With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the  Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please encourage those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial lineups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

First up, I’ve decided to post my current lineup. I’ve opted for a squad that has a spread of money across the positions, with two rotating goalkeepers and a strong focus on the four to five teams I think are most likely to profit from goals and clean sheets. It also shows a strong bias towards those teams with favourable early fixtures and, hopefully, it’s set up to be flexible enough to make quick early repairs.

Guzan (Krul)

Terry Evans NTaylor (Wisdom, Duff)

Ramsey Hazard Mata Henderson (Albrighton)

Rooney Adebayor Dzeko

0.5m in the bank

My main deliberation surrounds whether to go with Diego Costa up front and and an 8.5 midfielder, probably Rahaeem Sterling, instead of my current selection of Emmanuel Adebayor and Eden Hazard. That gives me a Gameweek 2 option to possibly swap one of Jordan Henderson or Sterling for Gylfi Sigurdsson, although I’m happy to keep both those Liverpool midfielders if a transfer is urgently required elsewhere. I do feel that Hazard will be the top source of Chelsea points, however.

Alternatively, I could stick with Hazard and a 9.0 striker. Of this group, the main options seem to be Romelu Lukaku and Adebayor. This also gives me flexibility to hop on any emerging strikers who show promise for 8.5 or less. As you can see, I’m currently favouring this option.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMT’s throughout the day on this article.

Nice if get rid of Dzeko and fabregas and get Bojan and Eriksen then upgrade keepers but other than that it's a really nice team

Change defence a bit as well

Instead of Elliot you could try looking for a keeper that has good home/away rotation with Krul (Foster, Manone etc.) thought that will mean you'll need to free up funds elsewhere.

I like the midfield, though I would be slightly concerned about having so many 'new boys' in your team (Sanchez, Fabregas and Costa) as their early form could be unpredictable. Maybe switch Sanchez and/or Fabregas for Ramsey and/or Hazard. Then you are still covering Arsenal and Chelsea's midfields but you are saving yourself £0.5m which you could spend on Elliot -> Foster.

      Just a thought.

    shaw clyne vlaar (upson, bruce)
    mata yaya sterling tadic (albrighton)
    rooney bony pelle

    Main questions -

    A) lukaku or bony (like that bony has pens
    B) Pelle or Remy (Pelle not great in pre-season bu last seasons stats are awesome. Like Remy but bit concerned about dodgy medical and overall chances at QPR)
    C) Yaya or Sanchez (risk averse - yaya proven 20 goal a season performer)
    D) Sterling vs. Barkley (who will get more game time?)

Yaya is not proven 20 goal a season performer, he has had one season with over ten goals in the prem. I'm not saying he's not going to score well but it's not a given. I wouldn't have both Pelle and Tadic, I rate Tadic higher. Not sold on Remy either.

I am a bit uneasy about having too many 'new boys' from the start as their early form could be unpredictable. Sanchez, Fabregas and Costa (plus Austin - new to prem) might be too much of a risk. Maybe pick one of Fabregas or Costa to transfer out and make way for some Man City coverage?

I did the same thing (and have changed my team with all of the combinations of new players since). It's definitely worth taking a risk on one of them, maybe even two. I'm just too cautious to gamble on more than that!

      Like the keeper pairing.
Defence is your weakest area, especially if Luis gets the LB spot over Azpi.
Midfield looks solid and Rooney and Dzeko should do well to start with.

I'm obsessed with not having a cheaper mid in my starting line-up, but not sure if that's making my defence suffer. Costa/Jov feel like punts, but if either fails I plan to bring in Austin/Pelle and upgrade elsewhere (stronger defence or premium mids).

I reckon that early on you don't want too many punts, especially not in the same position. If City stick to one up front and go with Dzeko then you are losing game time with Jovetic immediately. Then if Costa takes time to adapt to the Prem you are down to just one striker; a bit too risky for my taste. Maybe lose Costa as he is more expensive, bring in Lukaku maybe and spend the extra £1.5 on a striker. Then if Jovetic doesn't play, you have a sub that will come on.

Or, swap Jovetic for a budget striker (Bojan) and upgrade defence there.

If Jovetic starts, he could earn an early bandwagon and earn you some extra funds. Your call really.

      Nice attack.
      Defence looks weak to me.
It comes down to Sterling vs everyone elses 4th mid & their more expensive defence vs yours.
Good luck if you stick with this policy.

Thanks for the advice guys, lots to think about there.

