Sunday drops the curtain on our Fantasy seasons, signalling that it’s time for us to free up the part of our brains dedicated to the fortunes of our squads. Our thoughts and energies can now turn to such pressing matters as DIY, gardening, cleaning the car and spending time with our partners and friends. Alternatively, we could pass the time picking the bones out of the season passed.

Let’s go for option B.

Our end of season coverage kicks-off next week, with plenty of ideas up our sleeve to help you into June and July, when the pre-season friendlies and transfer merry-go-round will have us pondering selections for the 2011-12 shift.

Things start now with our Team of the Season awards – a process we’re opening up to you guys. We’re going to be running polls to gather your views on the players that earn acclaim as the leading Fantasy Football figures this season. Just to be clear, you’re voting on those players who had the biggest impact from a Fantasy perspective – taking their points tallies, price and performances into account. Your votes will help shape our thinking for the Team of the Season awards, with coverage coming your way early next week.

We start proceedings with the voting for the Goalkeeper of the season. Few introductions are needed for the candidates on offer here, so you can get right down to the voting. You’ll find the poll on the front page above this week’s Captain Poll. Voting the goalkeeper of the season will close on Thursday morning.

The grease monkey bench percentage is the most irrelevant thing in this world.

If you choose to have a strong team of 15 players, which allows you to get away with injuries, suspensions & restings, you will have a higher bench percentage.

If you choose to have 2 shitty bench-everyweek defenders and 1 shitty bench mid/forward, you will have a low bench percentage.

People are just too emotional about the points sitting on their benches.

  disagree. Nearly every week you are going to have at least a couple of 1/2 point players. No-one is going to always make the right choice, but if you have an extremely high amount of points on your bench, it shows that you perhaps dont select the correct players (ie like me) enough

  Almost everyone that plays this game well tries to have a strong squad so they can play the fixtures. Especially once team value has been increased a bit. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone on here with 3 dirt cheap players they bench every week.

7 points from top spot in my work and winner takes all leagues (yes is the same opponent!... 1 free transfer and £2.7 mil to spare, team as it stands if I do nothing is:

Foster*
Skrtel, Hangeland*, Baines
N'Zogbia, Adam, Lampard, Maxi Rodriguez
Odemwingie*, Suarez, Van Persie*
(c) not decided yet
Bench: Luiz, Hitzlsperger, Huth

The leader has 1 free transfer and the * players in his team already. Our teams are pretty different so I totally think who wins will come down to captain choice... I also suspect he may do a 4 or 8 point hit this week to try and go for it.

Do I leave as is and hope for the best? or do I go for glory and risk an 8 point hit? To do:

Fat Frank -> VDV or A relegation battler mid like Larsson / Olsson
and,
Odem and Suarez -> Tevez and Berbs

Was thinking Odem to Suarez and Rooney to Berbatov? Should I sell Luiz as well because my only decent defenders are Walker and Simpson for the last week.
