With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

Opinions on this team out of 10 I know the defence is weak but they all rotate well with each other and still have a couple of 5.0's in there.

    Foster (Krul)
Cameron, Davies, Caulker, (Moore, Van Aanholt)
    Sterling, Hazard, Mata, Ramsey, (Siggy)
    Rooney (c), Costa, Bojan

    Hows this looking Chaps?

    De Gea (Myhill)

    Debucy - B.Davies - Chester (Ward - Duff)

Mata - Sanchez - Sterling - Snod (Siggy)

    Rooney - Costa - Bojan

Plan in defense is to have the 2 big hitters and rotate Chester/Ward/Duff whilst further up the plan is to rotate Siggy and Bojan.

He's got an eye for goal, monopolises set pieces, has a proven FPL track record, is guaranteed minutes & to round it all off, is cheap, so he facilitates getting big hitting mids/fwds into play.

He's an interesting prospect. I'm thinking of going with him as a 1 week punt for GW1, & then replace him w/Siggy for Swansea's good fixs... but then I think it's just burning up a transfer that Henderson really needs to hit double figures vs. Southampton to justify. But Rodgers has been talking him up in preseason & there was some talk about him either getting a more advanced role, or working on his shooting etc.

He's definitely up there with Siggy as the pick of the 6.0 mids imo.

I know the Sanchez vs. Ramsey debate continues to rumble - my tuppence is I think it could take Sanchez a few games to get up & running & find his feet. Whereas Ramsey I'm sure will pick up against CPL where he left off last year.

Ideal scenario is a quiet-ish first 3 games for Sanchez until the International break... by GW4 if he hasn't set the world alight you can bank on his price being closer to 10.0, or even 9.9/9.8... that would then be the time to look at getting him in if his form picks up.

Obviously the counter-side is he blasts in a hatty vs. Palace & all bets are off.

    I'm going with Rambo fwiw, at 9.0, I think he's still a a bargain.

True dat. But I really like the balance & flexibility a midfield of 3x 9m's, a 10m & a 6m gives to the rest of the squad.

And I really want Fabregas & Hazard (Fab = 1.5 cheaper than Costa)
And I really want to get in early on Juan Mata
So it just doesn't leave any room for Sanchez, or Yaya.

If Sanchez & Yaya tear it up GW1 I am in deep sh*t. But if they don't... big price falls will soon follow & things will be looking good 🙂

Ok first RMT as I want honest consideration of latest draft.....will which change multiple times before now and deadline.

    Begovic (Given)
    Luis, Baird, O'Shea (Duff,STaylor)
    Fabregas, Sanchez, Sterling, Mata, Tadic
    Rooney, Jovetic (Bojan)

Keeper and Midfield haven't changed so this is what I know I want to start with. Tadic is my punt which I want to keep in. Sanchez as easier to drop than get in.

    Concerns are:
    Rooney or Costa
Defence - feel Chelsea def is needed, but at what cost, would prefer Cahill to Luis but cant afford
Jovetic - need Man City cover but hate rotation risk.
Bojan - had Austin until today as 3rd striker (benched waiting for Joveyic not to play)

    Cheers

      I would say

      Sanchez & Sterling -> Ramsey & Hazard
      Bojan->4.5 bench fodder
Jovetic -> either Dzeko (leaves 0.5) or Remy (leaves (1.5)

      O'Shea -> Caulker/Davies/Clyne (if going with Dzeko)
      If going with Remy... spend 1.5m to upgrade your 4x 4.0ms to either a 5.0m & 4.5, 3x 4.5m's, or 1x5.5m

I haven't got a clue really though, your team could end up top scoring team in GW1 for all I know!

Want to keep Sterling as only Liverpool cover and he is in form. Would do Fab to Haz and Sanchez to Ramsey...think Fab is going to play a bigger part at Chelsea and Sanchez is unknown but world cup shows form.

Think Jovetic and Dzeko will both start with one being dropped (or both rotated) for Aguero when fit. Pre-season points to Jovetic for me.

Will tinker that back line more....not convinced with Luis. I think I have £21M to play with there and have tried those combos already.

      Coloccini - van Aanholt - Wisdom - Naylor - Yoshida/Chester/Cameron
      Mata - Fabregas - Ramsey - Eriksen - Wanyama
      Rooney - Giroud - Costa

I've tried to go for a fixture proof front line, opinions?

Also, can't decide between that last defender spot, would like Yoshida but I think they'll sign someone, Chester a decent enough option?

If you had to have 1 keeper would it be Bego or DDG? Could bring in DDG and change that last defender to a 4.0

Would appreciate a little bit of anyone's time to give their opinions on this.

