With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

RMT please.....going a little heavier on def this year as there seem to be lots of great reasonably priced attacking options and so I had the luxury of extra funds:

    Mannone/Krul

    Luis / Shaw / Cameron / Taylor / Wisdom

    Hazard / Ramsey / Sterling / Erikson / Siggy

    Rooney / Giroud / Nugent

The defense has good rotation and I think Nugent could pick up useful points when I need to take Siggy out. No Citeh I know but I don't believe in coverage and just can't see Silva outscoring others at his price point.

Cheers, if he isn't then I will probably ditch Taylor two as I have them for the rotation and bring in Yoshida who I think is a bargain and find a.n.other at 4.5m

      Check Krul/Foster rotation against yours

      Luis is a risk

Cameron is a risk and supposedly has. 9 clubs after him

      Midfield looks great

Giroud is iffy to me. Not sharp at the moment and really don't like his early fixtures.

Understand you're going with a cheap. 3rd striker but Nuget has the worst fixtures in the opening weeks and you don't want to have to worry your third striker is hurting your team value early doors

Cheers I will have a look at Foster, I had actually ignored him as I thought he was 5.0 I have never seen so many starting GK at 4.5m. Luis is a risk that I am willing to take as if he starts the first game then his price will go up and if he doesn't its an easy fix out. JM doesn't normally tinker too much with his back 4 but time will tell.

I am not believing any of the hype that Sanchez will start up front which means Giroud is a bargain at the price with all the talent around him and basically no competition for his place. I don't look beyond 5 weeks for fixtures to start the season and I don't hate Arsenal's up to then.

Nugent is a definite starter and only has 2.5% ownership compared to Bojan at the nearly 10% who I am convinced will fail. Cheap strikers normally only lose value if they aren't picked not if they just aren't scoring (IMO)

I really like this team, although you will not have any cover for Shaw or Luis if they have difficult fixtures. But being attacking defenders perhaps this won't be of concern....

I have the same pairing of Cameron and Taylor. At the moment I'm holding tight on them but appreciate I may have to upgrade by downgrading one of my mids if they do not start. Haz > Fab is something to consider on the off chance...

As I said though, I like it!

Cheers mate, there are enough other options in case Cam/Tay fails that I won't need many changes. I really like Yoshida at 4.5m and a couple of others always come through.

I'm not convinced on Fab and Hazard is a much easier pick for me and I don't see them smashing in enough to justify a double up. Fab used to gets TONS of points on the old bonus system, we will see how he does this time around.

Yeah I still have my question marks over him as well...Can very easily see how it would work and how it wouldn't.... But then Hazard has question marks over him as well given his form at the end of last season.

Just one of those, neither is wrong at this point... just one will work out better than the other!

    I'm thinking about going with a 3-4-3

    De Gea (Gilks)
    Clyne - Coloccini - Pieters (Ward, N.Taylor)
    Mata - Ramsey - Eriksen - Siggy (S.Davis)
    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko

    - Nothing in the bank
    - Would downgrading two or three of the 5.0's defenders be a good idea so that I could fit in a defender from one of the top teams?
    - Is trading Eriksen+Costa+Dzeko for Sturridge+Fab/Haz+A cheap striker good idea?

    Thoughts?

4 of your defenders have bad week 1 fixtures and good ones in week 2. Look to Hull & QPR to level that off a bit. Just saying I would want at least two of my defenders to have decent looking fixtures in any given game week, if not 3.

It looks as if Bojan is playing in the 'hole' so not an out and out striker. Maybe Agbonlar for Bojan? I think Siggy's first game is tough ... maybe bring in Johnson for gw 1?

Posting an RMT for the first time this season. There is still a lot of time to go so things could easily change but how does it look

    Ddg, Hammer
    Duff, Evans, Terry, Naylor, Chester
    Hazard, Mata, Ramsey, Siggy, Traore
    Costa, Ade, Jovetic

Duff- 4.0m defender who is the closest to being nailed on so far imo
Terry- He's our captain. Should be the best bet imo
Traore- 4.5m playing as regular wing back. He might chip in with better scores(Young) than 2pts that defensive mids will get
Jovetic- Monitoring his situation till the big kick off

Always seem to own Snod at the wrong time, and although I'm not sold on Hendo his nailed-onliness in Liverpool's team makes him seem a decent bet at 6m bursting from midfield. Punch is certainly on my watchlist though, thanks.

      My three thoughts are :

Would like the D better if you could upgrade to Caulker & Ward

If you have Siggy and Hendo in midfield, will you want to play. 4-3-3 sometimes and how will you do it with that defense

If a mid-priced midfielder emerges that you want to get, where is the money coming from to buy them without sacrificing one of your premium mids ?

    3-5-1 plus 1 formation!

    DDG
    Terry cahill Davies
    Mata eriksen fabregas Siggy Sanchez

You need a second striker that is nailed on. I wouldn't want to start with a single decent striker, even if it affords that midfield. Downgrade one of Terry or Cahill to Naylor (rotates with Stk well) and upgrade Murray.

So basically switch it up to a straight up 3-5-2 with a slightly weaker mid?

I feel like the points are in mid and while I may not have the right ones (yaya, hazard, sterling,Ramsey ,lamela, silva), the way I set up should be easy to get them in.