Spot on with the Sterling observation - I chipped away at that defence to upgrade from Siggy, just because Sterling was on fire at the end of last season (and in pre-season) and I really fancy LIV vs SOU in GW1.

I really want to stick with Costa, just because he'll be the main man at Chelsea, has looked good so far and has two easy fixtures to start. I think if I make another change at this point, it'll be swapping out Jov for Remy/Austin and throwing the extra money at the defence.

2 4.0s in defence not ideal but your money is elsewhere so understandable.

Most have Mata due to his fixtures, positioning and hope that LVG will transform Utd.

Young is a punt and reverse oop but depends how LVG will play...opening fixures are so kind that i think united will storm it without european distractions. Young has good form and 5.5 is just a ridic price for him (he also has been on set pieces i think)

    Caulker, Ward, 6m ( Chester, Duff )
    Sterling, Mata, Hazard, Yaya, Ramesy
    Austin, Bony ( Barnes )

Barnes, Chester and Duff are not nailed on but can change those around, if needed

Who is the best 6m DEF from top 4/5 team ?

Too much money in midfield, defence and backs are relatively weak, i'd get a 5.5 in the backs instead of a 6 eg. man utd cbs or debuchy at arsenal.

To answer your actual question, best 6M is probably Luis.

Think you need to strike that idea and keep cheap. a frontline of austin, bony and barnes is a bit too punty for me

Shaw. Especially if United stick to the wing back system. He will get forward a lot (he likes to anyway) and United have good opening fixtures.

Not convinced by doubling up on chelski defense.

A is safer - so B as I like a punt (or three in your case)

    Bego (Krul)
Evans Ward Chester ( Ferdinand, duff)
    Ramsey Fab Eriksen Siggy (4.5)
    Rooney Sturridge Dzeko

Bit worried I don't have a heavy hitting midfielder as it would
Make it hard to get one in if one starts well.

not convinced by fabregas potential for goals reckon you'd mostly be looking for assists, fancy hazard. mata or sanchez could be totally wrong of course, bit weak at the back as well

By 'heavy hitting' do you mean Hazard/Yaya/Gerrard etc.?

You could upgrade Fabregas to Hazard but then you need to find an extra million from somewhere. If it were me, I'd downgrade Dzeko, however that leaves you with no coverage of City. Otherwise, lose Sturridge as he may suffer from second-season-syndrome and not match the hefty price tag. That would free up a lot of money (particularly if exchanged for a budget forward punt like Bojan) to upgrade for Yaya in the middle maybe?

    RMT Please:

    De Gea/ Myhill

    Cahill/ Davies/ Wisdom/ Yun/ Moore

    Sterling/ Mata/ Fabregas/ Sanchez/ Siggy

    Rooney/ Jovetic/ Bojan

After Gameweek one will assess whether to upgrade Siggy to Lamela/ Eriksen and downgrade Jovetic to Austin.

Or upgrade Jovetic to D Costa and downgrade Sterling... Or I could maintain the status Quo but I have a history of transfers immediately after GW1.

      Great midfield.
      Defence is a bit stretched with 3 x 4.0s.
Strikeforce will hopefully fire or an upgrade may be needed early.

Two punts in the front line is a risk but it gives you a really decent and well-spread midfield so could be worth the risk.

With the 5 you've got across the middle, you're going to want to start all five pretty much every week so the gambles up front are a bit safer and could turn into good differentials.

Many thanks, time will tell, if it doesn't work out, I can release Nasri/Lamela for a Siggy/Henderson.

I can then at least afford Dzeko.

Thanks guys. Think I'll go with Zaba -> Cahill. I don't mind stikers having tougher fixtures so much (sometimes brings the best out of them) but will keep an eye on Flannagan's game time. Might swap him out for a palace defender.

Is Luis guaranteed a start. £6.0m is a lot for a defender who could potentially be on the bench. Maybe downgrade Young to a guaranteed starter worth £5.0m or less and upgrade Luis to Cahill (£6.5m) who IMO is more certain to start.

Ooohh n RMT thread! exciting.. here goes..

    DDG 4.0
    Ward Dann Caulker Chester 4.0
    Sanchez Fabregas Sterling Eriksen Siggy
    Rooney Lukaku Bojan

Gone with tried and tested attackers with a few punts thrown in between. My Defense is basically set up to take advantage of the first 5-6 weeks. will then swap caulker for Davies/Rose based on who's starting. Pulis defensive double up does not bother me in the least. what you guys think?
