worth a hit to bring in for GW29 only?

More than 5.6 and I'm wild carding as soon as gw29 begins so forget the doubles, just for this week alone

for a hit none of them, especially as it likely means getting rid of a gw31 doubler

hmm, maybe fonte. if you'd take 4 points from your defender then technically you should do nothing

Have Boruc K Davis and Lallana! You've just confirmed what I already thought though, considered Shawcross but I thought probably not for a hit
