The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

      I like it but Zaba probably won't play GW1, having gone all the way in the world cup and Pellegrini having Sagna as backup.

      Also, question marks over Shaw. Wait and see with him, 6.0 is too much for a risk.

      Good midfield and forwards (rethink nugent IMO) but I think def is too shaky
      Luis may not start initially. Wilson may not start regularly
      2 4 mil defs is too many without security. if neither starts you are going to be spending points on transfers to try and sort that out

        Chelsea have good first few games as do Stoke with Bojan scoring 3 in 3 on pre-season and just got a feeling about Remy this season. But could play Siggy instead? Or replace Costa with Rooney?

      Giroud is not a definite starter, neither is Cameron.

      I like it a lot. Watch out for Lukaku though - he was late back from the world cup, hasn't had much pre-season and isn't expected to start. Try someone else while he gets up to speed.

    Which one is best, worried about no Liverpool cover but Utd will score goals so doubling up worth it. Also Lamela looked good in pre-season and will play advanced role.

      Probably neither since both have question marks over their starts. Cahill if you can afford the extra. Or Evans if you can't.

      - Bojan up front could work, but remember he plays for Stoke

        Thanks, I considered only Haz ,as I think the others are overpriced and won't score 20% more than my mids (as their price suggests), but I cannot fit him in without ruining the balance of my team.

    Thoughts on this team? Should I try n fit in a Chelsea defender? Gambling with Soldado?

    Feels weird not having Yaya in the team considering his exploits last season...

    Also really struggling with the Mata or Fabregas situ

      Mata because United are having easy fixtures at the start!! I think its better to replace Soldado with Bojan so you will be able to add Yaya in that midfield

      soldado big gamble IMO. go debuchy over kos, more likely to get BPS and 0.5 cheaper
