The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

            Yeah, I guessed that much. I was looking for if anyone had an insight into which. I can only pick 1 per team and I really need at least 1 of them to be a 4.5m.

      Notes: Great team, pretty template, but not necessarily a good thing. Maybe Eriksen>Lamela for a punt in there. I would consider downgrading Debuchy and upgrading Krul.

      Notes: Keepers weak. Would do a 4.5>4.0 personally. Then get Sterling over Eriksen. Nice spread of players, but no Costa is a worry. Wouldn't drop Eriksen for Arny, but Siggy perhaps.

        Thanks! If Rojo is 5.5 then why not...and LVG praised Evans earlier so maybe Jones is at risk..

        Luis is definitely a risk..so Luis --> Debuchy and Fletcher --> Wickham?

    Your time giving a RMT is appreciated:

    Baines-Evans-Debuchy (Wisdom)
    Mata-Ramsey-Siggy-Sterling (Elmouhamady)
    Rooney-Costa-Murray

    I know Baines is expensive, but with the CS potential from Howard and the PK/FK possibilities, I'm OK dropping 7.0 for him. Same for Murray as he is listed as a PK taker for CP...Let's hope they get to the area.

    Last year my back ups never played. Changing that this year... 🙂

    I like my midfield, but can't help but think Hazard has something to prove after Brazil and will be on fire from the start.

    What am I missing?

    Finally, I joined yesterday and probably read 10 pages of RMT posts & responses and changed my team at least that many times. A great deal of smart info here! Thanks.

    Which of these?

    A) De Gea, Cahill, Long and 4.5 mid

    B) Krul, Chester, Fabregas and 4.5 forward

    None of them, including the keepers, would be rotating with anyone ,except for Chester. The 4.5's will be bench foder with potential. Tearing my hair out over this so any and all comments appreciated!

    Looking for some advice on this draft

    Begovic - Gilks
    Cahill - Debuchy - Mariappa/Kelly - (4.0 - 4.0)
    Ramsey - Fabregas - Mata - Sterling - (Isgrove)
    Rooney - Costa - Bojan

    Fairly balanced, taking the gamble on Bojan
    Could upgrade Fabregas to Hazard but his pre-season has me monitoring him for the first few weeks
    Not sure about Sterling could swap out for Eriksen