It flops if costa and sturridge score a hatrick early on and I need to find ways to get them in!

I'd be tempted to downgrade Eriksen and upgrade Murray to Dzeko.
Have a few weeks with Dzeko nailed on, find out who is better out of Eriksen and Lamela, find out whether Murray is getting games and do the switch week three or four if you still want to.

Nice one. I was looking at man city 'cover' and did have 5.5m defender in for Cahill and silva for eriksen at one point also. The only thing that's leading me towards this kind of team is me not being sold on costa. And I'd rather blow the funds on maybe a proven mid over him for now. Saying that I should probably switch fabs and Sanchez or hazard and Ramsey!

If the big guns start performing I can see this being the type of team that people are aiming for:

    Begovic, 4m
    Debuchy, Huth, Ward, Taylor, Wisdom
    Toure, Sanchez, Hazard, Mata, Siggy
    Rooney, Bojan, 4.5m

Completely unbalanced between midfield and attack but plenty of big names.

Begovic + Huth is a lot of money on Stoke's defence, especially when they are away to the top teams. I would prefer to get a Chelsea defender in their somewhere.

I like the Bojan risk, but coupled with a 4.5 could earn you an early wildcard or points hit if you find the more expensive strikers firing.

I'm settled on the defence, the only top team that Stoke play in the first 10 weeks is City.
Too much uncertainty at Chelsea at the moment and my defenders rotate quite well.
I was having a play around with my remaining budget seeing which premium mids I could get, depressingly I think this could beat a more balanced front 8.
        Thanks for the comments.

Defence are all nailed on which is good, how do they rotate?
Is Brady in the starting 11 for Hull?

Will play jones and deb every week, davies and williams rotate well, and threw in vlaar because he's virtually only 4.5 nailed on. Not sure is brady currently in starting 11 but i reckon if he's fit he will win a spot although it may be at wing back. Not too worried about Mata yet will have to wait to see a bit more of him, could swap him for sanchez or hazard if they don't perform.

Ha no Manu, picked Vlaar cause he seems to be only 4.5 naied on, picked weimann because I don't really fancy bojan and his ownership is large, and there isn't much else out there, will have to watch transfers for alternatives.

I'm leaning toward both for GW1 - Agree with Jonty analysis though I think everyone is nervous about doubling up at the start. I may chicken out and go with Mark's view - Sanchez now and easier to bring in Ramsey later if he goes on a roll

A weak subs bench is fine imo this early. Any injuries can be fixed with an early wildcard. If you're going with a non-rotate tactic for the first 6-8 gameweeks other than defenders, that's probably the strongest subs bench you can field right now.

Keep an eye on Vlaar incase he moves though. Mariappa isn't nailed.

Not sure how your GKs and defenders rotate and work together beneficially based on fixtures

      For 9.5 on GK, I expect to see Speroni/Green or a 5.5 starter with a 4.0 backup

Defense... Think about fixtures. There are international breaks after weeks 3, 7 and 11, how will your group be faring at those break points?

Quite expensive at the back and a lack of captain options could hurt you -- not that it really matters with Rooney and his first 6 fixtures. Might still be worth considering if Kolarov and Evans are worth the extra investment over a mid upgrade.

What I'd do is Sanchez>Ramsey free up cash, upgrade Given to 4.5 with decent rotation, upgrade hooveid to 4.5 with decent rotation potentially rosenior/mariappa. Then in midfield id say AJ to arny or upgrade to DeJong

    RMT

    Boruc / Green
    Shaw / Oshea / Huth / Naylor / Coloccini
    Sterling / Ramsey / Mata / Siggy / Marney
    Jovetic / Rooney / Costa

GK: I like to be able to rotate Boruc so I'm not downgrading Green. Also this combo is as expensive as DDG+4,0mill. Green is the best rotating option with Boruc.
Def: One premium defender and 2 pairs of 4,5's (excluding Huth) which rotate perfectly. Team wise the defensive line is nailed, but i might change individuals later on with more accurate knowledge of likely line ups.
Mid: My only worries are how to squeeze in Yaya or Sánchez if they become essential.
Att: Might go with Dzeko instead of Joventic, depending on how the community shield goes.

Not sure on my team at all - waiting for the final round of friendlies.
A team with Yaya and Sanchez?

    Foster / Krul
    Evans / Clyne / Caulker / Huth / NTaylor
    Sanchez / Yaya / Fab / Sig / Young
    Rooney / Pelle / Austin

Not as bad as I thought it would be...

It's not bad at all, but I think I would downgrade Young and upgrade the keeper pairing, or Fab to Hazard. Not too keen on Pelle either tbh. But it looks quite well balanced for a Sanchez + Yaya team

Had a good tinker and think I've come up with a decent side. Please take a look and do your best to tear it apart. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. My main worry is lack of Chelsea defensive coverage and Man City coverage.
    Speroni - Green
Evans - Vertonghen - Naylor - Shawcross- Van Aanholt
    Fabregas - Mata - Ramsey - Siggy - Davis
    Rooney - Costa - Bojan

Is there a webpage or a tool where I can see what % of FPL has my team?

You could add all of your players to your watchlist and then sort by % selected by.
