Did anyone notice that Wayne Rooney is celebrating having got 20,000,000 FB fans by giving away a pair of football boots to one lucky winner?

At £170 the boots represent a huge outlay for Wayne of 0.00085pence per fan, or a whole 6 seconds of his earnings from his base MANU weekly pay packet. [£25 a second I think, waking or sleeping, and that;s not including any sponsorship money from Nike, or even FREE BOOTS]

        Nah it has gone down a bit in quality the last few years that is a fact.
        But at least there is some excitment in watching a game, in mens tennis there are maybe 2-3 games worth watching quality-wise that are not already decided before game starts in a tourny.....

& here are a few lines & quotes on Costa's injury on whether he starts or not. What I will add is Spanish journalist Guillem Balague thinks it's highly unlikely he will play.....

Star striker Costa remains a major doubt for the match because of a hamstring injury, though he did train with the squad on Friday evening ahead of the Lisbon showdown.

Atletico are trying everything to get their star striker fit, including a course of treatment that involves horse placenta.

Costa suffered the injury in last weekend's draw at Barcelona which clinched the Primera Liga title.

That astonishing achievement will be eclipsed if they beat the city's aristocrats Real in the Portuguese capital.

And coach Simeone remains confident that whether Costa is fit or not, they can clinch an incredible double.

"We'll examine Costa but we have other injury doubts too," said Argentinian Simeone. "They trained better yesterday but we'll wait and see."

Turkish midfielder Arda Turan was also hurt in the Nou Camp game, but appears more likely to make the starting line-up on Saturday than Costa.

"Costa and Arda are important players but they're just names," Simeone added. "It will either be them playing or two other players that we know."

What a shame, if he were to have stayed could have been excellent pick if classed as midfielder.

Any hopes that Roberto Martinez had of keeping Deulofeu were dashed earlier this week when Barcelona announced that he would be a part of Luis Enrique's plans for next season at the Nou Camp.

I don't like the argument about which league is stronger based on the participants of the CL final. The Bundesliga wasn't the strongest league last year because it was a Dortmund v Bayern final nor is La Liga the strongest league based on a Real v Atletico final.   Hard to compare players because football has changed so much. I watched part of a 1970's Brazil teams world cup game, and the players seem to just walk. The standard just looked so much lower.

Following on from the post above...

I saw Ronaldo play twice, first time, was for Utd, I didnt even notice him playing.

Second time, he scored 3 goals, but he didnt play good at all. One was a crap free kick, the wall was pathetic. He didnt even hit the ball good. The other 2 were headers from corners.
