With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Krul (Foster)
Shaw – Lovren – Cameron (Davies, N Taylor)
De Jong – Lamela – Mata – Sterling (Sigurdsson)
Rooney – Costa – Austin

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Looks quite decent and balanced really. Defence looks a bit weak with a Rio punt and a 4.0 Wisdom but still not bad. Siggy is too valuable to sit in bench so maybe you can downgrade Eriksen and upgrade your defence? Also not so sure on Henderson.

Hendo likely to get points if Liverpool starts in a free scoring mood. Pre season trashing of Dortmund suggests so, but Man City & Spurs away in gw 2 & 3

You can consider getting a 4.0 keeper as Begovic is kinda safe.

Terry, Clyne and Caulker are fine, downgrade Evans to a 4.5 or a 4.0 defender and upgrade Fletcher and/or your 4.5 midfielder.

Well my team's quite tightly managed so I'd have to break it down to upgrade Ramsey. 🙂

Would you consider going with Terry? He was on fire pre-season. I don't get the Bojan hype too, Jutkiewicz at 5.0 could be a decent downgrade as they are both quite not enough if you are playing with three attackers. Also, Cameron is not nailed on.

I really like this team. Quite similar to mine as you probably noticed. Only thing I would worry about is lack of Man U defensive coverage. Despite injuries etc., looking at their opening fixtures I think they will have a fair share of clean sheets. Otherwise, more or less perfect, hehe...

Downgrade Speroni to a 4.0, you won't need him since you got DDG.

Your entire midfield is nearly a punt, so not sure about that. Also if you're not going to play Ward from GW2 and on sell him for a cheaper option or better, play him.

Albrighton is injured, just letting you know.

So you should have 1.5-2 to upgrade, if you'd send Yaya you'd have a lot more. Focus on midfield.

I was gona take DDG out after the first few weeks for krul and with nice replaced with siggy, I felt only Dorrans was a punt but as he takes pentalties he might pay off. I was more worried about yaya, can't get mata in till DDG goes, shall I stick with him?

    A:

    Speroni Green
    Evans Lovren Debuchy Taylor Yoshida
    Hazard Mata Eriksen Tadic Sigurdsson
    Rooney Giroud Bojan

    or B:

    Krul Mannone/Pantilimon
    Evans Huth Taylor Ward Caulker
    Ramsey Eriksen Herrera Sigurdsson Henderson
    Rooney Costa Giroud

A gives a nice (on paper) 5-way 3-man defensive rotation and then rotates Siggy and Bojan

B relies on Evans for every game and then a SWA/STO and CPL/QPR rotation and a weaker midfield to fit Costa in over Bojan.

    Guzan - Foster
    Debuchy - Ward - Cameron - Bartley - Wisdom
    Ramsey - Mata - Henderson - Sigurdsson - Young
Sturridge - Diego Costa - Rooney

Wouldn't worry about triple Man U given fixtures and pre-season, but the trio of Hendo, Siggy and Young will give you selection headache. I would prefer to downgrade one of them to upgrade one of the others. Otherwise one of the best teams I've seen with that front three (bar Cameron as mentioned by MS).

    Thoughts on this team?

    Adrian - Speroni
    Cahill - Shaw - Davies - Cameron - Wisdom
Ramsey - Sterling - Lamela - Cabella - El Ahmadi
    Rooney - Costa - Bojan

I am aware Shaw is an injury doubt, and I would prefer De Jong to Cabella, but it seems probable that De Jong won't start on Sunday.

    Gerrard or Sterling

Gerrard gets penalties, free kicks and corners. He has also historically been a strong fantasy player.

Sterling is younger, faster and is more likely to run at defenders and take shots.

What do you think of this lot:

    DDG (Gilks)
Terry - Chester - Wisdom (PvA - Bartley)
Ramsey - Eriksen - Sterling - Tadic (Albrighton)
    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko

Would really like to squeeze Mata in but I cannot find the 1.5m to upgrade Tadic, since I am not willing to downgrade front 3 or Terry. Only option would be to downgrade Eriksen or Sterling to Siggy. Thoughts?

      Okay let's see.

Downgrade DDG to Bego so yo have 0.5 in hand.

Downgrade Eriksen to Siggy, and you have 2.5 in total. Upgrade Tadic and you'd still have 1.0, which you can use to upgrade your defence. Voila!

I'd appreciate if you rate back too.

The only thing I don't like is Albrighton. I know its a popular pick around here because of 4.5

But for me, I don't like doing that. The more options you've got at hand, the better. I know a lot of people will say its a selection headache. But I'd rather have that headache, if it means I can be flexible. Its better to have the option of another player, rather than be hesitant of picking the bench fodder if you have problems getting a full team out one GW.

