The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

      Looks pretty sick tbh, though with Siggy and Snoddy, you're benching a 6M mid every week 🙁
      Would downgrade Snoddy to upgrade defense

        Santi, Nasri are different picks, nothing wrong with them but I think especially in santi's case there are better choices like mata..

          Austin's value has diminished since Remy is still a QPR. Perhaps consider Jelavic now that Shane Long is out of the picture.
          In general, I find it generic due to the high ownership of all your starters. I though Rent A Wag would have a slightly more exciting squad, at least on defense. Does Hutton even have a hot WAG?

            One of the main reasons behind picking Austin is that he's on pens, and I'm not sure Jelavic is the first choice for the spot kicks... Ideally I would like my 3rd striker to be better (Jovetic/Dzeko/Bony stand out to me atm), but I can't find the money without weakening too much other parts of the team.
            As for the ownership, I'm not too kind on picking too many punts at the start of the season, it cost me in the past.
            I checked, and it seems Hutton has a pretty decent WAG

      Looks good. I don't understand Jovetic. Pre-season doesn't mean squat, and he costs 8.0. You can get Bony or Soldado/Adebayor for similar and more important to their teams.

      Also don't like the bench conundrum you give yourself every week. Pick one of Henderson and Sigurdsson and use the remaining funds on defense.

    First time poster.. long time lurker 😛

    What's the thoughts on this team:

    DDG (Pantilimon)
    Terry Davis Pieters (Chester N.Taylor)
    Sanchez Mata Coutinho Snodgrass (Isgrove)
    Rooney Costa Bojan

    Unsure about my defense, and not sure if Isgrove will start but could have some potential for his price? Not sure about Bojan either, would rather Diouf, but thinking I'll wait and see before trying to work Diouf in as either could be a flop!

        Cheers. Hmm, I always like having a 2nd keeper. Think Pant could do really well in terms of save points this year too.. if he starts! Has decent games on most of DDGs harder games too so think I'm going to keep him. Cheers for the feedback though.

    This might be an interesting one....extremely top heavy. I like a gamble but I'm fairly clueless about who will start out of the defenders. I like the rest though ;P