    Mannone / Krul

    Chester / Cameron / O'shea / Coloccini / Yoshida

    Ramsey / Yaya / Mata / Hazard / Sigurdsson

    Rooney / £8.5m / Zamora

I've gone with rotating keepers as I think they offer the best value, so I'll be sticking with them.

All my defenders are 4.5m, so should I save 0.5m on 1 of them to upgrade another to a more nailed / bigger scoring 5.0m defender, or stick with the luxury of having to pick 3 of 5 decent defenders?

I'm pretty much decided on my midfield, I've got cover for all the teams that I think will finish top 4 so I'm happy with that.

Last conundrum is the 8.5m or less forward. Should I go with Giroud / Bony / Dzeko or look at a cheaper option so my funds can be spent elsewhere?

Would appreciate any feedback, as I try to go out my way to help others as much as I can.

    Thanks

I'd be very surprised if Koeman doesn't replace Lovren, so that discounts Yos. Folk on here are querying Cameron's nailedoness too.

I'd be tempted with Dzeko / Jovetic / Maybe even Nasri as your City cover and remove Yaya and use the cash elsewhere.

I'd say Giroud if you haven't got Sanchez but the Frenchman isn't fit so would say Dzeko for City cover, but would be inclined to suggest Jovetic instead and upgrade Zamora. If Bony goes to LFC could be a different choice, you have no Liverpool cover.

I'm not sure on Giroud for fitness and minutes reasons, and not sure on Bony as he may be unsettled, so I would probably go Dzeko if an 8.5m forward. Also keeping tabs on Jovetic but not gonna start off with him. I'm avoiding Liverpool for start of the season I think they will take time to gel. Good team would you say? I haven't seen many people go with a 3-5-2

I usually play 3 5 2 and invest in midfield. My thought is they get more points for goals, likely to get the assists and also get Clean sheet points (and baps for passing and tackles).

Defence is always gamble (unless Baines ot Chelsea) as lower table clubs het clean sheets to, so cheap rotation does work, but you usually need a big hotter to keep this balanced.

Good team yes, my sort of problem

I've taken note of the fact that there are very little clean sheets at start of season in comparison to end of season, so started off cheap. This is easily the most balanced team I've seen in a while.

If you need a 5.5 Striker I would risk Bojan.

Hey guys, having some trouble with my midfield...would appreciate any feedback!

A)) Arny (with Weimann as 3rd striker with Rooney and Costa) & 2m in the bank and no Man City cover

B)) Nasri (Sanogo as 3rd striker with Rooney and Costa) & 0 in the bank

(Haz Siggy Mata Henderson round out rest of midfield)

I know Sanogo is a knee-jerk reaction coming off his latest performance...but he seems the best option as far as 5.0m forwards go. I tend to favor A but do think Man City cover is important...any thoughts? Thanks.

Out of the two, I like B better. However downgrading Haz to Fab and getting Austin instead of Sanogo might be good too.

No MC cover, maybe Bony > Dzeko as you have Siggy too (especially as they are away at MU gw 1)

Downgrade Debuchy to a 5 so you only need 1 4.0 defender and get Moore and van Aanholt.

Hi all. First year of playing. Would appreciate any advice.

    Bego (Gilks)
    Terry Luis Vert (Moore Wisdom)
    Haz Mata Lamela Young (King)
    Rooney Lukaku Jovetic

Is having Lamela, young & jovetic too punty?
Considering Luis --> Ward, Lamela --> Fab
Or Terry --> Azpi, Jovetic --> Dzeko

I know Chelsea defence may be a bit risky line up wise but pretty confident Azpi & Luis are nailed with iva providing rest for terry or bench impact...

    Cheers

Very risky, but I'm all for taking risks. Only you can decide how much of a risk you're willing to take really, but they all have massive potential.

This team is either gonna do very well all fail miserably I reckon. So perhaps you may think about reducing the risk slightly.

Neither. 'Azzzarrr has had no pre-Season, and Costa is unproven at this level.

And yes, the Premier League is a different kettle of fish.

Very different to most other top leagues around the world, so I agree with that point. I don't have either in my current draft, but I don't think either will be a silly way to go, especially with their opening 2 fixtures to get them going before international break.

I have a close team to the one posted. if u can give me ur opinion guys it will be very much appreciated.

    GK. DDG- Gilks

Def. azp- debuchy- Cameron/mariappa- wisdom- upson

med. Hazard- sterling- ramsey- Henderson- albrighton

    Att. Costa- Rooney- lambert/pelle

I'm very tempted to have sanchez and I know sooner or later I will get him. If I do, I will have to remove hazard and try to get 0.5m (maybe change then ramsey for mata)

what do u think? I hope I can get ur views

I agree with this to an extent. Perhaps Bojan and rotate him with Siggurdsson and get Ramsey in for Barkley. Otherwise you have to much cash sitting on the bench and picking your best 11 for the gameweek becomes harder.