I get why people are going with a 4.5 mid. But for me. I prefer spending a little bit extra and going for a 5.0 to 6.0 mid.

Ok , thanks. There's the contrast to my comment above. I can see pros and cons with both approaches, but I do prefer a cheap bench. Over the course of the season you will need back-up players, but transfers will often free up funds to allow transfers like Albrighton to Siggy.

Don't double up two 5.0 GKs. Get Begovic and a 4.0 and you are done.

Downgrade Shaw, get a better 4.5 option than Cameron at the same price or upgrade. Lamela is a good punt, not sure about Cabella. El Ahmadi is a budget option so not bad.

I personally don't like Bojan but you can either upgrade him to a 6-7.5 option or just play him for a while and see how it goes.

I think I'd prefer to have two playing GKs, to allow rotation if and when needed. I personally think this is worth the extra 1.0.

If you look at Cameron's stats, he played over 3000 minutes last season, so I'm pretty confident he will be a regular first-team starter. Just having a bit of a rest after the World Cup at the moment.

Bojan has scored several in pre-season, and Stoke were quite good toward the end of last season - and he's only 5.5.

You could well be right about downgrading Shaw...

Do you rate Puncheon higher than Henderson?

    Any advice?

    Begovic AVL (H)
    Lovren SOU (H)
    Terry BUR (A)
    Chambers CRY (H)
    SigurdssonMUN (A)
    Ramsey CRY (H)
    Mata SWA (H)
    Young SWA (H)
    Sterling SOU (H)
    Rooney SWA (H)
    Diego Costa BUR (A)

    Myhill SUN (H)
    Austin HUL (H)
    Wisdom SUN (H)
    Cameron AVL (H)

Not sure if Costa will hit the ground running but good start and pre season. Will Young start? Pre-season says probably. Bargain if so. Happy otherwise. Was thinking Lovren for something Chelsea for first few weeks but who starts for Chelsea? Also Lovren is a goal threat and can see him starting brightly for Liverpool. Any advice welcome..

Yeah thats the plan. With the option to downgrade to the emerging 4.5 when he decided to pop up. I feel the team has a great balance!

Players I wish I had - Erkisen, Sterling and Hazard. But you can't have them all I suppose.

Awesome. I've gone very similar. Same main front 7, Terry and keepers but Marney for Davies and Hutton, Coloccini, Cameron and Taylor.

Is it worth downgrading Davis to bump one of your £4m up at there are a lot of options at £4.5m.

I got rid of Ferdinand as I'm nervous about fitness.

GK - Comes down to personal preference. Do they rotate well enough? This tactic has never worked out for me and I always end up missing the Clean Sheets.
DF - Is Luis nailed on? I would like to think he will start.
      MF - Solid enough!
ST - Decent. I would be wary of Dzeko. Personally I would downgrade and use the money to upgrade your 4.5 and maybe Fabregas > Hazard? Purely on the basis that the 4.5 price bracket is all speculation at the moment. A good enough proposition will come along in the coming weeks and you will be able to downgrade then.

    bego (krul)
    debu isla jones (pva, bartley)
    Silva Coutinho Cazorla Lamela (Jedinak)
    Roro Diego Bojan

    1 m in bank

Jones is forced mainly due to shaw and jevans doubt

    lamela vs eriksen?
May switch cazorla to rambo/wallcott later.

Only fear is if alexis rockets up cant afford him...worth risking that?

Are you planning on rotating between 3 5 2 and 3 4 3 or just going 3 5 2. If you're planning on rotating, go the cheaper option or if you're 3 5 2ing it, go for the 6.0

      I like this team.

I would personally downgrade DDG to Begovic. Save points being the reason and there is never much difference between keepers come the end of the season. 0.5 saved.

Kolarov is not nailed on. He will get his fair share of starts but its a risk I wouldnt be taking. WOW he is 6.0?!
Chambers - Only good for 1 or 2 weeks max!

    Thoughts?

    Bego
    PvA, Terry, Rio
    Gylfi, Ramsey, Mata, Snod
    Rooney, Costa, Studge

    Gilks, Naylor, Hutton, Marney

Going a bit different with the big front 3, but I feel that the team remains decently balanced. The mid-priced mids are better than the mid-priced forwards this year IMO. Considering Silva over Mata for city coverage but that's the only change I'd make at this stage.

    Cheers guys

Very nice team . Snod could be a frustrating player to own if Hull are in the Europa League and he might struggle to get 90 mins with Brady , Elmo and Ince all looking for starts . Maybe Eriksen or Lamela instead of Mata and upgrade your defense slightly ?
