Gunners too much for 10 man City, Liverpool beat Big Sam but stay in the drop zone and Little Pea shows his class. Here’s the rest of this gameweek’s Scout Notes…

Man United managed to win away from home in the league for the first time this season thanks to Javier Hernandez’s double at the Brittania. With the injured Wayne Rooney still a few weeks away from a return, Little Pea showed the club have alternative quality options upfront, with a superbly improvised header for United’s first, as he picked up the maximum 3 Bonus Points. Although this wasn’t reflected in the Bonus Point allocation, Nemanja Vidic put in a superb shift at the back to comfortably nullify the threat of Kenwyne Jones, as well as providing the assist for United’s first.

Stoke slumped to their second defeat on the trot and despite a brilliant equaliser from Tuncay giving Tony Pulis’ side brief hope, United took the lead soon after against a largely uninspiring performance from the home side. With their next two games (eve, sun) things aren’t looking too bright for a side who have yet to pick up a clean sheet on their travels all season.

Liverpool managed a narrow 2-1 win against Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn but still remain in the relegation zone. Sotirios Kyrgiakos grabbed a goal and all 3 Bonus Points and although a Jamie Carragher own goal meant they have now went five games without recording a clean sheet, Fernando Torres second goal of the season proved to be the winner at Anfield.

Sam Allardyce’s side had Paul Robinson to thank for keeping Liverpool at bay; the Blackburn keeper recorded 6 saves in a performance which saw him awarded 2 Bonus Points, making it 5 in the last 2 gameweeks. Robinson is now the highest-scoring budget keeper in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, sitting behind Petr Cech and Joe Hart. Carragher’s own goal means no Blackburn player has scored in any of their three October league games.

The fourth-minute dismissal of Dedryk Boyata at Eastlands meant it was always going to be an uphill struggle for Man City against Arsenal. Despite a spirited performance after going a goal behind midway through the first half, fatigue set in come the final quarter of the game, and City were picked off two more times as the Gunners pass and move proved too much for them. Carlos Tevez limped off in the 53rd minute, though the extent of any injury is yet unclear.

Arsenal even had the luxury of a missed Cesc Fabregas penalty in their 3-0 win over City. Samir Nasri once again showed the form that suggests he may be a cheap alternative to Fabregas, with a goal, assist and all 3 Bonus Points in the match at Eastlands. Alex Song bagged the second and Nicklas Bendtner, returning from injury, scored the third after being on the pitch for just four minutes in an overall team performance that delighted Arsene Wenger.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I hate the way lampard is protected. It means if he ever gets back on form you will still have to pay 12.7 for him when you could get him at a much cheaper price if he wasnt protected.

I get that a player is protected when he's coming back from injury, but he's been injured for nearly 5 weeks now and hasn't budged in price.

    Hi

    I have one dilemma :

    A) Alex and nani > Cole and nani
    no point hit

    B) Alex and Nani > Mummy and fabs
    4 point hit

    Thanks

As good form as Nasri is in, there's so much competition that he or Asrshavin may well be rested occasionally (Walcott, Rosicky, Wilshere).

From what I've understood Adam only got a cut in his leg and Elmo suffered a knock and no ligament damage. To go around telling people these two players are out injured is nonsense.

sunderland are poor away but it being a derby game there will surely be an attacking threat from them.

So I got rid of Gerrard the other night and brought in Fabregas and made a healthy 0.1M profit on Gerrard in the process :P. My plan was to get rid of Bale and bring in Arteta too this week but I'm having second thoughts.

Moyes seems pretty confident Arteta will be fit for saturdays game but the question is will he start? Besides, I have a good feeling about Bale away at Man U and after that Spurs' got a few decent fixtures coming up. Bale's price keeps falling aswell and I would hate to miss out on any profit.

    Gah, the decisions.

      scary arteta facts:
in his last 20 games he's only got 2 assists.
in the 3 'easy' fixtures this season he's got 2,2,2.

      good points:
8 goals in his last 20 games
despite not really catching fire he's still averaging about 5ppg.
      with under 5% ownership he's a differential
STK, blp, BOL - 3 defences with hardly a clean sheet between them.

