With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

      I am in tune with the "Luis may not start" train of thought though. I believe he'll play, but if you think that's too much of a risk - choose accordingly.

        Cheers! 2 reasons:
        1) He's .5 cheaper, but still nailed on unless they bring in another CB (in which case he still may be nailed if LvG's comments are to be believed)
        2) There are some concerns (voiced by LvG) over Shaw in pre-season, and he hasn't looked particularly crash-hot.

        The only disadvantage is that with almost 30% of players picking him, if he plays and is good going forward, he could be a pain not to own. But for me it's worth that small risk!

      Jones is a good choice for a MANUTD defender. Not sure about Bojan, new strikers may take time to get used to PL. Barkley is a good player, but not with the fixtures that everton have at the start of the season.

      I don't think barkley is a good pick. Tough fixtures to start and will be rotated too often. Bojan is a punt with good starting fixtures so I don't see why not. Jones is a safe enough bet to start IMO.

      General consensus I think is Barkley and Bojan are bandwagons ready to disappoint. Those are my thoughts anyway. I'm not sure what Barkley offers that someone like Siggy doesn't for less money. And Bojan could barely score in the Dutch league last year. Austin strikes me as a better option.

      Re Man U defenders, I'd say there's not much to choose between Jones and Evans

    Also worth mentioning. If you're going with a cheap def or gk aka bench fodder. Go with the one with the lesser % ownership. Any possible sale hauls would not hurt your team value as much.

      Would love for one of wisdom/Moore to turn into a guaranteed/rotating 4.5. I like the front line though. Main tip is just a simple one regarding your backup/bench fodder players. I'd perhaps consider a lower ownership alternative to myhill and albrighton, as they have relatively high ownership, and their eventual sale would decrease their value - not what you want from your bench fodder. Consider perhaps Gilks and Wanyama or marney?

      id be happy with that squad.

      maybe get a man utd defender based on there first 10 fixtures.

      Not quite convinced about Luis. Wait and see who will be the first choice lb, although he might end up as one, it's still to early to be 100% sure about it.

    My biggest questions have been:
    Is my back 7 too expensive at £34m?
    Is it worth downgrading Dzeko/Giroud to upgrade Henderson/Shelvey?
    Do I need Mata if I have Rooney?

      Very nice team!! Just keep an eye on Cameron as i believe stoke are reviewing a number of offers submitted for him. I personally would change henderson for either puncheon or (siggy)!! united have 10 very favourable fixtures so i would keep 3 united players! i know i have !lol

      I'd hold fire on Lovren for now until you see how Liverpool will line up. Their fixtures are not great early on either.

    Some changes that I have considered;
    Begovic + Evans > DDG + Pieters. Opted for Begovic based on potential save points.
    Surely Azpilicueta is nailed on based on Jose's comments last year!?

      I like that ...also means you ca bench Sigurdsson for gwk1 and play Bojan...then vice versa...they actually rotate very well and its something I'm considering too.

      Azpi is a doubt...I'd consider upgrading to Cahill/Terry for a bit of security.

        Siggy+Bojan is what im going with. I like it, huge potential (considering price).
        Tbh, I will just stay away from an CHE DF (+GK) until we see how Mou decides to do. Lots of great 5-5,5 options that are safe

        He really is. But surely he is going to start based on the praise he got from Jose last season. Remember this comment - 'A team with 11 Azpilicuetas could win the Champions League'.

        I could Downgrade Ward to Mariappa and upgrade Azpi to Terry/Cahill?
        A 4.0 Defender would really make my team solid I feel. Shame there aren't any obvious contenders at the moment!

          This is no joke, but actually bringing someone like Chambers in (who will most likely play the first GW) and save the money is a good option if you really want a CHE defender. The obvious downside is the transfer it will take.

            I have considered Chambers for GW1 and the potential of 2. Will seem like a waste of a transfer if we concede at Palace though! But if we get a CS then the casual will jump on Chambers and he could easily rise in price GW1.

      I like it. The only doubts I'd have would be over whether Jovetic would play. I'm not a fan of the backlines of QPR or Man U, but that's just personal preference, not the standard rule.

        Jovetic is a gamble but I feel like I can make it with Rooney & Costa - I may fall flat on my face but hopefully someone cheaper will show their class in the time it takes me to give up on him, ha

      Ward.....palace are leaking goals all roads with pulis's new system!
      Simpson.....QPR are after ISLA of juve so he may not play!
      Jovetic....better options out there as city play 3 of the top 4 in the first 5 weeks and he isn't nailed!!

      General opinion is everyone who starts 3-5-2 will end up trying to get back to 3-4-3

      There will be at least one striker 6m-7m that starts well and you are not in a position to get him

          Go De Jong to cheap mid and then pick a mid priced forward instead of Bojan

          I don't fancy Newcastle against City and that gives you time to assess if De Jong is worth a punt in midfield

        I think the most important thing if u go with 3-5-2 is to have 2 premium strikers. Lots of value in MF, just settle with Cesc+Ramsey+Mata instead of Sanchez, Hazard and Yaya

    Am worried about lack of Liverpool cover. Am thinking of doing Lukaku -> Ade/Soldado if I knew which one was the lone forward in Spurs attack. Then Eriksen -> Sterling. Any thoughts?

    No Mata, but I think Rooney is enough cover.

      I had Sturridge, but fitness concerns made me transfer in Costa. I want to see how they line up for the first couple of gws before I bring Sturridge/Sterling or Coutinho in my team.

      Depends if you think they can maintain what they did last year without Suarez and with champions league football to worry about. I'm currently without and fairly comfortable with that choice. Sturridge could still be a good option, but then he's also made of glass.

      Liverpool have a rough start for cleansheets, but I think their midfield offers value - sterling, coutinho, lellana, henderson,
      for me sturridge is too expensive and lambert might not get a game if they go with 1 up front.

      Henderson looks nailed on. Your problem there is Zamora...he'll be a sub at best for QPR. Siggy and Bojan offer a good rotation if you wanted to go down the 3-5-2 route.

    What do you think of it? I am thinking of getting rid of either Ramsey/Sanchez after GW1 due to their fixtures. Not sure about Bony or Jovetic and I was going to include Mata or Lamela or both. Probably going to start with 3-5-2 with Jovetic and Rooney upfront due to Manchester United playing Swansea in their first game.

            Decided to get rid of David De Gea, Pantilimon for Begovic and Krul to rotate between them. This gave me enough money to swap Ramsey for Mata and get Sanchez in. Also got Ward in for Mariappa as well.
