A month of thrilling football culminates this evening as Germany and Argentina take to the pitch in the 2014 World Cup Final. Many Fantasy mini-leagues are on the line tonight as Joachim Low’s free-scoring side square up to one of the most resilient backlines in the tournament so far:

Germany: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Hummels, Howedes; Khedira, Schweinsteiger; Muller, Kroos, Ozil; Klose

Argentina: Romero; Zabaleta, Garay, Demichelis, Rojo; Biglia, Mascherano; Perez, Messi, Lavezzi; Higuain

Low makes one late change to the XI that started the 7-1 rout of Brazil, with Christoph Kramer replacing Sami Khedira in central midfield. Mats Hummels has recovered from the knee problem that forced him off at the break last time around, then, while Miroslav Klose leads the line for the third successive match. Thomas Muller carries the hopes of many Fantasy managers into this one after serving up five goals and a trio of assists so far, whilst Toni Kroos’ double against the Brazilians has earned him plenty of new owners across the Fantasy games. Elsewhere in attack, Klose is gunning for his third of the campaign after breaking the World Cup Finals scoring record last week, though Low also has the option of Andre Schurrle off the bench, with the Chelsea man notching three times already.

Alejandro Sabella’s side is also unaltered from the semi-finals. Martin Demichelis gets the nod ahead of Federico Fernandez in the heart of defence once again, while Enzo Perez and Ezequiel Lavezzi are handed another start due to injury concerns over Angel di Maria and Sergio Aguero – the latter is likely to appear off the bench again, though. The South Americans have delivered four clean sheets in their last five matches and Sabella’s defence has been subject to heavy Fantasy investment as the returns dry up for Lionel Messi. It’s now three games without a goal for the Barcelona man now, who has looked lethargic for his country over the knockout matches – when it matters most of all, can he deliver?

I asked earlier on today for people's opinions on Cesc, Ramsey and Eriksen. Every person ranked Cesc at the bottom of those three. I don't understand the lack of love for him. His stats are awesome so the only thing I can think of is his positioning but here is my take on it.

If he plays in the number 10 then he is a no brainer.
If he plays in the double pivot then isn't he playing the exact same position that Ramsey and Yaya played last season? He will have always have Matic/Mikel?MVG alongside him allowing him to venture forward, therefore having a similar impact as Ransey and Yaya. What does this crowd think?

He is a proven goal scorer and fantasy asset but I'm inclined to wait and watch how he fits into team structure rather than bring him straight in

What does that mean? You know he is proven and he will either play number 10 or the Ramsey/Yaya role so what deters you?

New team, possibly different role to what he is used to so some uncertainty to his output,

I expect him to be priced how he left off at arsenal. IMO greater chance he won't perform as well as that and therefore be over valued, than chance he performs better than that and be under valued. So funds could potentially be put to greater effect elsewhere. If he comes in cheaper then I'll get him.

He may of course hit the ground running in which case I accept my mistake and get him in ASAP

Worth considering at 9.5, otherwise I can't really fit him into my plans. Just can't see him making the kind of FPL impact he did at Arsenal.

Ramsey not featuring at the World Cup could be a blessing, and see no reason why he can't pick up where he left off last season.

As for Eriksen, he's an attractive proposition because he fits into the middle-upper price bracket. We're more likely to be able to fit this kind of player in our midfield than Cesc who will surely have a lot of competition around the 10.0 price range. Suspect Eriksen will be the best value midfielder at around 8.0, alongside Barkley.

Perhaps I'm being optimistic again. Came in at 8.0 and finished at 7.2 last season though, just not sure he warrants that much of a price rise, despite ending the season well.

Ending the season well is sort of an understatement though. He was putting up double digits scores near every week for two months it seemed once Sherwood gave him his place. That said, at 8.0, he will likely be in everyones team so I hope he is priced a little higher than that so we may see some more variation!

I agree with you completely Kinnear. I think Cesc is being overlooked a bit so far. Perhaps because of the transfer madness and World Cup but I think he will give many of us headaches in terms of fitting him in or not. Like you said, the only thing in it is his positioning to start the season. It really depends on how much freedom Mou gives him - but if he allows him to roam forward and join the attack when he wants he could be gold.

One other aspect is Hazard. Many will opt for him over Cesc as their Chelsea mid although I personally would rather have Fabregas over Hazard.

I think it is just a matter of how difficult it is at the onset with our 100m of fitting in these premium priced players. There are so many to choose from and we can only have a precious couple!

I think being out of Europe will help them a lot but without some proper investment in the back 4 we will not see an improvement overall. They need to shed some weight in the attacking central midfield role too.

If they can attract some World Class players they should do well. But so far their have been only rumours linking Vidal, Di Maria and Hummels to Utd. The fact still remains that they have spent 60m on Herrera and Shaw, good players but won't make them title contenders.
Midweek rest should help the team and Van Persie's form will be crucial.

Would you prefer to have Costa, Hazard and Fabregas at the start to take advantage of their good fixtures?
              Or
Is a Chelsea defender a must?
Chelsea defend well in the more difficult fixtures and might come out all guns blazing against weaker opposition.

depends on your defensive strategy..i m getting a utd defender and playing 2 def from the remaining 4 via rotation.

swan+stoke defenders and playing the home guy can match chelsea def+4m def imo.

a defense with utd def+ (qpr, palace) + (stoke, swans) gives u good fixtures for the 1st 6 weeks and after which u can sell ur utd def to arsenal def for their good fixtures

List all the reasons the McD's game was terrible & lacked all credibility.

    Here I'll get us started...

Players losing their captain, Neymar in GW1due to formation changes eliminating the furtherest player on the righthand side of your lineup.

I don't think he will be match fit - sure he may be training but I don't think he will play much in pre-season and hence be behind the 8-ball

will take him minimum one month to be fit imo

he may play a tiny bit, but after such a long injury it will take time for him to get back to being sharp enough to start a premier league game...as I said I expect him back a month into the season

and this is arsenal after all - all our players come back behind schedule 😀
