    Thoughts

    Sczenzy (Murphy)

    Coleman - Chambers - Chester - Simpson - Duff

Sanchez - Silva - De Jong - Hoillet - Albrighton

    Studge - RVP - Jelavic

Could also have Kane and Eriksen instead of Jelavic and De Jong

I've punted on gabby for now at 5.5 he's scored a 100+ in 6/8 seasons although last season wasn't one of them, 5.5 seems very generous compared with likes of Nugent, Austin, Ings etc who aren't established PL players and genuinely horrible opening fixtures! Villa beat Arsenal at their place last season I seem to recall GW1

Another question, do players have to be sold to drop price? Or can they drop if no one invests in them at the beginning of the season?

Have to be sold by a certain percentage of their ownership, so players with high ownership are more volatile when it comes to price drops, and players with low ownership, can rocket up very quickly.

Are you deliberately giving miss information?

Players need approx 10% of their ownership to sell so highly owned players say 50% for example would need approx 150k net sales to drop whereas players with only 1% would need approx only 1.5k net sales to drop.

A lot of the time the lower owned players are owned by active managers looking for differentials so when these players don't perform they can drop extremely quickly (max 0.3 in any gw). The corollary of this is the highly owned players are usually obvious picks and therefore a high proportion of their ownership will be the not so active masses so they often tend to drop much slower.

Ok so I was half right.. I only meant that someone at say 20% ownership could drop very quickly as they'd have thousands of managers transferring them in and out every day, as they'd be one of the biggest players in the game, and then if they were to have a string of bad performances for any reason, then you have thousands upon thousands of teams dropping them like flies and their price drops like a stone. (Eriksen last year dropped by a ton for example)

The 50% owned players are generally too good to worry about them dropping in form (eg, Suarez, RVP, etc)

Fair enough IM I didn't think you were the type to be mischievous but you were so far out I did think you were trying one on.

Fir me the rate of drop is more to do with how active the ownership of the player is. If you have 50% of people owning rvp like last year and he is doing nothing then you expect people to sell but he barely dropped below 30% all season so there were obviously a lot of inactive players who had him in their team.

If you get someone like arnautovic say this year he might be in 8% of teams but they will all be active managers or they would be unlikely to know about him. If arnie has a bad game or two or a shiny new prospect emerges you will get rapid sell off of arnie leading to a dramatic drop.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering whether the Chelsea backline were likely to drop as players like Ivanovic are too expensive for most. But unless they start conceding which is unlikely I guess their ownership will stay fairly constant

Expensive defenders price can be quite volatile as there are a lot of options in the same price bracket and if a team is not keeping clean sheets their scores tend to be very low. The exp Def can be a lot of money tied up in a virtually non scoring player so they tend to be moved on pretty quickly especially if a cheaper option starts well.

Keep an eye on totalfpl.com for predicted risers and fallers each day.

    Early impressions...

Trippier and Cresswell pricing is a bummer. Both too dear for me...

    Mannone/Krul looks a no-brainer for 9.0m..

Debuchy at Arsenal looks the value defender...

Nasri, Eriksen, Ramsey, Bony all priced as I'd hoped so they are all in!

Chambers at 4.5m if he starts looks good. He started and scored in a friendly Tues night....

Snodgrass and Jelly great buys for 4th mid/3rd striker...

Do you think he'll get the right back berth, and Clyne out on the left?

Who's goin Courtois over DDG? Gives you a chelsea defender for 6.0.. the cheapest United defenders are at 5.5 so once one of them gets nailed on you end up savin cash with Courtois + 5.5 over DDG + Cahill for eg. only question is will courtois start every game? Surely Cech will get a look in here and there

I was torn as well, between Courtois + Jones or DDG + Azpi.

Will depend on whether Azpi is nailed on or not.
There's a tendency of attacking full back is favoured for this years baps.

    Mariappa nailed on?

    DDG
    Azpi - Cameron - Chambers - Mariappa - Duff
    Sanchez - Fabregas - Arnie - deJong - 4.5m
    Rooney - Sturridge - Pelle

I can play it safe and go Cahill, Huth, Ward by downgrading Sanchez to Ramsey,
but meh Sanchez gonna be big

Not finding picking a decent team easy going; that aside how's this look for a first draft:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    -------------------------------------------------------- De Gea --------------------------------------------------------

    ------------------------------------------ Cahill Azpilicueta Cameron ------------------------------------------

------------------------------------- Ramsey Nasri Arnautovic de Jong -------------------------------------

------------------------------------------ van Persie Rooney Jelavic -------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------- Myhill Albrighton Mariappa Chambers -----------------------------------

It's MU's fixtures and they've gonna score goals under LVG!

Chelsea DFs are a no-brainer IMO

    RMT

    Foster/Krul
    Azpi/Jones/Chambers/Vlaar/Dunne
    Hazard/Sanchez/Erikssen/Shelvey/Albrighton
    Rooney/Dzeko/Giroud

Still mulling Azpi and Dunne to Huth and 5.5 top 6 defender
and other dillema is Erikssen and Shelvey for Mirallas and Puncheon.

Interesting topic with the opening weekends fixtures who do people see themselves going for as captain? United at home to swansea, Chelsea away at Burnley and City at Newcastle gives some interesting options with Arsenal and Liverpool facing trickier games imo
