The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Rooney – Costa – Austin

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

    Hi Guys.

    I keep flipping back and fourth between two teams. The first being

    Foster/Myhill
    Gibbs, Luis, Taylor, / Hutton, Wisdom
    Sanchez, Sterling, Siggy, Young / Wanyama
    Sturridge, Rooney, Costa

    and this team

    Foster/Myhill
    Gibbs, Luis, Man U 5.5 , / Hutton, Wisdom
    Sanchez, Sterling, Coutinho, Young / Wanyama
    Giroud, Rooney, Costa

    So I guess my question is

    A) Sturridge, Siggy, N.Taylor
    or
    B) Giroud, Coutinho, Man Utd 5.5 CB

    Thanks for any replies, I really can not decide

      Not sure about Young starting. Maybe change Sanchez for Hazard or Febregas and then upgrade Young to Ramsey.

      Maybe Giroud to Jovetic for first few games?

    Any help would be appreciated with this as this is the last piece of the jigsaw for the start of the season

    Opinions on this team please. I dont think there are many rotation risks.

    -Kaboul has started alot of spurs games in pre season and they have good fixtures
    -I understand siggy might not do anything GW1 but id like to get him in now either way.
    -Not sure if I should downgard Austin and improve Siggy/Bench

        I think Evans should be nailed if fit, and Ferdinand should be nailed too. Just unsure on Luis really.

          So change Evans for Jones, he is fit... 🙂 Ferdinand... I don't know... Caulker is nailed in one CB place... on second... Rio, Dunne, Hill.. but if they play 3-5-2 then I think that Rio could play for... but you know him... maybe 2, 3 rounds and than injury comes.... 😉

    Right so here is my tweaked team:

    Krul ~ Myhill
    Debuchy ~ Lovren ~ Isla ~ Vlaar ~ N Taylor
    Coutinho ~ Ramsey ~ Sigurdsson ~ Fabregas ~ Mata
    Costa ~ Rooney ~ Zamora

    I had advice earlier so have tweaked but unsure about Krul. Will Begovic and Shelvey pay off more than Krul and Sigurdsson? Siggy only played in the 'hole' on debut so Shelvey has been central.

      I would swap myhill for Eliot .

      Everyone is raving about terry but my personal opinion is that he will not play as many games as we think. I think Cahill is a better option. Deny chat gets too many yellow cards for my liking too.
      Midfield is very strong but young is a rotation risk.
      Upfront looks solid but you have no man city so I would put dzeko in for giroud.

      I'm not confident Bruce is nailed on, I would prefer Chester.
