I was looking at Delph prior to the Benteke injury as a replacement for Sterling.

Westwood took the FK vs United.

        Bacuna now on Penalties?

I have 2 frees this week but struggling to see a transfer. 3.9 in bank

    Foster (Adrian)
    Kolarov, Coleman, Ivanovic, Olsson (Shaw)
    Yaya, Silva, Snodgrass, (Lallana, Januzaj)
    Suarez (c), Sturridge, Lukaku

Thinking Adrian to Speroni just so I have a double gameweek keeper. Anyone doing a more boring transfer?

The simple fact of the matter is that we just don't know whether these two will start games. Surely it would be better to have nailed on players. I think at least one of those two has to go this week.

More boring transfer: Yobo to Chester.

I've also got 2 FTs, if I use them next week then I can have 9 DGWs which is all I want (all exc Lallana and Suarez).

Getting Chester in is for GW37. He'll be on my bench this week and no match next week.

I have resolved that the only thing I can do with my 2FT's is downgrade Olsson (4.2m). I already have Ward so who are the best cheap defenders going around for less than 4.2m (will likely sit on my bench most of the time).

Naughton might be dropped for Vertonghen soon when he's back from injury.

Chambers is a sure starter if Clyne remains injured but might get rotated when he returns.

Chester is a viable option however, and for 3.8 with a DGW37 in hand he could be gold, especially as he will free up some extra cash. I think he is the best bet of the three.

I dunno about Baker. Looks like he just filled Clark's boots for a while.

              Villa has FUL/cpal/SOUTH/swans/HULL & citeh

Not to bad for 4.3m. Vlaar has 12 boners already and Villa haven't kept a single CS when he was out injured and that includes games vs SWANS/WHAM/CPAL/ful

Yeah I remember having Vlaar in my team for their good spell in the middle of the season. They haven't been the same since. Good fixtures though, could be a good bet. I can't risk getting Baker though if he's not certain to start.

Ryan, I have exactly the same issue and the two I'm contemplating are Chester or Baker...

Villa fans seem to think Baker has done well enough to be first choice and clearly he has the better fixtures!

Save a transfer. Not a lot you can do this week. The standard Suarez captain is probably the way to go once again. I'd consider starting Coleman as well but its a close one between him and Olsson.

        Cheers Ryan.

Saving FT will probably come in handy for the Aguero move next week. Really not sure between Coleman and Molsson. Coleman is at home and that makes me feel nervous benching him. Arsenal are injury plagued and may easily have an off day at the Goodison.

Getting him and not a Citeh defender for their run of 5/6 CS have been a disaster.

Evra has scored 8 in his last 5, while Zaba scored 25 and Demi 36.

Who do people think are the players good enough to consider transferring in just for next week's doubles?

    Everton - Baines, Coleman, Lukaku
Man City - multiple defenders, Silva, Nasri, Yaya, (Aguero if fit)
Palace - if you haven't got any yet, don't bother
    Sunderland - ditto?

    Agree/disagree?

Your season similar to mine. Since playing our 2nd WC it was red arrows all around.

Depends what your plan is for the rest of season...ML to win? H2h's? Our overall rank is blown out of the water, so I'm tempted to gamble with (c) and differentials and have some fun in the process.

But yes, those are as template as you get. It's not going to gain us much in rankings as I think the 130k odd of players ahead of us know what they are doing.

Yeah, this is traditionally the time of season that my ranking rockets upwards, but this season has been appalling. My trouble is I've tried to play the fixtures and tried to avoid "chasing points", but unfortunately that strategy hasn't worked at all. (Should have just bought the obvious people and stuck with them really).

I finally cracked and got Yaya in this week. He cost me 30k in rank in the dgw.

I would maybe even consider going without too much Everton if you're only getting them in now. Fixtures pretty sour post GW34 so you'll want a quick exit strategy.

Yes, that actually sounds reasonable. But I'm hesitant with Miralla due to both gametime and the more difficult team Arsenal (though Arsenal has been letting a lot of balls in the net lately).

        So maybe I should do B, C, E.

The case against Mutch though is that I have Speroni as my goalkeeper.

    Adrian (mannone)
    baines vlaar evra (chester shaw)
    hazard silva michu snoddy (barkley)
    suarez rooney lukaku

The only transfer strategy i can think of:
A: save FT as i expect evra to start..in the event he doesnt, chester might keep a cleanie
    B: evra >> zabaleta

The plan in gw34 is to do rooney + michu >> aguero + AJ

Entirely possible. Just wondering how you felt about it. If your gut tells you thats the way to go it might be a good idea. However, clean sheets are major uncertainties, so people tend to put their faith in the more expensive attackers and rely on cheap defenders. It's not just city defender vs SIlva. Gotta look at city defender + cheap mid vs silva + cheap defender.

Idea for possible rule change for next season. Someone may have thought of this already, but.......

Be allowed to sub in one player on your bench for one of your starters. However, the move will cost you your free transfer for the following gameweek.

So, for example, this gw just gone I could've transferred in Ward for Coleman or Cahill and gotten his 12 points but at the forfeit of a free transfer this week.

The loss of a free transfer makes it fair for everyone and means players will have to think before just subbing in a player from their bench especially if they need to make transfers the following gw as that will now cost them 4 pts.

I'd rather have the guaranteed points. Would make cheap explosive bench players very valuable.

You only need to transfer someone with 4 more than the player you take out to come out even. Silly idea imo but would make having a full team played more important.

I love ideas like this - even if there is a flaw in the logic - so wouldn't call it silly. But if you have a 6 pointer (say) on your bench it's a bit of a no brainer to sub them in for your inevitable 1 pter.

It's silly when there's a big flaw. FTs are really worth 4 pts imo. You got the math straight away. I'd prefer the sub a player for a player who hasn't played & lose a FT & hope they cover the hit compared to having "known" points to play with. May as well make it automatic 12th man. Buried Ward as 3rd sub coming on would be a joke.