Mummy (Derby @ St James'), Salcido (Home to wigan)

    Malouda, Nani, Bale, Nasri, VDV

    Odemwingie, Tevez, Chamakh.

Which 2 do I leave out for gameweek 10? I'm thinking Mummy- Newcastle will be fired up for this + after a good result + home advantage). My head says bench Odemwingie (Blackpool away- just coming back from injury) but my heart says bench VDV (V united away). I thought of Bale but after the disaster United had at right back V Stoke and Bales form it'd be tough to leave him out.

    So, who to leave out;

    (1) Mummy & VDV
    (2) Mummy & Bale
    (3) Mummy & Odemwingie
    (4) Salcido & VDV
    (5) Salcido & Bale

Who is the best option... Mignolet or Al-Habsi?

I know neither are great, but who is most likely to keep their place. Mignolet seems to be keeping Gordon out currently but will it continue?

Al-Habsi has been No.1 but couldn't play at the weekend so will this mean kirkland could regain the spot?

The Mig won't be dropped. You can't replace someone who has kept 3 clean sheets in a row and is apart of the second best defence in the league.

    Afternoon lads,

I am thinking on doing the first 8 point hit this season. And I have 0.0 m budget to maneuver. The possible trades and reasons:

    - Malouda - Fabs - this was discussed a lot so we could skip this topic easily. I mean that the captain is most important in the FF so be it.

    - VDV out Nasri in - VDV has mun and bol next and Nasri has two very promising games. Plus VDV has CL fixtures where he must play so he could be rested at some point. Nasri technically could be rested also, but Arsenal are safe in CL so I think he surely will play in premier league. He is in incredible form, joint with Arsenal side so there could be goal fest in the next 2 and the Wolves game. So I will give 4 point advantage to VDV. I think they can be earned back from Mr. Nasri.

    - The last transfer is Konchesky out Jags in - I am not assured of Coleman starting role and jags has started with the bonuses. In next 6 they play 4 at home and Liv are conceding from everybody literally, so this 4 points could be back in 1,2 fixtures IMO. Plus Jags is keeper.

I appreciate opinion. This transfers will be done around Tuesday/Wednesday because I am short on cash. The only thing that worries me in this plan is Tevez injury. But I am way ahead in my mini league and wiling to take some risks.

    Cheers,

This is what im dealing with at the minute:

            Hart/Carson

            Cole/Bosingwa/Coleman/Salcido/Babtiste

            Nasri/Walcott/Van Der Vaart/Etherington/Nzogbia

            Tevez/Berbatov/Drogba

Where do we go from here?

              Coops.

That is a bloody good team. Have you made any transfers so far this week? Did you make any last week?

To quote Nick Cave, Where do we go now but nowhere? You just sit back and wait for the deadline to approach before you do anything at all!

I made my transfer for this week on saturday. Wilshere for Walcott. After reading some of the posts on here though I fear Nasri and Walcott may not get on the pitch much together. If you were picking 11 from that squad for gameweek 10 wat would they be?

Listen my new found friend. Transfers on Saturday is the road to destruction for you if you have a problem of making too many transfers. Stop looking at the 0.1 here and there and make do with what you have.

I think the Walcott gamble could pay off, you just wait now and hope it does since you've already made the transfer. Team is good, don't make any more transfers this week. I strongly suggest that you make it a habit to not even look at transfers before thursday or friday.

                  Tevez, Berbatov, Drogba
                  Subs: Salcido, Ethers, Baptiste

    hi guys

    my team is

    carson/stockdale
    j.oshea/dann/elmo/r.johnson/tamas
    Nasri/Van.der.vaart/Malouda/Bale/Adam
    Berbatov/Drogba/Tevez

adam/tamas and depending on fixture one birmingham defender or oshea on bench

is there any where i could improve (i know keeper area is week)
thinking of foster , but relying of birmingham too much then.
stockdale is injured (any decent replacements?)
i have .3 in the bank
