With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Timbo tells us he is happy with his midfield and attack but has major concerns at the back. John Terry and Gary Cahill are season keepers, and he feels they will play every week but it’s the third defensive spot that worries him. Ideally he’d like another constant to play every week alongside his Chelsea duo so that he can use those precious transfers for more pressing matters, like jumping on the right bandwagons at the right time. He could be persuaded to have a couple of rotating cheap defenders instead of Ben Davies and Liam Moore – there’s a spare half a million floating around if that helps. Lastly, his goalkeeping combo seems to be collapsing around his ears. Is it too risky to stick with Vito Mannone? Should he go with David De Gea or is there something better out there?

  Duff. Be careful of using 2 Chelsea defenders though. If opposition scores, you will lose out.

  Take the gamble on Luis but i think he may be eased in the first couple of games.Alot of 4.5 options in defence.I'm liking Yoshida and Chester good start to the season.Southhampton still look good at the back even with a new team

        Its a tactic to go without a cheap attacking player. The idea is to downgrade my worst performing attacking player to the first major budget bandwagon (like Barkley and Sterling of past years) to ride price rises and to free up some spending money 🙂

  Those 3 budget defenders are really dodgy. You'll be lucky to strike more than 1 regular starter. Then you'll need to shift a couple of those 4m defenders once you realise they aren't starters and that would be a terrible waste of transfers (compounded by the fact that you'd need cash from somewhere to upgrade them).
  
  I think down grading Tadic to a 6m mid would provide the 1.5m needed to have 3 x 4.5m defenders (that are solid starters).

Felt I needed to beef up my strikers in order to make things easier for Aguero/Sturridge transition later.

Dzeko - Rooney - Adebayor

Hendo will become Siggie in GW2 or GW3.

Thoughts?

Personally I'm not sure about Ade, but none of the other 8.5m forwards inspire confidence, and I'm looking for some Spurs coverage though my midfield is full.

  Not too light in defence, all 5 seem average though, wouldn't you be better mixing it up with some more expensive defenders to play every week, cahill, luis etc, and then a couple of cheapos to bench 4/4.5

Team is solid, however im going for a long shoot regarding Long/Jelavic.
If you guys had to choose for a cheap striker in the start of FPL who will you recommend?

  I'd be wary of Cameron, don't think is 100% nailed on. Among the cheap strikers, Bojan (£5.5) and Austin (£6.0) seem to be the most popular picks. You could possibly upgrade to Dzeko/Lukaku/Jovetic by swapping Hazard for Fabregas/Sterling and Sanchez for Ramsey, or Eriksen for Sigurdsson.

Eriksen or Siggy? If I choose Eriksen then I have a good midfield. If I choose Siggy then I can use the money I have left to spend on a good defender.
