With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

  Strong team. There's a part of me that thinks Jovetic might be the better option in the short term though, and could stake a strong claim following his pre-season form. Only injury has kept him out previously.

    I know what you're saying. But as I mentioned earlier the Man city cover is killing me right now. Silva I know is nailed on but fab, ramsey and Mata (for the first 6-8 games is a must unless he blanks in 2 runiing games) Really struggling to sleep with this on my mind. :-0

  I actually really like it, maybe look at a different GK pairing becasue despite the perfect home/away rotation Krul and Mannone don't rotate great on fixture difficulty, I currently have Krul and Foster. Also, Bentaleb isn't nailed on, Marney from Burnley or Wanyama are nailed on and will do the same job (will get quite a bit of yellow cards though).

    4.5 mid is a real issue. Keepers too. Split between this or Speroni + 4 mil. I don't like either really. FPL can I have another mil plz. PLz. Plz ....Pretty plz???????

  Maybe downgrade Giroud and improve the backline/midfield. With Europa league involvement, I would replace Chester. Not sure how much Young will feature, so maybe change for Siggy.

    Thanks. I think Young will do well against Swansea in week 1 but looking to bring Siggy in after a few weeks once his position is more certain. If he's playing on the right it will be pointless but if he's in the centre I'll bring him in.
    
    Not sure about the 3rd striker at the moment. I could bring in Dzeko and swap Chester for Chambers until Mertsesacker comes back.

Current line-up

I would ideally like Rooney and Costa, but currently looking at this line-up, what do you think?

Krul // Elliot
Luis / Evans / Kolarov // Cameron / Targett
Sanchez / Fabregas / Mata / A.Young // Marney
Costa / Dzeko / Jovetic

- One of Jovetic and Dzeko are likely to get the time and the points early.
- Young is a good value punt until I get Rooney back.
- Decent defence is affordable, where Kola is a coverable risk.

Very pleased to hear your opinions on the overall approach.

  Downgrade Dzeko. Tricky opening fixtures and could suffer rotation. Change Luis for a more guaranteed starter, maybe Lovren! Replace Schmeichel with Mannone, Leicester have a horrible set of opening fixtures. King out for Arfield. Swansea's Taylor is worth 4.5 mil of my budget.

      Scmeichel is same price as Mannone. Krul and Mannone dovetail perfectly all season. Schmeicel's price will probably drop after their opening run of fixtures, so if you're still set on him, he will probably cost you less!

How many points overall do we need to be aiming for to get in the top 100 and win our local leagues? I'm guessing around 3000? Obviously it varies each season.

  You are looking for at least an average of 55-60 points per game week. But as you pointed out it depends on the players performing. If we get lots of goals and players getting big scores then it will increase. I finished 1463 overall last year and averaged 65 points per week so theres an idea.

    I think I was averaging at least 55 last year, a lot of the gameweeks I got 70's+. Finished on 2176 and 366355 overall which seems awful really.

  Swap Kane for Naismith. Azpil isn't nailed on for a starting place, downgrade to someone else at a top club like Lovren or Koscielny. Midfield is nice.

Having come LAST in my league last year, please help salvage some dignity:

DDG (Elliot) - will swap to krul/mannone or similar once man u's nice opening fixtures end
Jones (ManU), Morgan, Cameron (Marriappa, Hutton)
Sanchez, Nasri, Eriksen, Puncheon (Siggurdson)
Rooney(c), Costa, Remy

maybe downgrade puncheon and upgrade remy to giroud? want more chelsea but rotation is a worry.

        i'm not sure how liverpool will pan out this season without suarez - think they will have a transition and struggle with CL duties too, so think they're overpriced
        
        city - lots of rotation issues but might put in a defender.
        
        have swapped remy for giroud and puncheon for barry, but think there might be better 5m midfielders out there - any suggestions?

  You've had to sacrifice a lot to get Sanchez. IMO if you aren't going to captain him for the first 7 weeks then there's no point in owning him for now. Downgrade to Rambo and cheap defs and Marney.

    The main reason behind the heavy hitter thing is it means I don't have to go downgrading elsewhere to get them in. The heavy hitters that aren't worth it I can downgrade to those that do hit the ground running(Ramsey, Eriksen) and still have cash to get others.

Hi all - first season as a member, first post. Any advice on this would be appreciated:

Krul (Foster)
Terry Evans Cameron (Ward Yoshida)
Mata Eriksen Ramsey Henderson (Albrighton/Another)
Rooney Costa Bojan

Holding 2m ITB for first week with an eye to being able to make early upgrade without disrupting too much (not sold on Bojan, could upgrade to Pelle/Lambert/Remy depending on performances). Going Henderson over Siggy initially as from what I've seen of Liverpool pre season he's getting forward more often and Rodgers has asked him to chip in with more goals. Any feedback welcome.

  Looks a little imbalanced, I'd downgrade Shaw and Kosc slightly and then either improve Wisdom or Boyd so you've always got 11 starters each week

  Vaz Te, Cameron and Bruce are rotation risks, Shaw isnt guaranteed to start.
  I would switch Shaw to Evans/Jones, Kos to Debuchy and use the money on upgrades.

  Toyed with a similar team earlier. Ended up with Sturridge over Costa and Eriksen in for Sterling but overall very similar. Don't think I'm going with it due to not wanting to have such a cheap striker but it looks excellent.

Really going back and forth on this one, definetely sticking with 343 formation tho.

Bego - Gilks
Azpi - Debuchy - Ward - PvA - Hutton
Rambo - Mata - Coutinho - Siggy - Marney
Roo - Costa - Giroud

Still debating between azpi/luis, overall azpi will get more playtime as Mou loves him and also struggling with A) Coutinho + Siggy or B) Henderson + Eriksen

  Going for the strikers eh? It could well work out. I'm a bit worried about girouds fitness. If you can somehow free up 0.5 i'd go sterling for coutinho despite cout being awesome in preseason.

  If prefer Rambo to Mata but that is nitpicking. Gk too much investment for me... Like the D... Would prefer a more nailed on 3rd striker that can score consistently... Maybe try and work in Giroud, Bony, Adebayour.

Hi guys. My first time in the chatroom. I was uncertain if I should upgrade my account for this season since i didn´t use it alot last season. Im in alot of money leagues and would love to get a feedback from you guys on my team! Haven´t been changing it alot but since I started reading your thoughts im thinking about dropping Cesc and punting for Costa instead.

One of 4.0 defenders will get upgraded as soon as decent 4.5/5.0 DEF comes out. Giroud and Dzeko are slight risks, but given their price it's hard to overlook them. The only thing I am missing is probably Spurs coverage, but willing to check where Lamela/Eriksen will play. Is Henderson decent 6.0 MID and L'pool coverage? I just can't bring myself to play Siggy 1st gameweek against ManU...
