It has been revealed by Roy Hodgson that Peter Odemwingie’s season has finished early after the striker suffered an ankle injury. He will now certainly miss the Baggies’ last encounter of the season – a trip to the North East to face Newcastle.

The Nigerian forward has been one of the Premier League’s signings of the season, cropping up with 15 goals and 9 assists. This good form has established him as a firm Fantasy Premier League favourite and he currently holds an ownership of 19.7%.

If this final gameweek wasn’t stressful enough, almost one-in-five FPL Managers are now left with another last-gasp decision. At 5.8 Odemwingie stands out remarkably against other cheap forwards and it is generally slim pickings when pondering the rest of this price bracket.

The obvious choice would be Steven Fletcher of Wolves – one of the most in-form players in the league with 5 goals in his last 5 outings as well as 6 FPL bonus points. Priced at just 4.8, he could also free up an extra million for other areas of the squad in need of a last hurrah.

Going off past form, Marc-Antoine Fortune seems the most likely candidate to lead the Baggies line in Odemwingie’s absence. Even with a cheap 5.0 valuation, his record of just 2 goals and 1 assist in 24 Premier League games (albeit mostly as a sub) doesn’t make him particularly attractive. Fortune has rarely completed the full 90 minutes this season, so expect him to be replaced by Ishmael Miller.

With a dwindled potency, West Brom are lacking much attacking potential, a clean-sheet could be on the cards for the Newcastle backline. Those Managers shopping for a goalkeeper look no further than Tim Krul, at 3.9 he is as cheap as they come and holds the capacity to grab some end of season points.

Elsewhere in the Newcastle defence, Jose Enrique is a snip at 4.7 and offers assist and Bonus point potential, respectively notching up 2 and 11 this season. Whilst Steven Taylor has scored in his last 2 Premier League fixtures and is yours for just 3.9.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Argh, VDV was a big differential for me this week. I think my rival is bringing in Berba so unfortunately I have to look elsewhere.

Was thinking either Anderson (guaranteed to play, probably in an advanced role) or Nani? (not guaranteed, but could score big if he does).

Used a free transfer to bring in Berb for Ba. If my rival takes a hit, is it worth a 4 point hit for VDV > Hunt/Nani?

    Team is ...

    Foster/(Begovic)
    Walker/Spector/Ward/(Huth/Luiz)
    NZogbia/Adam/Young/Malouda/(VDV)
    Drogba/Balotelli/RVP

plan was Balo and Drogba to Tevez and Berba
shall I just do that and play Malouda v Everton, or keep Drogba, and lose VDV/Malouda for Modric and stll get Berba??

The last 2 games vdv missed, Tottenham scored 3 goals in each of them, so it doesn't hinder their goalscoring ability much.

Plus Begovic is at home, against a team, who are less prolific infront of goal generally.

    Hi all

I am TWO points behind mini-league leader and my team is as follows:

    VDS (Mignolet)
    Luiz, Walker, Kolorov (Carr, Coleman)
VDV, Kuyt, NZogbia, Y Toure, Adam
    RVP, Drogba (Zamora)

My single transfer I think should be Drogba to Berbatov OR Tevez

However, if VDV doesn’t play then it’s a bit risky?

Do you think I should do a -4 and do the following:

    OUT: Drogba & Zamora
    IN: Tevez & Berbatov

Or is it silly to do a -4 when I am only 2 points behind mini-league leader?

    Thanks, appreciate your advice!

Now VdV out, i might be tempted to play Foster over Begovic! Anyone concur?

And with Harry taking the p%$s out of Defoe too, I think hell go with Crouch and Pav, so Foster in goal for me

evening all. just in from a hard week at work. havent been on here all week and missed the build up.

So who's hot and who's not this week? Tevez? nzogbia? adam?

47 points clear in mini-league, and want to finish in style.

    current squad is

    Foster (Begovic)
    Huth, Luiz, Smalling, Carr, Djourou
    VDV, Yaya, Nzogbia, Adam, Lamps
    RVP, Suarez, Zamora

Doubts over huth, vdv and djourou. Smalling should start against Blackpool right?

How does VDV & Zamora > Jarvis & Tevez sound for a hit?
    Would leave me with

    Foster
    Smalling, Carr, Huth-doubtful
    Lamps,Nzogbia, Adam, Jarvis (yaya)
    Van Persie, Suarez, Tevez

or should i leave the tevez transfer, and bring in a certain starting defender to cover huth/djourou?

    appreciate any feedback.

Who are your other defenders? You do want to finish in style? 😉

i know, but defenders have been poor sources of points lately. cant see the final week being any better.

what would you suggest in my position?

Jeez! If the Blackburn fans they are interviewing on SSN were typical of the local population I would never leave the house! 😯

    Right I've done Rooney -> Berbs (c).

The question is do I also need to get rid of Odem and VDV (for points hits). I would like to do Odem -> Tevez but I would need to sell VDV to fund this. Is it worth it?

If so, who should I replace VDV with (costing up to £6.80)?

Yeah could be a good shout. Bit worried that Stoke away is quite a tough fixture (even if they have nothing to play for).

There's a lot of game like that. This week is very tricky. Lovely ranking btw 🙂

Thank you. Think I will go for N'Zogbia, his ppg away from home is better than his home ppg this season and Wigan have to come out and win.
